Not in the town though, very much on the fringe. Really nice hotel, great location for heading off to explore the Lakes and the Fells. (And I don't work for them, I've stayed quite a few times).

This is a bargain. I know this hotel well. It's not really the Lakes though but pretty close.
Food in the restaurant is excellent.

Stayed at this hotel in September using this same deal, we had a great time, staff were lovely, food top quality and the lakes stunning, what more do you want? We did have nice weather though!!!

Keswick is a good half hour drive down the road. But I really don't know why anyone would want to visit cumbria in the winter. If you have never been feel free to pm me, but there's next to no shopping centres or stuff to do in crap weather, locals will tell you there is, but trust me there isn't.

So, don't visit an area of natural beauty in the winter due to no major shopping centres??! What a clown.

It's only 2 days, sure you could manage without a shopping centre for that time.

i live a few miles down the road. Not a bad hotel but its a good 30mins drive to Keswick and 40 to carlisle / Penrith. Cockermouth is ten mins away. All i would say is its calles the lake district for a reason. Expect it to be wet and windy and you will have a good time. You dont come to one of the most beautiful parts of the country to shop
