It's a damn sad day when even Panasonic
are investing in Vestel's superior Technical
and build skills to bring us sets like this.

I agree, that's why it is sad.

People seem to be so obsessed with brands they don't stop to research (maybe they don't care about picture quality). I recently installed a 65" curved Sony 4K for a customer with no 4K source, they didn't want the 4K sticker removed.

That's the exact kind of trust a brand is supposed to instil. So you can just buy a TV from Panasonic and know you're getting a decent, quality set. That's how it's supposed to work anyway... That's how it should work!
I don't think it's widely known to check into the actual manufacturer of your TV set. I rarely buy anything without doing my research, but this site is the only one I've ever seen mention Vestel tbh so I don't think it's fair to call out people for "not doing their research". Going to trustedreviews or similar, I've never seen them say "but make sure to check it's not a Vestel model!!"

Haha. You're just butt hurt as you wanted it to stick on your tv instead. No you are right. People actually don't care and honestly couldn't tell if it slapped them in the face.

It was more the "obsessed with brands" bit I was referring to tbh. I just meant people should be able to say 'that's a Panasonic, it's a good TV' and really not need to dig much deeper than that. Especially not have to dig to the level of who actually manufactures the TV.
I mean, I do now. Because of HUKD. But I don't think I would've found out generally

"£200 ish" for a 48 inch, 4K + 3D + freeview HD + smart tv capabilities !!! Let me know when you find a refurbished tv for this price. In fact let us all know on HUKD. By the time you do find a deal -8K televisions will be with us..........

Did you find a code for your sky remote?

Yup exactly. Where are National, Sierra, Fisher, Philips, Zenith, RCA etc today? Some of these have disappeared completely, others have had to pimp their names to gormless Chinese products which bear no connection at all to the original brands.

Good news is films will be coming out in remastered 4K from next year. We will be offered both a Bluray disc and a 4K Bluray disc.
So as I said 2-3 more years and we should have a decent selection. I would rather get a really good 4K then and would rather spend my money on a decent 1080p setup now.

I should mention as there is no mainstream 4K content. A more suitable 4K upgrade would be advisable in the next 2-3 years. Not just yet.

There is plenty of HD content e.g BT, Netflix, HBO and 4k Blu-ray etc...

That's my thinking too. Even though this particular deal is a decent price right now, there's not much to watch on it. Sky isn't even in 1080p yet, never mind true 4K. Handful of Blu-Rays, zero games.

was tempted with this but lots of - reviews as on Richer Sounds.............Although this TV has the added temptation of 4K don't make the same mistake I did. It is seriously lacking specification in other areas and you should consider a non 4K television with a better all round specification.
Firstly, the overall feel of this TV compared to others I have had is very flimsy and cheap feeling. The materials used to make the housing are of very poor quality.
The sound is awful, voices are muffled and are hard to distinguish, especially in movies where there is background noise.
When watching in HD both directly from the TV and other HD sources there was a noticeable synchronisation delay between lip movement and audio, this is one of my biggest irritations.
There were other minor problems as well that all contributed to the overall decision to return this Tv.. Sky customers, beware that you can't program your sky remote to interact with this particular model. BBC iplayer app doesn't work despite it being pre installed.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I forgot to mention that I could not get the TiVo remote to match up with the Panasonic for the sound and mute.
The remote with the Panasonic is very cheap looking and basic as well.

TBH, it makes no difference to me if someone buys this TV. I'm not calling people out though buying this TV thinking you're getting a Panasonic TV (with Panasonic reliability) seems to fly in the face of the HUKD ethos of getting a good deal.

Unless I am mistaken, those reviews are for a 65" different model, with the one at Amazon costing £1,499.
When reading through many comments on HUKD about vestel I tend to take them with a pinch of salt as when I found out that all my TV's were made by them but have not put a foot wrong in more than 5 years, it's difficult to see why they have such negative press./
Like many things, some people will be happy and others not for the same product.
Heat for this one OP as for the price it has great looking specs.

there is feedback for this tv, be careful before you buy it.
Thought it was fairly obvious. People see a cheap 4K Panasonic and give heat even though this is not a Panasonic TV.

I had one for a few weeks and I had to return it.
It switched itself off at least 4 times a day and now and then the picture would disappear and loud static nois came through.
I had enough and bought a LG 4K 49" which is far superior.

I completely believe you.
Just returned a refurbished 50 inch panasonic to Amazon today as it kept changing channels (AV 1 to Hdmi hdmi 2 etc) absolute nightmare.
This TV is tempting but I've gone for a brand new 2015 model 50inch LG TV. Hope it doesn't dissapoint.
