ASOS-branded items are very unreliable in terms of quality.
I've had a pair of boots from them that literally fell apart within months. I also bought a satchel from ASOS with fabric that is already starting to peel off after a few weeks. Very disappointing.
They also have big discount sales (up to 70% off) so frequently that you'd be better off waiting for one of those to come along.

I mostly ever buy their own branded t shirts, shorts, shirts and underwear. I would recommend these as the quality and price would beat most others. However would be sceptical against more valuable items such as jeans, coats and shoes

I've had a pair of ASOS jeans and ASOS black chinos for a while now, and they've held out quite well (1-2 years later and still looking good).
I think the lack in quality really depends on what exactly you're going for, since they may use poor materials and manufacturing methods for one product type, but great for other product types.

+1. Saying this from at least 3 to 4 purchases. All turned out to be rubbish. I wont touch their own brand with a bargepole. ..

Agreed. Their chinos, trousers, sweaters, belts, sunglasses, shoes, and shirts tend be absolute pap. Stick to the basics, I.e. T.shirts, undies, socks.
