Its a big orange box with a sleeve and the writing on it is not english. I cant comment on the inside as its for a christmas prezzie but i have heard everything else inside is in English including the manual.

Almost certainly uplay as it's ubisoft. All their newer steam games just launch uplay through steam

Yeah bummer, even when it's via steam it's not so bad, I like to keep everything consolidated to one or two services and Uplay doesn't have enough good games to make it worth it.
