So we all know that from 5th October the new law comes in regarding carrier bags and that they will cost 5p each. Well from 5th October Sainsburys are ditching their vest carrier bags in favour of a new bag for life they are bringing out, this will be a similar size to the current bags and cost you 5p. When compared to a vest carrier this bag is a lot stronger, much more durable and definitely reusable. In my mind a great deal if you forget to bring your bags with you.

And you can buy this at Sainsburys, then nip over the road to Aldi and save yourself a fortune.

I reuse my carrier bags as bin bags. many people have bags full of bags to use as garbage bins.
now I'll just have to buy lots of big black bin bags and have them lying around putting out the same amount of plastic! so now I'm buying more plastic bags and they need to make more bags for life which don't last and need to be replaced.

Why pay 5p for a crappy bag, when you can have one of these £1 for life trolleys?

They're half the size of normal sainsbury's bags for life. Essentially a 10p one cut in half, same design n everything.

make sure your next hot UK Deal purchase has a bigger reduction than 5p off the rrp and then you have time to find something else to cry about, charging for bags is to help prevent people from discarding plastic that can be re used
think!

The best carry bags are from Ocado, big, sturdy and long-life, not like one-medium-pizza-you-can-fit crappy bags from Sainsburys/Tesco/Asda/Morisons which tear before you come home. Seriously, do one shopping with ocado every 6 months and keep the bags as they are much more convenient.

I asked my Ocado delivery driver if they were going to have to charge 5p per carrier bag he wasn't sure. There had been some discussion about it where Ocado were trying to claim 'immunity' (for want of a better word) but so far it hadn't been successful. So not sure how that will resolve!

I know asda online deliveries will be bagless unless you pay a 40p flat fee which they'll be donating to charity

Sainsburys will replace it for free too.
