Hot from me because of price but I only buy and fit double pole for extra piece of mind.

Great price for a great bit of British design.
Single Pole (as in this deal) switches just Live, whereas Double Pole switches Live and Neutral- so there's an additional safety feature on DP sockets. This is in conjunction with the numerous other safety features already part of the British plug design. Plenty of info on t'interwebs.

Personally go with double pole switching these days. I also got a box of cheap screwfix select sockets a few years back, I binned 2 out of 10 as they caused repeated nuisance tripping of RCD. New sockets fixed problem, sometimes worth paying a little more for a known brand.

I bought one of these in a previous deal and it kept tripping the breaker. Fitted a DP skt solved the problem.

Good price but again the same as above and normally go double pole. These from Toolstation is what I normally go for.

I would never buy any sockets, and plug (tops) other than MK . They are simply better made.

Don't know much about sockets and light switches but I went for crabtree and they are brilliantly satisfying when pressed.
Can ask if anyone knows if crabtree are double poled?
Plus, I can recall them costing much more than these for a double socket.

Those look identical to the Screwfix Select ones I had problems with.

Are you saying these are Double Pole? I believe the SP stands for Single Pole i.e.they will only switch the live.

Sorry, yes they are Single Pole. Will edit my post to make it clearer- was originally stating the difference between SP and DP but realise it could be a bit clearer

Heat from me, had these replaced all of our old socket in our old house. Builder recommended MK but misses was more concern about look and didn't like the fact you could see the screws. Had them in for over 3 months now and haven't experience any issue. Also had the USB socket from screwfix n they are so so handy and charge my phone and tablet very quick.

yeah, for a couple of usb metal ports in plastic, made in Chinese sweatshops, a further 8 quid-odd :disappointed:
