Grabbed three of these today in local 99p store in Birmingham. Lots on shelves, usual rrp £9.99. Great for own use, stocking fillers or gifts? 99p!&@?

No actually. They sell some cereal amongst other things for more than 99p (in the same way that Poundland and Poundworld do at times).

My husband won't let me shop in the 99p store or poundland, he says I buy a load of crap that ends up costing £20 or £30.

Easily done  They do sell some good stuff cheap alongside the rubbish. Not quite sure how they're getting away with charging more than 99p/£1 for certain items in some stores though

I suppose that they are not obliged to sell stuff for 99p, just that the majority of their stock is at that price point. So presumably providing the other stuff is suitably under RRP they can sell it and people will still feel that they have a bargain?

All the boxes in my shop (Leeds) have a use-by date of 11.2013, so 2 years out of date...Not a great deal really...

Im sure that date is supposed to be the manufacturing date and not the expiry date.
