This was posted before at £48 but is now just £32.79 (select Black and EU)

DOOGEE Y100X 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass Android 5.0 3G Smartphone - BLACK 135305901

5.0 inch HD OGS Screen / MTK6582 Quad Core 1.3GHz /5MP+8MP Camera / 1GB RAM 8GB ROM

Got to be worth it for the screen alone!

Daul Sim too.
- topss

For anyone still struggling to get this price:

Click deal link.
Change 'Warehouse Options' to 'EU'
Near top right of page change the 'Ship to' option to UK and the currency to '£ GBP'. Or of course any other appropriate country/currency.
It may still show as £48+, but add to cart and it should then drop to the deal price.
- topss

Clear ordering instructions, hopefully :)
For anyone not already registered on the site, before starting the order go to the top right hand section of the page and alter the 'Ship to' to UK, then alter the 'USD' to GBP.
Further down the page, (below the name, and short description of the phone), change 'Warehouse Options' from 'China' to EU, and select 'Color' as Black
The price should then show as £32.79, if it doesn't, put it in your basket, and the price should change to £32.79.

1st sentence of the deal description.

"(select Black and EU)"

Honestly, if you need instructions to work out this deal, a doogee is probably not for you.
Perhaps consider an iPhone.

If paying by PayPal, their currency exchange rate may make the final price slightly higher, my order, placed earlier this morning, came to £34.05.
I have also added this to the original post.

I suggest you learn to read what it actually says on website before ordering.
It says despatched within a set number of days - not delivered in the set number of days.
If it said despatched within 1-2 days it means they post it out within that time period, then you have to wait for how ever long the couriers take to deliver it. Which when paying such a low price is unlikely to be a next day delivery service.

Anyone used this in a dual sim setup with freedompop? I can receive calls on both SIMS but only receive texts on the FP one, and can only dial/text out on the FP one regardless of the sim I choose because of their app. I need to be able to receive texts at least on the second sim (asda mobile).

I assume that your handset has arrived, albeit a day or so later than expected? My only critical observation of the whole buying experience would be the despatch date was one day longer than suggested at the point of purchase, but I certainly don't feel scammed by that. I have since ordered other items from GearBest and I assume you too may now feel more confortable to consider placing further orders with GB in the future ?

After a few days use it appears that the battery has improved. This phone is so good it's absurd. I bought it out of curiosity and meant for it to be temporary but now I'm left wondering why I should pay £100-£200 for a handset.

The x5 has two sim slots, both micro sim, and the y100x has one micro sim slot, and one normal sized sim. I had to cut my normal sim down with scissors to get it into the X5. It wasn't that hard, plenty of tutorials online.

simes to lmountbatten
21 Nov 15 #300
Go to settings - sim cards and check that the "Three" sim card is showing and switched on.
Then underneath you should be able to choose which sim is used for mobile data ( if you only have the one sim installed it will be the "three" sim shown automatically )

If they are ok but still no mobile internet then you need to turn data on ( swipe down twice from top of screen and there is a button to turn data on/off )

If the sim isn't listed you have probably installed it the wrong way round.
genemeanie to lmountbatten

Are you sure its the right way around as I got it wrong to begin with. Look at the picture of the SIM 1 card to see where the cut of corner goes. The contacts are facing upwards towards you

Very impressed. I thought battery life was going to let it down when active. but its great on standby so far. Nothing annoying to declare. Two pin charger (supplied with cheap UK adapter) gets overheated - ditched, using the blackberry charger. I have to question why I would want a big brand (and expensive) phone. Duh! How would Apple survive if I didn't contribute to their fat margins.

The phone is great in every respect (even at twice the cost) with the important exception of the battery life which I am finding to be really mediocre and will not last a whole day even with light use. It does charge quite quickly though. My experience however seems at odds with the reviews so I'd be interested to hear from other users here? The battery is however replaceable and you can buy a spare one from DX for under a fiver (SKU: 410583).

Thanks that works great, I also worked out removing all the icons removes the page. One last thing I couldn't work out, as it probably doesn't do it, was how to make the middle page of 3 the default. 19 Nov 15 #276
Thanks Andy, but here is no indication as to which is the 3g slot, and when I put the full size Asda sim in the phone first, and started the phone up without the second sim, the Asda sim worked OK on 3g, then when I added the '3' sim to the micro sim slot, the Asda sim retained 3g priority, and the '3' sim would not connect. My original set up was inserting the '3' sim first, then adding the Asda sim later, then the '3' sim retained 3g priority and the Asda sim would not connect, so it seems that whichever sim is inserted first, in any slot, takes 3g priority. I have now found some settings that can set the phone to use 3g only, (the default is Auto) so I might try playing with that when I get bored and see whay happens.

It should be under intelligent wakeup ( if its the same as the Y100X )
Under gesture motion - system motion you should also be able to enable double tap on the home button to lock.

This way you can both turn on and turn off without using the power button.
The other gesture controls are really a waste of time as they don't work consistently enough ( all phones are the same )
redmouse2
19 Nov 15 #274
blimey! very impressed with the addition of smart gestures and feature like scheduled auto switch off and on. my phone switches off at 10pm and auto turns on at 6am, good old days of nokia n95! it's got the old nokia style audio profiles i.e general, meeting etc
voice unlock was a breeze to setup but for some reason it always says voice not recognised when actually trying to unlock, maybe a gimmick though? this £32 phone puts my £600 main smartphone to shame. seriously considering ditching the main brands when I'm due my upgrade next year

18 Nov 15 #257
Having problems with the dual sim function. Tried first with just a '3' sim, and later added an Asda sim, and although both sims are recognised, only the '3' sim, which I put in first, and shows 3g, is able to make calls. Later, after I added the Asda sim in the second slot, the Asda sim showed up as 2G, and I couldn't switch between them to use the Asda sim, but it did receive incoming calls. I then took the '3' sim out leaving just the Asda sim and the Asda sim then showed 3g and worked OK. I then put the '3' sim back in and that showed as 2g and I couldn't make calls with that, only the Asda sim. I tried again swapping the sims and got the same result, only one sim would work properly, the one that grabbed the 3g priority. The '3' sim is a micro sim, and the Asda is full size, I had read about other dual sim phones that one sim has to be 2g if a 3g sim is used in one slot, so presumably, the fact that both sims are 3g capable is complicating things and preventing full use of the dual sim facility. is this correct or am I doing something wrong?
AndyRoyd to Richard_Lawrence
19 Nov 15 1 #266
Probably partially correct. Standard convention with vast majority of dual-sim phones is that only one slot offers 3G. This is potentially restrictive when using UK 3 network as that network's sim has to be used in 3G mode (as dictated by the 3 network), so when using two sims where one is UK 3, the 3 sim has to go in the 3G slot.

I did read somewhere, or see on a YouTube review, (can't find it now), that if you remove the original screen protector, then that will cure the problem. It was suggested that the screen protector that is fitted on arrival may be just the standard plastic screen cover to protect it in transit. Mine has not arrived yet so I cannot confirm this.

Phone arrived this morning, comes with hard clear case, a screen protector applied, a spare screen protector, charging cable, headphones (with mic and 'answer button') and EU plug (with cheap-looking adapter that I won't be risking)

All in all, a decent level of kit in the box. The phone looks ok (reminds me of a Galaxy S3 crossed with an iPhone 3GS) but I've not had a chance to play with it to any great extent.

@cb-uk "GearBest + Yodel = Looks like the perfect combination to ensure an item never arrives intact ". Thats what I thought and it did make me laugh

Yodel is now saying they are expecting at midnight and it is still the supplier. Its getting very exciting this. I am house bound untill friday after an operation so its giving something to do.

They have probably advertised the phone, then collected the money for it, and used the money collected to purchase the stock prior to shipping  I have not had any tracking info, even though I was told through c/s that my phone has been shipped, and my order is still showing as Processing.

I think it was a simple case of having limited stock at the EU warehouse and then getting swamped as a result of HUKD (and other deal site) orders.

My order is still showing as "processing" even though it seems to have been dispatched.

I've just checked my JN number on the Yodel website. It doesn't have full tracking info yet, but has recognised the number (apparently!).

It looks like GearBest only dispatched the phone after I emailed them to kick off about it.

A lot of people bashing Gearbest. I have ordered twice from their Eu warehouse and both were delivered in the week.I expect this one will take longer due to the increased sales from various offers
AndyRoyd
15 Nov 15 #173
Coley65: I will feel "ripped off / scammed" only by the combination of the item failing to be delivered and PayPal refusing to reimburse. In the meantime I am comfortable to wait a few days for delivery, and waiting those few days for delivery (or not) will not jeopardise nor enhance my options for reimbursement, should I have to go down that route. I think we have both made our perceptions clear and I shall politely refrain from further similar comment.

I suspect some frustration may be impinging judgement, although some frustration if not caution is understandable. My experience with GB deliveries has been satisfactory with no issues. I ordered this handset on 11 Nov from EU warehouse and fully expect it to arrive, sometime, soon-ish, but regardless, I am comfortable that my money is safe otherwise I would not have placed the order.
littletime
15 Nov 15 #170
Lot of people here understandably frustrated (like me) that the "Ships within 1-2 business days" is clearly BS. I'm not in a hurry to receive the handset and have happily waited 5 weeks for stuff from China as that is how the expectation was set. In the case however having set my expectation as above I do feel somewhat irritated. I don't doubt it will arrive and I know I'm covered even if it does not arrive, however in future I will think twice about using GB. If their sales are this unprofessional then what must their customer services be like? My recent experience with their competitor BangGood was much better.

I bought this and then canceled it 6 hours later - got my refund the following day. Bought the cubot H1 on 12/11 just before midnight and it was shipped from Hungary to CZ less than 24 hours later. Hopefully it should be ok on arrival.

I think the sheer numbers of orders for doogee and other deals posted here are causing the delay in processing orders. I am not defending Gear best cos their reputation is p**s p**r, however i have many problems with many normal UK retailers and at least their name is not Vodafone.......

Richard_Lawrence
14 Nov 15 #162
That appears to be a screen shot for when ordering from China, not from the EU Warehouse. The information that I have provided regarding shipping times is the correct information for this phone if ordered from the EU.
cb-uk
14 Nov 15 #161
Then again, they probably oversold their EU warehouse stock by a factor of 100x (given that this offer was featured on here and numerous other deal sites) and are either trying to rapidly pull in stock from China, or just stalling for time.
tek-monkey
14 Nov 15 1 #160
It also says in the shipping tab on the phone itself:

http://css.gearbest.com/imagecache/GB2/images/domeimg/good_info1.gif

Chill, it will arrive. This isn't amazon, you are paying silly money for what this phone is you can't expect them to courier it to you as well for free. If you really feel that strongly drop them an email, but the information was there to see. Use UK based companies if you want something fast, but that is why you pay more.
Richard_Lawrence
14 Nov 15 #159
Here is another quote from the same page:-
What's the Total Delivery Time? (Please use this formula to determine when your order will arrive)
Total Delivery Time = Processing Time + Packaging Time + Shipping Time

So Gearbest have clearly distinguished the Shipping time as being a separate process, therefore if it says 1-2 days for expedited shipping, it should mean 1-2 days after leaving their warehouse, it's in their own words.
tek-monkey
14 Nov 15 #158
Fair enough, but even then shipping is the act of sending it out.

It'll turn up, I reckon about a week on Monday myself. The Chinese warehouse stuff takes about 3 weeks usually, sometimes 4, so I'm thinking about 10 days for the EU under current circumstances (any idea where their warehouse is? Or even if they have one as such, as opposed to numerous drop shipping locations?). If desperate I use amazon prime, for anything else you have to accept that even a basic letter nowdays within the UK takes 2 days.
tek-monkey
14 Nov 15 #156
I can't see a single item on gearbest that has a shipping time, just a dispatch time.
Richard_Lawrence to tek-monkey
14 Nov 15 #157
If you are registered, and logged in with Gearbest, just go through the process of ordering the Doogee Smart Phone, selecting EU Warehouse, and add the item to the cart, next click on Proceed to Checkout, where it clearly states:-
Expedited Shipping 1 - 2 business days £0.00 (This line was also copied and pasted from the website, after using the instructions preceding it).
Richard_Lawrence
14 Nov 15 #155
It seems that you are having problems with misreading, all the details I entered above, I copied and pasted from the Gearbest website, (which are shown when ordering the item), so the details I provided must be accurate.
simes
14 Nov 15 #154
Yet another person misreading the website.
It does NOT say"
it actually says:
which means 1-2 days is the time taken to despatch the item - the shipping time is after these 1-2 days. So if they use Yodel ( which many of these seem to do ) you could be looking at 1-2 days to despatch then 3-5 days for Yodel to deliver . so about 7 working days in total.
Richard_Lawrence
14 Nov 15 #153
I have just checked, and what it says now for EU warehouse purchases, is what it said when I ordered, (99.99% certain)
Available Shipping Methods - Expedited Shipping (ticked as default).
Estimated Shipping - 1-2 Business Days
Shipping Cost (weight:0.5 kg) - £0.0
No delivery yet, my account is still showing as Processing, even though I was informed by Gearbest, (on the 12th of November), that it has been shipped, so it should be here by Monday at the latest in my case.

14 Nov 15 #152

13 Nov 15 #151
That's the order processing time. Delivery time is on top.

Given these orders were placed on 11th November (the busiest sales day in the Chinese calendar, so all Chinese sites are overflowing with orders) a realistic delivery time is around 10 days from the EU warehouse once the order has completed the processing stage, maybe longer.

I suggest you learn to read what it actually says on website before ordering.
It says despatched within a set number of days - not delivered in the set number of days.
If it said despatched within 1-2 days it means they post it out within that time period, then you have to wait for how ever long the couriers take to deliver it. Which when paying such a low price is unlikely to be a next day delivery service.

http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/comparison/b1a03d9f6

To be fair practically identical phones, though the X5 looks to be slightly bigger/heavier (whether this is actually noticeable will be debateable)
This site suggests that the Y100X has an 8mp camera not 5mp interpolated to 8mp, though again whether this is noticeable in practice is unlikely, as both cameras are likely to be pretty poor.
X5 has a slightly bigger battery.

In real world use these 2 phones would be almost identical. I'd say that the Y100X looks a little nicer, but that's subjective, and neither are particularly good looking.

A price of around £35 is probably about right really given the obvious shortcomings.

Both are entirely *adequate*, but to convince yourself that either will be impressive would be futile.
Impressive "for the price" and nothing else.

And yes - I ordered a Y100X.
AndyRoyd

simes to BIG_IP
12 Nov 15 #116
I can't say i have seen any different roms for this model, but to be honest there isn't a need for one as i have not found any problems or issues other than the unwanted random game notifications ( that are easily stopped by disabling DG browser).
The Doogee comes with decent firmware .( my previous Newman phone had lots of roms available , but all had issues)

The pop-up adds are not actually pop-ups its just notifications that show on the lock screen that same way text messages and other notifications do.Its a very simply fix to stop them by going into settings - apps - all apps , scroll down to DG browser then select force stop , then disable .

This is a great phone for this kind of money.
I have had mine for two months

The camera is decent in good light. The screen is excellent. In fact the phone in general does not look of fell cheap . it's also pretty light for a 5 inch screen phone. I an a light user but easily get three days out of the battery between charges.
There are no issues with it at all which is unusual for China phones.

The only thing I would advise is to stop and disable the app called DG browser. This seems to cause annoying pop up notifications for games. After stopping this app the notifications stopped. There is the standard browser also installed anyway so is not needed.

OP - "(select Black and EU)"
Post 9 - "It hasn't expired. Still £32 - £34. Select Black and EU."
Post 13 - "It's still there, make sure You choose EU Warehouse"
Post 15 - "That's shipped from China, from the EU, it's still £48."
Post 18 - "It is $74.10 shipped from EU and $84.99 from China."
Post 21 - "It's £34.02 after selecting "EU" & "black" "
Post 25 - "Then try a little harder. Select EU, THEN add it to the basket and look at the price that shows in your basket "

Post - 43 - "ive just clicked on the photo and its saying its $84.99 so what am i doing wrong , or has the price gone up"

Hmmmm I wonder why after 42 posts people started to get a bit annoyed at someone asking about the price?

not everybody reads the full description straight away.i must admit i hadn't and although i had changed the currency i was baffled how to change the EU option even though it was right in front of me.i generally read the title then go back to the full description to see if there are any codes

Hi Richard Thank you for being nice and letting people know what to do , because of your answer i was able to order the phone and get the deal as this is what the site is about getting good deals , its so refreshing to get some one with manners and who is nice about people making mistakes or missing important information that was not very clear , once again thanks

i made a mistake of missing the important info that was put in brackets , a few others missed it but what was disgusting was the answers some people gave to us who was asking for some help , the fgact that a few people never seen the info in the brackets meant it was not as clear to us and it was to others , but the aswers to the ones asking for help was horrible i hope all you who gave sarcastic answers to me anf the others who missed the info get it back when you make a mistake or miss something , there was no need for the nastiness in your answers , well done ,

11 Nov 15 #68
PayPal says £33.95
Richard_Lawrence
11 Nov 15 5 #67
Clear ordering instructions, hopefully
For anyone not already registered on the site, before starting the order go to the top right hand section of the page and alter the 'Ship to' to UK, then alter the 'USD' to GBP.
Further down the page, (below the name, and short description of the phone), change 'Warehouse Options' from 'China' to EU, and select 'Color' as Black
The price should then show as £32.79, if it doesn't, put it in your basket, and the price should change to £32.79.
If paying by PayPal, their currency exchange rate may make the final price slightly higher, my order, placed earlier this morning, came to £34.05.
I have also added this to the original post.

I'm loving the comments about the price. How hard is it to follow instructions to get this price? Too hard for some people, it seems.

More importantly, though, I bought a phone from Gearbest and it is *stacked* with adware. You need to root your phone and very, very carefully remove the software that's creating the ads. It's easy to make a mistake because I did.

I bet this phone is the same.

Satan_Claws
11 Nov 15 2 #60
Not wishing to be mean but not only did it say what to do in the OP the same question had been answered 5 times in the posts before yours. There is no need for people to be rude but when the same question is asked and answered 5 times it must get a little irritating to keep reading people asking that question again.

thanks for your help , i dont like iphones , i have a oneplus one phone you would have seen that in my earlier posts , but am i the only one who made the same mistake no , i have held my hand up and said i never read the OP properly , when something is put in brackets its means an after thought , its just me glancing at the OP and not picking up on the EU option that was in the brackets , again it was not that clear becaiuse of the brackets

i will tell you what theres a lot of people on here with anger issues that would rather insult people instead of helping or help and still insult , this must be a site for perfect people who never make mistakes ffs ive admitted i never read the OP properly what more do you want blood , have you thought i might not be a good reader , again there is a lot of insulting people on this site , well that's life my mother used to say if you have nothing to say nice then dont say nothing at all , some people one here need to take that advice it will serve them well

no need to be rude , you a hole instead of insulting people whpo would rip your head off if you said to their face you could have just said use the EU option you whopper im from liverpool if your from liverpool lets meet so you can say those kind words to my face or i will come and meet you , we can see how arrogant you are then , you have hurt my feelings divvie , its not hard to be nice , i hope tou get stuck some where or make a mistake i will keep my eye out for your posts just to see if you make any mistakes so i can buzz of you then i will insult your intelligence if you have any ,

11 Nov 15 #53
after reading the OP , i went onto the EU shipping and the price came down but it said that the promotion has ended so i have not ordered one just incase i dont get it for that price ,

if people still want to try , when you click on the offer select EU shipping and the colour black this is how tyo get the price of the OP

i never read the OP properly so my bad but i hope this has made it a bit more clearer for some one as im afraid to say that in the OP it was not that clear you had to choose the EU warehouse options and the colour black , this is were some people were getting the higher price like i did at 1st , but good find OP and heat added

1st sentence of the deal description.

Honestly, if you need instructions to work out this deal, a doogee is probably not for you.
Perhaps consider an iPhone.

This is a great deal, heated. A detailed review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eweqimcTsM

I picked up the Doogee X5 Pro the other day for under £50 posted from the UK warehouse (another hotukd deal) and I must say I'm very impressed. It's a 2GB/16GB phone compared to this, with a slightly faster processor and all the UK 4G bands (this is 3G). Been using it as my main driver now and I really don't miss my LG G2 (though that's not the newest word in tech!). Everything works, even the GPS which locks within seconds. Older Mediatek SOCs had issues with their GPS performance but these seem to have been ironed out now.

11 Nov 15 1 #50
all ive done is click on the photo and getting a different price , no need to gloat about people making mistakes Ando maybe you will make a mistake once in you life so dont be too hard on people whp are getting different prices , have some humility and help people get the deals instead of buzzing off people , plus if there was instructions i would follow them ,but i have not come across any instructions yet, but if you know let me know
