Paris, 1789. The French Revolution turns a once-magnificent city into a place of terror and chaos. Its cobblestoned streets run red with the blood of commoners who dare to rise up against an oppressive aristocracy. Yet as the nation tears itself apart, a young man named Arno will embark upon an extraordinary journey to expose the true powers behind the Revolution. His pursuit will throw him into the middle of a ruthless struggle for the fate of a nation, and transform him into a true Master Assassin.
Introducing Assassin’s Creed Unity, the blockbuster franchise’s new chapter powered by the all new Anvil engine, rebuilt from the ground up for new gen. From the storming of the Bastille to the execution of King Louis XVI, experience the French Revolution as never before – and help the people of France carve an entirely new destiny.
How do people rate this compared to the current one? I'm early in but so far very much enjoying Syndicate. I skipped Unity because it seemed with the step up to next-gen the series had taken a bit of a back-step after the excellent Black Flag. However, if it's as good as Syndicate, which is by no means amazing but does a very competent job, I'd be tempted to pick up Unity once I'm done with Jacob and Evie (and Fallout 4 of course).

It's awful, it nearly killed the AC series. It left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. I wouldn't recommend it

It reminded me a bit of AC II to begin with and I had high hopes. Very nice visually but then the story became quite dull and there is so much filler on the map. I completed the main story and traded it, couldn't be bothered with the free dlc.

I've just finished this game and I found it very enjoyable. Yes there is a lot of filler (as with most other AC's), but I thought it had some great new mechanics. Like being able to disguise yourself as any npc for a small amount of time for cunning killing opportunities! I have played and completed every other AC game by the way, and it's not the best in the series (VI was for me) but for under £10, definitely get it.

It seems cool to hate this game... my wife has played them all and she ranks this one as up there. Not as good as Revelations and Brotherhood, definitely not as good as Black Flag but 103 times better than AC III... Syndicate is her Xmas present.
Just asked her and she said "for a tenner you'd be mad not to buy it"

Black flag was amazing and still is, unity a big step backwards from that but still a good 6/10 game... Not played this new one yet but heard positive things, in terms of quality/playability it supposedly sits between the two.
Assassins creed games never hold value, it'll a be in the GAME sale before Xmas along with the new NFS for around £25.

Indeed they do, a lot of games are very price fluid (outside of Nintendo games, CoD and FIFA). I've not bought a game over £25 in a long time now.
