It is for any person who has the Shell Motorist App (its free to add it) and don't have Paypal. This is so you can make payments via Paypal instead of going into kiosk and paying by card and cash.
Just to clarify your post, it seems the offer is for anybody who downloads the Shell app. Then you just link PayPal. You can already have PayPal - just not linked to the app.

Where does it say only for new PayPal users, I can't find that in your links or the T&C's as far as I can see it's for existing PayPal users, you just need to pay by PayPal.

There's an option instead to sign into PayPal.

So I clicked on the link - and verified it to Paypal without downloading the app and now I see 5 pound in my paypal wallet , i presume all i do now is pay using the shell app and it would pick the 5 pound from the paypal account.
That's a 5 quid off effectively. Thanks OP - you sure are lightening quick to post it  I saw the email and thought surely this will be beneficial to a lot - search HUKD and there you are - well done to you.

You will receive a £5 discount on your next purchase when you use PayPal and spend the minimum purchase amount of £5 at participating Shell Service Stations ("Offer"). The Offer is valid at participating Shell Service Stations from on 18th of November 2015 at 0:01 GMT to the 30th of November at 23:59 GMT. You must add the Offer to your PayPal account before you can receive the discount. After all applicable taxes have been added to your order, the Discount will be applied and subtracted from your total at checkout. To apply this Offer, you must a) create or have a UK PayPal account in good standing, b) view an Offer on a seller email or other location, c) click the "Save to PayPal Account" button, d) complete a purchase at a participating Shell Service Station using your PayPal account and e) complete your purchase using PayPal no later than 23:59 GMT on 30th of November 2015. The Offer is limited to the first 2,600 customers. Offer is limited to one Offer per customer and is only available for a one time use. The Offer excludes gift voucher payments and gift card purchases and purchases not made through your PayPal account. Other exclusions may apply. If you seek a full refund for a purchase made using the Offer, the full refund amount will be provided subject to the seller's refund policy minus the Offer value. If a partial refund is provided, you will receive the partial refund amount minus the Offer value. For the avoidance of doubt, if you receive a refund the Offer shall no longer be available. Offers are still subject to their expiry dates. Offer valid in the UK only. Offers cannot be combined with any other voucher, offer, discount or promotion code and may not be redeemed for cash. Void where prohibited. Offer may not be available when network connectivity between the seller and PayPal is unavailable.

We had such a fantastic response yesterday to our £5 Fill Up & Go promotion that unfortunately our systems were overwhelmed.
So we’re sorry if you couldn’t get your £5 credit – but we’re glad to say we’ve fixed things now. We still have 50,000 credits to be claimed – but once they’re gone, they’re gone, so make sure you apply as soon as you can!
Add the £5 credit now and make sure you pay for your fuel using the Shell Motorist app before the end of November.
If you were successful and received the £5 credit, please disregard this email. Unfortunately, there’s only one credit per custome

Thanks. Got a 2nd email too. First offer was for first 2,600 customers. Now they've added another 50,000 vouchers.
Used the service today with the first batch of £5 vouchers. Easy process and fast. My uncle was adamant that I was stealing fuel (a complete technophobe). 'The attendant's looking at you, HE'S LOOKING AT US!' I showed him the online receipt afterwards.
Also managed to apply this new £5 voucher to the same PayPal account.

Am I correct in saying you need to initially use the Shell app and, when it comes to payment, the Shell app diverts you to PayPal to pay?
Apogee00 to HappyShopper
21 Nov 15#41
Within the app you open up the fill up and pay feature, scan the tanks bar code, fill up and your done (PayPals linked so once finished it debits your account)
matwalaboy to HappyShopper
21 Nov 15#42
You need to use the link which then allows
You to load the voucher to your PayPal account and then when setting up the shell account link it to your PayPal account. Then just scan the QR code at the pump and fill up. The app would automatically work out how much you filled and use PayPal to make the account (after accounting for the 5 quid voucher, that you had previously loaded to PayPal) - hope this clarifies.

21 Nov 151#43
I've done this twice for myself and a family member - £20 saved.
Thanks OP.
One of my debit cards was expired which I think was the original reason for PayPal wallet issue.
I also noticed the problem that if you have 50p in your PayPal wallet, it will pay with this and then make your PayPal account into a negative balance - leading to a PayPal wallet issue at your next fill up 60 seconds later (2nd voucher)
So you either need enough money to cover the petrol in your paypal balance - or best have £0.00. It will not take the 50p from the paypal balance AND pay the rest using your bank details.

You need the loyalty card first, download the shell motorist app and register on that then through that app you register for "fill up and go". You link your account with PayPal and save the offer to your account. Drive up, scan bar code on fuel pump, fill up and go. All done through PayPal

Mystery. Shell website will tell you it's PayPal. PayPal will tell you it's Shell.
I had an expired card, and on returning the next day after fixing that, it worked fine for 2 transactions.
A family member had no expired card, used mine and their phones in an attempt to pay (and therefore 2 Shell accounts as well) - AND I transferred money into their paypal wallet - and it came up with paypal wallet issue. Tried again a couple of hours later with the same result. It was even the same pump as I used successfully.
Completely random.

Go into shell motorist app, click on fill up and go and it should turn your camera on to scan (or type in if it doesn't)
and you said which app to get offer not to scan

Put £5 of diesel in today. Took a little while so it's a good job they were quiet. Then stayed parked at the pump while I wandered into the shop to buy a paper, possibly defeating the purpose of paying with the app, lol. Had confirmation emails from Shell & Paypal.
Thanks

Three local shell garages none of which had pay pump facilities up and running. One had the QR cards up with coming soon written across them!

No need to vote cold if you already have Paypal! It is simply an offer for those that don't.
Link is - https://coupons.paypal.com/offers/mbu1xy5
You DO NOT need to receive the email. (Maybe you do, but in reality it should work anyway if you use the link).
This should go MEGA hot
That's a 5 quid off effectively. Thanks OP - you sure are lightening quick to post it  I saw the email and thought surely this will be beneficial to a lot - search HUKD and there you are - well done to you.
The offer is limited to the first 2,600 customers - so save the offer fast.
Signed up and logged into PayPal
Downloaded app and registered my PayPal
Logged into PayPal - checked wallet - zilch? (I assume and hope it's there once I buy the fuel)
Do I have to use my credit care?

Done it, went through isadiqs first link, cheers
Phoned PayPal and nothing to do with them. Shell website says it's PayPals fault.
:disappointed:
You to load the voucher to your PayPal account and then when setting up the shell account link it to your PayPal account. Then just scan the QR code at the pump and fill up. The app would automatically work out how much you filled and use PayPal to make the account (after accounting for the 5 quid voucher, that you had previously loaded to PayPal) - hope this clarifies.
Thanks for your help.
You have to select the £20 option but can fill up with less.
Could anyone help if you could tell me the pump code please?
Many thanks
A) Speak to the employee
B) That petrol station is not part of this offer
The codes are different for each store. We cannot help you.
Keep bumping the post!

Any idea why?
I had an expired card, and on returning the next day after fixing that, it worked fine for 2 transactions.
A family member had no expired card, used mine and their phones in an attempt to pay (and therefore 2 Shell accounts as well) - AND I transferred money into their paypal wallet - and it came up with paypal wallet issue. Tried again a couple of hours later with the same result. It was even the same pump as I used successfully.
Completely random.
I created a new paypal account
loaded the offer to my wallet
opened the shell app and logged in using my exisiting shell club card details
clicked on fill up and go, asked for my new paypal account password etc
went to the pump to scan
got an error saying: paypal wallet issue, pay at pump.
I even tried logging out completely from PayPal and shell and tried again same error message.
Removed my shell card still not working.
Is it two claims per wallet?
...Oh and it's £20 in my case
Clicking through some buttons and filling up where you'd normally fill up doesn't seem like a great "length".
The Offer is limited to the first 50,000 customers. Offer is limited to one Offer per customer and is only available for a one time use.
Download the shell motorist app
Within that app register for the fill up and go feature
Link account to your PayPal
Save the PayPal offer at bottom of this page
Scan QR code at participating garage
Fill up
Go
can you just buy £5 fuel to see if it works?
Thanks Op
Have you used PayPal app or Shell app?
Thanks
BTW, offer runs out on Monday.
I have the same as you - desktop says offer has been saved but I cannot see it on my paypal app!
I have now used mine and the £5 discount is deducted instantly, this seems to be knocking the Asda 99p a litre for petrol for six!
Can I redeem this on Monday too?
"Paypal wallet error"
help please:)
ill update after ive used it
I managed to claim this 3 times using families paypals accounts, a great offer not every day you get £15 of free diesel!
You do not need to sign up for the loyalty card system, simply activate the promo on paypal and link it to the shell app, fill up a fiver and go!
See what happens:)
Well done to you guys who managed it tho. If only mine showed up properly on my Paypal account, I would've taken advantage of this as well!
Within that app register for the fill up and go feature
Link account to your PayPal
Save the PayPal offer at bottom of this page
Scan QR code at participating garage
Fill up
Go
And the question is as above which app do I have to scan QR code with?
and you said which app to get offer not to scan
Thanks
