The £ shops normally have those 'Thinsulate' type gloves which are OK, but these take £ store gloves to a whole new level! I don't know if they'd be any good for skiing, but for surviving a typical UK winter and keeping your hands all warm and toasty, I'd say pretty good.
Not sure about colour scheme (maybe others available in different stores) , but nicely padded, thermal fleece lining, and adjustable wrist band, and a real one size fits all, as even my gorilla hands fit in these.Whatever, for 99p these were a bargain!

Great to bung in the car for emergencies, for proper skiing I'd probably spend just a bit more and with my ski skills I need all the help I can get.

That's a really good idea, I always have a few things in the the car for emergencies, at this time of year especially, a blanket, tool / med kit, torch, gloves, hi-vis jacket, hazard warning triangle, bulb set, foil wrap, snow shovel, plastic tarp ...yeah, probably a bit over the top, but you never know. It's about as close to being a prepper as I get, and most are from £ stores, or were very cheap.

If they're meant to be used for skiing then they have to be wind proof. My guess is that they aren't, unless they're some clearance stock, I don't think you could make money selling gloves like that for 99p.

I'm not quite sure what you'd mean by windproof, but they do have a strap/buckle around the wrist, so you can tighten them to your wrist size which would prevent wind and chills entering the gloves I would think.

I wish we had one of these stores near by. I use cheap ski gloves from home bargains for my motorcycle. I loose gloves so much these are great for my short commute.

It means that when the wind is blowing against them, your finger are protected from wind chill. Just try riding a bike in the cold with gloves that aren't wind proof and you'll see what I mean.

Just an update to say that I went to another branch over the weekend, and they had different colour options, so as well as the orange, they also had blue and grey in the same overall design style.
