wanted one more so tried arnold, basford, on the shelf 17.50 but none left.

final try at Castle marina nottingham. 6 on the shelf but priced at 75 quid. price checked at till but still 75. Thought I would chance it at customer services, showed them the receipt etc etc but the store manager was having none of it saying they were different machines and although the box was identical the machine was different. interestingly she also said she had scanned the system and couldnt find any in stock nationally (not sure about this, think she wanted rid of us).

have noticed there are two different model numbers for sale- the 17.50 one is the TAS1252GB and the other model (which has been posted on another deal) is TAS1202GB. big sticker on the box so worth checking first.

Might help someone if they go out searching!

This is £40 online but in two stores in South Birmingham it's £100.

I got a tassimo t40 for free a while back
Used it for a short while and now it just eats dust. Pods cost to much and the drink level you get per pod is terrible. Just binned probably £30 worth of Pods the other day as they were left to sit for too long.

I now make my own coffees with a milk frother, syrups etc.

Comparing the machine to home made, I find the machine a waste of time in my experience.

I'm new to the game here. I'm pretty much the only coffee drinker in my family of husband and 2 late teen children. I am tempted but would like one that can do hot choc aswell.

Is there any way around the pod system, can you cheat the system and refill for example. As I said I have no knowledge about these things. I had a wander around Currys last evening as i had time to kill before picking my daughter up and these got my attention. i wasnt going to buy on an impulse so thought i would do some research, and what better place than here to get good honest opinion! so sorry for hijacking this thread, hope thats ok?

there seems loads of options on offer, too bewildering for me. I guess it's a bit like the printer situation, ie you get the coffee maker cheapish then get hit by the high cost of the refills?

Are there still any sub £100 coffee machines that you can get those re usable pods for so it's cheap to use? Whats the best option for someone that doesn't like gimmicks and expensive proprietary pods?

Price checked tonight at till in Brentwood sainsburys and still £40.

Get a lavazza machine from Tesco. £40 I think I saw them. Best coffee. Def won't stay in the cupboard.

Got one on my desk at work and I only use it for black coffee which beats filter hands down. I buy the pods bulk to last me to the next decent offer. Last time was a box of 80 pods for £15 then buy 3 get 1 free from Amazon working out at 14 pence a coffee

Gathering dust in my kitchen this. Pods even at their cheapest will work out at around 20p a cup..

Agree, Nespresso is best pod, but more expensive altogether.

You get a decent coffee within 60secs.They're super convenient. I wouldn't be without my tassimo. Even though I do recycle I do feel a bit guilty about the amount of plastic used for each cup.

Nespresso pods are a lot nicer. But the machines are also a lot dearer.
