Normally £50 at PC World and Argos but now reduced to £29.99.
There's conflicting reports of whether the 6gb lasts 30 days or 90 days. I suspect it will be 90 days which has a value of about £15. So you're paying £15 for the Mifi which can be unlocked for a quid.
I got this from Amazon on a lightning deal, great little Mifi, especially when coupled with EE's 100gb SIM offers (there's one running at the minute). Can confirm that the original 6gb lasts 90 days.

no, that's not strictly true....
The £19 item from Curry's requires you to take out a monthly contract.
This deal posted by @SoFar (now unfortunately expired) was £29.99 for a PAYG device (Osprey Mini 2) and also gave you a free 6GB EE Sim (worth £15 on eBay/Amazon)
Thanks again to SoFar for posting this deal. I managed to get one for my parents and should go well with the 200GB EE CHRISTMAS100 promo

Was a bit worried at lunchtime today when came to setup yesterday's £29.99 collection that first eBay unlock a/c said something like 'suspended' [though when I just checked it looked OK again], but fortunately the other eBay search result - seller lotulinek - delivered me a working 99p code within 40 mins on a Saturday lunchtime. Just off to sort out a 100GB/m (no need for that unlock) EE SIM now... http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/free-ee-sim-for-10-get-100gb-data-for-2-months-2301962

While expired in sense could not place an order/reservation today at yesterday's price, reservations made yesterday for collection by close today were still valid at the price when reserved!
This must be an improvement/change in Argos' T&Cs in recent months as I recall them historically saying you had to pay the price applicable at time of collection, not reservation.
From their help...
"If I reserve an item and the price changes before I collect it, what price will I pay in store?
"You will pay the lower price if you take proof of your valid reservation and confirm to the store the lower price before paying.
"Please note if you do not inform the staff that you reserved it at the lower price, or if your reservation has expired, the price to pay would be the current selling price on the day."

Might be worth verifying it powers down when charging, as it'd be logical for it not to... I'd check for you but haven't picked mine up yet!
Another disadvantage of this one vs some Huawei's is there's no sockets for external antenna but it's so cheap I'm going to give it a go.

So long as you have a device connected wirelessly to the Mifi box it shouldn't power down. If nothing is connected to it for 30 minutes it will power off completely and require switching it back on at the box....
it's that that I would find annoying as I need mine to replace my main router and want it on the mains full time even when nothing is connected to it. I would have to keep getting up off my lazy ass to power it up.

Depending on your lifestyle everyone should have a cheapish unlocked mifi - there's a guy called urban storms on ebay sells t mobile (can still use internet non stop after your allowance is finished) internet modems like this, or sim only, and a 6 month top up is around 27 pounds.....so after the initial purchase it's under a fiver a month for constant internet.
Might not suit everyone, but I carry mine around ( 3 years old and battery life around 4 hours) and can get internet on phones and tablets miles away from any houses if I want to do a quick ebay purchase for example - got a nokia smartphone for a tenner on cpw payg upgrade, and keep it with no sim card for internet use.......suits me and I make use of it several times a week.

See post 26 - register for the EE Christmas SIM, which comes with 100GB data per month for two months for the princely sum of £10 (which you also get to use as credit after the 2 months are up if you defer it).
