useful if you are hosting the Indian cricket team but 20 kilos of rice is quite a lot ( and I am a lover of Basmati rice)

an average rice portion is about 60grams dry weight so 1 kilo is about 15 portions. 20kg is 300 servings , assuming you have rice twice a week that would last 2 people about 18 months , seems rather a lot to stockpile unless one is expecting armageddon . however a family of 4 who have rice daily would get through it. I just want to see more deals that allow smaller quantities as many low income people live alone and cant afford to buy restaurant quantities to get deals. just sayin

Good rice (like the above) is dead easy.
Covered pan cup of rice to a cup and half of water. Bring to boil turn down to simmer for 13 minutes, stand for 5 more.
No sticking, no stirring needed.
I tired for years before realising (and speaking to Indian folk), its all about the quality of rice)

Be mindful to freeze the bags for a few days if buying rice at this volume as by leaving it in the bag for ages you could end up with weevils.

unfortunately my freezer is not big enough to accommodate a 10kg bag

interesting advice, i did not realise that freezing would protect the rice. i presume that rice cannot be damaged by being in the freezer

Why can you freeze uncooked rice ?

Yes, very much so. It won't affect the rice, just keep it sealed.
If you're having problems putting the bag in, take some shelves out for a few days.
