I hope you're not saying that TN is better than IPS and mis-informing folk.
IPS is superior in picture quality compared to TN which is basically washed out colours and poor viewing angles.

I think they've got better.... certainly older AOC models were never great but I've got a couple of 23" and 27" IPS monitors and they've been excellent, except the useless micro speakers that are pretty much crap for anything other than making beeping noises or such like.

Which ones were you looking at on Amazon? Could you share the links please?
Cheers.

Lol, was looking at a monitor on Amazon in one window, replied to this thread thinking it was that one. This one is still a decent deal, but for a little more there are some really good ones on Amazon atm.

depends on the use case. gaming usually prefers faster response times, which TN offers, whereas overall picture quality and colour reproduction is better on IPS panels which helps with video/picture editing and such. IPS panels also usually offer better viewing angles.
for general office/surfing use you likely wont notice a difference unless they are side by side.
therefore the extra price is only worth it for use cases which rely on better colour reproduction.

As someone whos lost touch with monitor specs would the extra £20 be worth it?

Built in speakers? Would be perfect for me if it has.

This is the E2476 model. The IPS model is I2476. The one in this deal is 100% not IPS.
1080p and 60Hz needs adding to description and or the title

Is a 3 year warranty from ebuyer any use? They're often mentioned as liking to play around the edges of their responsibilities to their customers.

Dunno to be honest. It's not applicable in this case though. It's a manufacturers warranty.

The 3 year warranty is with AOC. Anything beyond a year certainly and usually 30 days will be with the manufacturer.

It is 1080p with 1 ms refresh rate. I would say this would be pretty awesome for gaming. It is IPS, so better imaging, but technically not quite as good as TN TFT, but you wont really notice a difference unless you are crazily picky (considering you are asking this question in the first place I presume not).

Unless you're a competitive CS or DOTA player you're fine.
