 - but point of order - the "white one" is not a Turbo. It's a normally aspirated 1973cc car, latterly called the "S1" used in "The Spy Who loved Me". There were two S3 Turbos in "For Your Eyes Only" - a white one (blown up by an overzealous car alarm) and a copper one (with skis on it!) :sunglasses:
ps. I had an S2 :man:

I didn't buy it because it wasn't in the same league as the shiny silver Skyfall car (whatever it is!)

It's a DB5 probably the most famous and iconic English car ever made....

probably considered 'ugly' because it doesn't look like a 360 modena or something modern...
good find though. nuts comment about the classic lotus! heat

"An ugly white one"
Not a car or Bond afficianado then I take it!
That ugly white one as you so put it is the iconic Lotus Esprit that turns into a submarine "The spy who loved me"
As well as being amphibious, the highly armed car has cannons that spray cement on to pursuing vehicles. It also has wheel arches that turn into fins, a small periscope on the roof enabling 007 to navigate at speed underwater and its other weaponry includes a missile launched from its rear deck, mines, sprayed black dye, and torpedoes shot from the front grille
As a kid I would take the Lotus over any of the other Bond cars either to play with or top trumps! :stuck_out_tongue:
Yes love it. Now just need a deal for a helicopter. That 360 spin was unforgettable

I always wanted a Lotus Esprit after my Dad took me to see The Spy Who Loved Me back in 1977, I would still love to have one now. But if some mysterious donor were to offer me the choice between either the Lotus or an Aston DB5 for free well (besides the fact a DB5 is worth about £700,000 against about £20-25,000 for the Esprit) it would have to be the Aston - very stylish, very well made and the look would suit me better  On the other hand if it came with all the Q Branch modifications it would have to be the Lotus - guided missiles and fully submersible - that would be super fun

No one has to justify why they don't particularly like something, especially as they were being helpful in the first place.
