If you have an old phone to recycle, use this link to order this deal which gives you an extra £50 when recycling your old handset.

I've already had my phone dispatched and received my £50 code, will give me £150 for my old iPhone 5 which is better than eBay and seems less faff!

Thanks to wildturkey for this extra data info..............

Just got info from O2 online chat to confirm that you can upgrade the data to change your monthly tarrif to
5gb - £34
10gb -£39
20gb -£49
Once upgraded, you can downgrade back down to your base tariff of 3gb whenever you like if you change your mind.
Great deal

****EDIT*****

Update: This deal has been extended and will run up until the end of the Black Friday weekend. However, we understand there's a chance it may be pulled depending on stock (Gold is temporarily out of stock), due to the sheer popularity of it.

simile to aprilg
9 Nov 15 #39
If you are starting a new contract on the same network they can't transfer your number over. If you want to keep your number you will have to get a spare sim on another network, Port your number to that new network, once it's gone through, you then have to port your number back to o2. It's a bit of a time and hassle but it can be done.
However when I did this for my mum who was/is on o2 they royally fluffed it up and it took nearly 2 weeks and a dozen calls to o2 to sort it out.

Uh oh this was just what I needed to upgrade from my 5, still costing me £19 a month more than current Giffgaff, but it's about time I upgraded.

Does anyone know if there is a possibility of buying out the contract on refresh? Or did that have to be bought on a different contract
preecey to owens101
9 Nov 15 #58
Unfortunately O2 Refresh is only available if you buy from O2 direct. If you go through any other sales channel like mobiles.co.uk/CPW etc then the contract will be a combined airtime and device tariff plan, with no option to pay off the handset part early.

Had a 6s 128gb briefly a few weeks ago that was sold as locked to O2 and arrived locked to O2?

Tried putting a EE sim in it to start with and it just came up with a message saying it was an invalid sim or something and I should use the correct one?
It worked fine with an O2 sim, just mentioning that these O2 locked phones seem to be locked to O2 as opposed to locking to the first operator sim you put in them, like previous iphones have?

Never tried the "3" sim trick, can anyone else confirm that this works?

thats not what the page says - extract below

Pay Monthly and Pay & Go customers

If you're a Pay Monthly customer, then you can unlock your iPhone at any time, for free. This doesn't affect your contract though – you'll still need to see out the rest of it. This policy may vary depending on your phone and tariff.

To unlock your phone, just fill out this unlocking form and we'll do the rest.

Make sure you enter the mobile number that you bought the phone with, to avoid being charged.

Once we've got your form, it'll take up to 72 hours for us unlock it. Once it's unlocked, we'll text you to let you know. You can then put a non-O2 sim into the iPhone and connect it to iTunes. iTunes will then tell you the phone is unlocked.

Gutted, still got a few months left on my current contract with Vodafone. Tried asking them if they'll match it for an upgrade but the best they'll offer a 64gb iPhone 6s is for £39.20 a month, 4gb data and a £129 up front cost

I really want to go for this deal but 2 things are putting me off.
1, is it only in gold now at this price?
2, im with tesco mobile and ringing them they have said be careful as the contract price can be put up at any time? are they just scaremongering?
preecey to kerryrobb
10 Nov 15 #149
They're just trying to scare you with RPI inflation. What that basically means is that O2 will increase the price of your contract each year around March/April time. This will be typically no more than 50p a month. Tesco doesn't do that.

Sorry boss, still £819 such a high price, not worth, I am happy with my £209 worth of huawei honor 7 specs : 5.2", 16 gb, dual sim, micro sd, irda sensor, gps, gyro, 4g, 3 gb ram, 20 mp sony main camera with duel tone flash, 8 mp front camera with led flash, fm radio, dual antena design and btw complete metal unibody with more screen to body ratio, 72% vs 65%, 425 vs 326 ppi, screen size 5.2" vs 4.7", 20 mp vs 12 mp main camera, front camera 8 mp vs 5 mp, only hype, apple have to thanks people worldwide iphone buyers because of their huge support they can sell cheapest config phone for such a high price/margin, no surprice that's why company is richer than ever before
And honor 7 is now available to order and delivered from uk so local sales and support and mine has 3 years warranty offered as part of promotion, its really funny but it's difficult to beat £209 of honor 7 with £619 iphone 6s, and btw if I get sim only deal with cashback and buy any top android phone I can still save lot money compared to iphone

This deal is nothing special, only things honor 7 can't beat is "hypnotized iphone fans"

For those looking to try the Three SIM trick I did just this with an iPhone 6 - Apple were replacing my EE iPhone, I bought a Three PAYG SIM from the nearby Three store in Meadowhall, stuck it in and VOILA - worked on Three...locked to Three.

Got my wife to request the unlock from them as she had a Three contract - they told her the model was not registered to their network so they couldn't unlock initially she just got a 'there has been a problem' text.

This was an Apple refurb, and I know these work like Carphone Warehouse iPhones in that they lock to the first SIM. I was also hoping that putting the Three SIM would unlock it and increase the resale value down the line. Unfortunately I was left in a position where I couldn't use my own contract SIM with EE in my own replacement for an EE phone.

I got lucky eventually and EE agreed to unlock it under the circumstances.

I'm not saying the trick won't work but it definitely didn't work in my situation - it just left me with a phone locked to Three that couldn't be unlocked by Three :-/
preecey to misterleoni
10 Nov 15 #181
That's unfortunate. The Three SIM trick worked fine on my iPhone 6 which I bought as a refurb on O2 from mobiles.co.uk earlier this year.
Received phone, popped in my PAYG Three SIM straight away, waited a minute or two 'just in case', then took it out and popped my O2 SIM in, which it happily accepted.

Then when I come to upgrade next year and unlocked iPhone 6s 64GB will probably sell for around £100 less like the other models always did and I'll sell it and upgrade

You'll find that the vast majority of people who go on review sites only go on there to vent their anger or frustration. It's rare for a satisfied customer to comment positively on their experiences on such sites.

Mobiles.co.uk are very reputable and are part of Carphone Warehouse.

mobiles.co.uk were good for me on my last purchase. The quidco worked without hassle. The only problem is they were relentless trying to get hold of me come renewal time.

Just like Microsoft, Google, etc; Apple is open to exploits
App Store hacked
and with government agencies snooping...no device is safe.

All networks and devices are vulnerable and Apple is certainly not 'faultless'.
Stuebydoo
10 Nov 15 #195
Hopefully they will fulfil your order, I tried for 2 months to order form them earlier in the year, and kept saying it was out of stock despite their website saying it was in stock. Then they decided to change the terms of the contract and raise the price £10 a month too.
kiish
10 Nov 15 #196
I never said Apple are faultless? I said their end to end encryption is, go see latest court reports. Apple are unable to help unlock devices as no encryption key is stored so once you "lose" or "forget" your pass code the device data is unrecoverable.

Same applies to nearly all tv/broadband/mobile providers - as you know most people only review when they have issues or are frustrated, they're owned by carphone warehouse so you're 'relatively' safe. Either way, most times if you can't get help you just complain on their FB/Twitter, they resolve the issue

Great deal, voted hot.

Have to say though that a Note is by far a better phone in every way than the 6s or 6s plus (I have a personal Note 5 and a company issued 6s). The deal is hot because it's the best deal of this nature you can get, but that doesn't mean the iphone isn't horribly overpriced or overrated, even at this price. Kinda baffles me why anyone would go for an inferior phone at a greater price, but hey ho, we're all different.

Amazing looking through deals for Android phones then comparing them to iphone deals.

Not one person trolling in an android thread. yet every single Android troll comes crawling out of the woodwork at the first sight of an iphone thread. Android fanboys should really grow up and stop trying to nitpick at every single tiny detail, i hate to break it to you but Android has its fair share of issues too. "ooohhh iphone 6S, overpriced" Nobody comments that the Galaxy Edge is overpriced though...
And for the record, i have both an S6 and an iphone 6S - which do i prefer? Neither. Neither are perfect nor revolutionary, they just have gimmicky features nowadays to try and show off.

I remember the days of being amazed when a phone had a colour screen or bluetooth, and WAP was an added bonus.

The user feedback of Mobiles (and CPW who own them) has mixed reviews dependent on which review site you go to but generally I'd be happy with the service offered. Care to explain what is wrong with the new version of Touchwiz in the Note 5? (Bet you're going to google it now lol).

Touchwiz is great on the Note 5, and actually necessary for a phone like the Note. The only people who say otherwise are those who are just used to vanilla Android. Either way, Android with or without Touchwiz is still a few steps ahead of iOS. Until iOS gets widgets it's just vastly inferior from my personal viewpoint. And the S-Pen just makes the Note a more useful device than a non-penned phone.

You would pay approx £20 a month for the sim only version of this deal. (£480 over 2 years)

Leaving £339 towards the phone. The phone would still be worth about £300 after 24 months, so true cost of about £39 for the phone...

You should get a seven day cooling off period, depends what day you ordered it. Give them a ring.

I love Android so I wouldn't switch, but this is a cracking deal.

Why is everyone getting the maths so badly wrong? The £819 includes your monthly bill for two years. People saying you can buy a £200 Android phone...you can, but you still have to pay monthly bills. Let's say £15 a month for a comparable contract - £200 + (£15 x 24) = £560. You'll need to make it nearer £300 to get a comparable phone as well, so let's say £650 for a comparable deal. Not a great deal of difference.

This is £819 for the 2 years, £619 for phone so £8.33/mo for o2

If you buy phone from Apple for £619, you can get this:
EE - 12 mo contract - Unlim mins/text + 4GB data for £19.99/mo + £144 cashback (redemption) so £7.99/mo

£619 + 95.88 (7.99 x 12) = 714.88

Sell phone after 12 months, value will be more then 24 mo. By then you can probably get cheap SIM only plans if you keep phone

Cheaper by £10 for 2 overs with same plan

It's still tat, so I'd vote cold. Other people might vote hot. I don't blame them, I am really really ridiculously good looking, but I see me in the mirror every day so I don't need the photo.

Technology is getting better soon we will have live tv on phones . Supported by forced adverts . Mobile phone companies will see a opportunity to charge £1 a gb for data . See how they all give unlimited texts because people use iMessage and what's app no demand for texts! . I have Netflix and sky go on my phone and when Iam bored I watch it and it uses about 500mb every hour . Data on mobiles is gonna get massive ! Grab a three all you can eat unlimited data while you can as it will soon disappear . 3gb is not enough for future technology !

I'm an Android fan at heart but I own an iPhone 6 and have used an LG G3. The G3's battery life is awful! Not to mention the gradual slowdown over time due to the processor struggling to handle the sheer amount of unnecessary pixels packed into the screen. Pixel densities above 400ppi are just overkill and deplete your battery faster.

Why? I have migrated from O2 contract to O2 contract 3 times in the last few years as a new contract and not upgrade, unless they specifically forbid just get your PAC off O2 and then ring them up afterwards.

I think it's about time that the people in charge of HUKD posted a change in rules to stop idiots posting what they think is educational nonsense on what they think is crap. 7 pages and counting here of people saying "I have an Android phone and it's better than an iphone 6s"...... Why post for .... You have no intention of buying an iphone and are not interested in the deal so move along and stop being childish. And before anybody says that I'm a apple fanboy, I own a LG G4, and came on here looking for a good deal for a friend !

I was just using the g3 as an example, plenty of other phones at a similar price, honor 7 etc (with discount code)

And I never said it was £200 vs £800.

Loads of sim only offers out there, e.g Virgin media sim only unlimited is £15 per month, plus most of the time you can get cashback of £50 or around there with ease. Not that anyone needs unlimited, plenty of other providers have 3gb offers etc for much less.

And to address the other guy, I don't care what anyone does with their money, but when there's suitable alternatives for less than half the price I thought it might be worth sharing.

I have to agree. I'm in inner London and have just returned an S6 Edge because with o2 I couldn't get 4g at all and even 3g was very poor. What's happened to o2? cecilmcroberts to bargainbuyer29
10 Nov 15 #436
I left Orange/EE for O2 because of the bad signal where I live in N.Ireland! O2 also has TU GO now which more or less lets you receive calls/texts if you have wifi but no mobile signal. You can also use on another device for example your PC/Laptop and text/phone/receive etc using your own mobile number.
Anyhow off topic and good deal thanks OP had been looking for an iPhone deal for my niece.

Now now. You obviously jumped wildly to a conclusion about this particular deal. I said data is overpriced. And that means on basically all phone networks is what I'm saying. This deal has nothing to do with the fact I said data is overpriced.
kiish
10 Nov 15 #461
Fair enough, might have wanted to mention that. Anyways its probably cause no one uses calls and texts now so data is the only thing the can make profit on.
MoneyTrain81
10 Nov 15 #462
That's kinda my point. If nobody uses calls or texts, then deals like this having 'unlimited' calls and texts is kinda gilding the lilly unnecessarily. Knocking both of those options to reasonable numbers means they could then sort the data out. But only 3 seem to bother with good data allownaces and less minute options (sim only deals), and even their contract prices are rising now.

Ta - I had a look

"The HUKD temperature gauge (the little red and blue arrow next to each deal) is used by members to show their opinion on the deals, competitions, vouchers and freebies on HUKD. Members vote "hot" for those offers that seem pretty special. Enough hot votes and the deal will go front page."

Maybe you should have a read through too.
'Vote hot for offers that seem pretty special'

Doesn't actually say anything about price. In fact, 'seems pretty special' actually implies that it's subjective. An opinion. Not just a grade based on price.
There's nothing special about tat, regardless of the price. And a bad product at a good price is doesn't make it a special deal.
This deal looks good to me. Enough minutes, texts and data for most (me included). Good price for a good product. Nothing staggering about it but worth an upvote.
When someone posts a £50 'full suspension' Tesco bike then I tend to vote cold. Great price, lousy product.

One way to put the whole RPI thing that everyone keeps saying about (guessing Tesco Mobile well trained to say so) is that every company is entitled to do this if they please but anything more than what O2 state is against Ofcom rulings which mean you would then be entitled to walk away from your contract if you decide not to accept the rise after the 30 days notice which they must give. Tesco mobile currently state they will not exercise this right. I'm guess this would stand as your contract T&C's at the time of taking out the contact, but its not to say in the future they will or will not.
Really you are talking about 50p per month for 1 year. unless the RPI drastically goes up.

Ah right sorry misunderstood. Guess it depends whether you've got an old phone to get rid of (I've got an old 5 64GB that's looking worse for wear but will cover my buy out cost).

Given how cold iPhone deals usually go on here, even with the Android fanboy comments littering the thread j think it shows what a deal it is, you can't get the 6 64GB on this kind of tariff let alone the 6S.

Don't see it being matched again in the near future, I'm giving up a 30% EE discount at next renewal in favour of this.

11 Nov 15 #565
Technically it's not locked. mobiles.co.uk have the same stock as the Carphone Warehouse,. These Apple iPhones comes partially unlocked, but lock to the first SIM inserted. If you lock it to the EE SIM, it will be pain to get a full unlock as you can't prove to EE that you purchased the phone on their network, whereas if you lock it to O2, it will in theory be an easier unlock.

I have an old three contract, £15/m with unlimited everything and tethering. So compare with keeping that sim and buying the phone outright from Apple, I'd save the equivalent of £6.70 month. Not worth it as 3gb isn't very good, I hardly use 3/4g and still average 5gb a month. Also three is excellent when travelling abroad, zero costs to use in many countries, that's the deal breaker for me. Still voted hot though

Hi There,
After this order, once you get a new number, you need to call O2 with your PAC code. You can get the PAC code from calling the cancellations department of the old network. O2 will then do the rest. Hope that helps.

StuJHUKD
11 Nov 15 #585
Thanks to the OP for the deal and to the poster who linked the extra £50 Mazuma offer.

Ordered this deal for my wife last night as she was looking for an upgrade and this was by far the best iPhone 6S deal that I have seen, and worked out over £150 cheaper over 2 years than her buying the phone direct from Apple and staying on her current SIM only deal (which admittedly was not the best and was costing her £5 too much per month, but she didn't want to move). And that is before taking the extra £50 from Mazuma into account which will save me the hassle of eBay and will also likely lead to her getting at least £30 more for her old iPhone 4S.

As to those complaining about 3GB of data, I have a 2GB allowance on my work contract phone and have only exceeded it once in the last 2 years, which is when our home broadband was down for a few days and I was tethering while working from home. My wife has a 1GB allowance and has never gone over it to my knowledge. Not everyone needs GBs and GBs of data for their usage, so 3GB is more than enough for probably the vast majority of the population.

My phone is being delivered today. I phoned tesco to get PAC, they informed me that mobiles.co.uk could not possibly offer that deal and the likelihood is they will increase the contract to £51 a month as it'll be hidden in TnCs that they can..........I'm now rather worried. Is this possible? Likely? Anybody had any experience of this? I'm hoping the tesco lad was just trying uber hard to keep me as a customer and take his offer of £46 a month instead.

They're lying quite badly, if they increased it by that amount you would be able to leave contract free. The max o2 can increase without allowing you to leave is per the RPI (retail price index) every year which was stated on the order form, max £1 most likely a lot less. Not all do that however.
ollie87
11 Nov 15 #605
Actually a bit of analysis proves this to be an amazing deal.

A 64GB iPhone 6s is £619.00. The lifetime of this contract is £819. So the contact by itself is £200 for two years of unlimited calls and texts, and 3GB of data - that's £8.33 a month. I'm struggling to find a similar deal SIM-only, the cheapest I can find is £14.99 a month through The People's Operator.

Im currently on a monthly sim only deal with Tesco Mobile. I believe that they use 02 as the network carrier. Can I get a PAC code from Tesco to port my number to 02 or are they treated as the same?

My daughter got 6S 64gb last month from CPW with 6gb data. She is paying £35pm with an upfront cost of £130. However, as the carrier is Vodafone the monthly amount stays the same across the term of the contract.

Highest I can remember is around 25% in 1975 when we had a 5-10 year period of inflation (great rates for savers though) - yes I am that old...so that's £7 a month. It wobbled in the late 80's but not been over 5% since then...probably more risky getting on a plane.

Oh no advice please, i was getting excited being free from apple, but this is like fate hehe
ollie87
11 Nov 15 #659
Why? It's a lot cheaper than any other contract I've seen. The phone itself straight from Apple is £619, so it's a unlimited calls and texts and then 3GB data contract for £200 for two years.

You simply can't beat this deal, even if you bought the phone separately and tried to find a SIM only deal.

I have had loads of devices and dabbled with high end android devices, yes they love a high spec sheet but unfortunately android is fragmented across the board so you never get a sense of tightness and security and lower end devices are so buggy it's unreal. As your aware and I doubt is that dumb but Apple design the software and hardware together to run in sync why do you need blazing fast quad core numbers and ram when it works very nicely together

chrish5244

No way are ney refurbs. You can actually select refurbished phones in he drop down menu separately. I would guess the sales person is just presuming they are refurbs due to how good the deal is compared to others.
coolio28
11 Nov 15 #705
Oh right okay my bad. that's really nice of them to compensate by sending a cheque for £50.00 but why would they do that? Surely as a business they lose out by sending a cheque of £50.00, how would they even know if you traded your phone in?

Well 24 hours ago I was looking at this and went for it and now have a 6s in my hand, walked the dog listening to apple music with 4g, feels good! thanks for posting.

I actually went to the apple store to get on finance last week but walked out empty handed after deciding to have a think, this deal works great for me. I am already on o2 and have rang them and getting my number swapped to my ususa one. Came from a iPhone 5 which I will hand down to someone in the family, only had 500mb and was paying 27 a month!

I called 3 to get my PAC code and had a tough time convincing them that I was leaving and they couldn't stop me. They tried to offer me the same deal for £44 a month! Hardly. They told me that the price would increase by a lot and I'd have to pay £50+ a month! They told me that 3 were buying 02 anyway so I should just stay with them. He actually sounded totally desperate and I wondered if he loses a bonus if people leave. After asking to speak to his manager I finally got him to put me through to the person that can give me my PAC code. Phew.

Like I said earlier if you put a Three SIM in the iPhone supplied as part of this deal then it appears to work however if you do not go through the whole 'Activation' process with that SIM still in the handset but replace with your new O2 SIM then the iPhone will lock to O2.

I don't know what would have happened if I had kept the Three SIM in the phone but suspect it would have either locked to Three or as part of the Three activation would have unlocked the phone completely.

We need someone to follow this through and report back but obviously only if you could handle the phone locking to Three.

Anyone?

Mine arrived today at 9:30am after ordering yesterday at about midday. Whole process very smooth so far. Can't fault mobiles.co.uk service & communications. Now just have to port number from giffgaff.

Excellent deal. Thanks OP. Glad I was off work yesterday to see this and take immediate advantage.

Disappointed with myself for not doing this via mazuma though as £50 extra for an iphone 4 would have been a great deal. Phone out of its box and plastic now so can't cancel (nor do I want to go through the hassle of returning anyway)

11 Nov 15 #746
Call mobiles.co.uk
tell them you have since spotted the mazuma deal, and you're thinking of returning the phone you have now, and taking the deal out again via the mazuma link. They more than likely will then tell you to keep the phone you received today, and will post you a £50 cheque.

riker71 to Kidsteruk
11 Nov 15 #750
Most reviews by people and websites testing the battery say it's fine, eg gsmarena.com phonearena.com Reevoo user website. I'm coming from an iphone 5 over 2 years old so I'm sure it will be an improvement. Sure ideally they would have put a thicker battery in but it's no deal breaker. Plus you have 14 days to return if not happy. I'll be getting Lirum device app to check which A9 chip the phone has when it arrives, TSMC or Samsung. The phones with TSMC chip are reported to have better battery performance. Samsung’s chip shows up as N66AP or N71AP, while TSMC’s appears as N66MAP or N71MAP. if anyone has received theirs and can update here which chip they have that would be useful

People don't even know that Android runs in a Virtual Machine whereas Apple is native to the hardware. So being native Apple is able to do the same thing but with less RAM and CPU compared to Android running in a VM. 1GB of 3GB android RAM may probably just be used for garbage collection. Fanboys gonna fan, I wouldn't get worked up if someone is too stupid and is a spec ****.

You seem to be getting worked up rather nicely tho....

Oh and it isn't running in a virtual machine either. Android itself is core code no different the the Linux platform its based on. The difference between Apple and Android devices is the code has to be kept wide and broad as it has to run across many differing hardware solutions and therefore it isn't possible to optimise it without losing the ability to support many differences (which officially Google has done in the past, The change from Gingerbread to Jellybean saw many devices lose official support, Marshmallow looks like it might be the start of other devices that will require wholesale modding of Android versions to continue to be running on it. Manufacturers have to tweak code given by Google for their devices in order for them to run smoothly, its exactly the same as the guys and girls on XDA are doing with the source code on whatever they are modding!

Apparently o2 can't unlock it if you put the o2 sim inside first , you will have to contact CPW AKA mobiles.com to unlock it

Your stupidity really is quite something isn't it....
https://sites.google.com/site/io/dalvik-vm-internals

Dalvik is so people can write apps easily to run on Android, it is nothing to do with the OS code the same as Java on a Windows PC has nothing to do Windows OS...

Sorry to clarify it was Dalvik before 4.4 kitkat and that changed to ART. It's not native and its not "broad code". Maybe you should learn how it all works before commenting. I ain't a fanboy brah, I own an android device :P.

correct and i say again o2 will not unlock for at least 6 months as people keep quoting o2 unlock form for old iphones

I took out an iPhone 6 deal from this website in April this year. The phone stayed unlocked eventhough I initially put an EE sim. Now using Vodafone. I've even used it abroad in 3 different countries with local sim.
Just saying, it may not lock.

I've ordered space grey and the order says space grey. Probably just used the wrong photo. I wouldn't worry about it, it's what's on the order that counts.

Yup, ordered mine on Monday and took delivery today.

They use DPD for their deliveries and they tell you which day it's gonna be delivered on and then, on the day itself, they send you a text or email to confirm the time within 60 mins.

I know fully how it all works 'brah'! Dalvik was changed when the spat happened between Google and Oracle, if you knew what you were talking about then you'd have known that it was possible to switch between the 2 for a while or did you think that Google shipped 2 versions of Android with every upgrade?....

Dalvik and Art are for simple coding instruction exactly the same as HTML and Java are that running top of the source code, Android is not running in a VM its the OS, if it wasn't don't you think someone might be a bit pee'd off that all these phones and gadgets are available running off the back of someone else's and they weren't getting paid for it?

Android is a version of Linux, pure and simple and that's it - end of!

Even that link shows you know absolutely jack about Android as that fells you that apps are running on top of Android.

Also it completely misses the boat, the reason for lots of ram = lots of apps running together, you know actual multitasking not the freezing of apps that have been moved to the background. That's the way how Apple keeps up performance, it shuts down background operations whereas Android only does once it's memory is full or the task is manually killed.
I'd quit now fella, you're just making yourself look even more stupid....
brookysm
11 Nov 15 #854
If only Google thought of doing this eh? Imagine being able to do that and not only that but what if a Sony could talk to a HTC or a Samsung - wouldn't that be amazing!

Now imagine if you could do away completely with needing to use a PC to back up and restore too....

It's folk like you that do Apple owners no favours fella.

Agree I never said different manufacturers didn't do the same thing, I have used and had other gear and it's nice don't get me wrong, but I prefer Apples simplicity, build quality, desirable products and general customer service, my choice mate.
brookysm
11 Nov 15 #859
Where did I say it wasn't your choice, its the same as why I have a superbly built tablet in my hand from Sony, a huge 13.3" tablet from Lenovo (no Apple weren't the 1st with a large tablet and this one even has a built in projector) to its left, I also have 2 Sony phones on the table next to me along with an LG and even a Android Stereo in the car and guess what, they all talk to each other....

As for customer service, other than with Samsung I've never had an issue with any other suppliers customer service and oddly enough it seems Apple devices can't be very reliable seeing as people are forever saying how great it is whenever they have had a problem - personally I prefer it when my electronics simply don't break....

Thanks, ordered in silver. Used the mazuma mobile link to get the extra £50 for my iphone 5 then copied the rest of the link from the techradar link and added it on to "http://mazuma.mobiles.co.uk/". So the whole link for the deal becomes:

How is this a deal? This is only marginally less than buying the phone outright + my existing rolling unlimited plan on three. But you'd be stuck with a crappy 2 year contract. Can you change/upgrade halfway in the contract?
martyk62 to benjai
11 Nov 15 #880
Its not marginally less but infinitely better than outright buying phone + unlimited minutes + 3gb data is =649+600=£1249.
The deal works out at £819. For me its a good deal even if i tried to get same with 3 they are charging £44 a month and 100 upfront. A saving of £420 is good in the long run.

The clincher for me was the fact that I have an o2 Business Landline account that allows me to divert incoming calls to a number of my choice. I can divert 200 mins per month to an o2 mobile at no extra cost. Diverting to my previous EE mobile would've cost 50p per minute. Needless to say I got an o2 payg sim deal but that meant having to use a 2nd phone.

Guys, today I've received my phone and activated it with the o2 sim supplied.I filled up online unlock form on o2 website, and been told that will receive a text in up to 14 days.Nothing else.I just decided to put in different sim( 3 one, only this I have) and it get connection and go through activation process.I didn't finish it,turned it off,put my o2 sim back, turned it on and again got o2 reception.I think that means the phone is unlocked, just not sure if it was unlocked or o2 did it.I haven't got any other nano sim to try. What do you think?

I pay £12 for unlimited data = 288 + 619 for the phone (list price) = £907. So less than £100 over two years without getting stuck in a contract. Unless you can pull out of the contract somehow? Or do people who take these deals always have their phones for two years? What happens if you lose it?
