What a load of rubbish, this is a drill with hammer function. I have had this drill for over a year and drilled steel, concrete and wood. It has more then enough power for any of them. It has no problem driving any sort of screw. This was the only drill we had to set up Scare Fest at Alton Towers last year and it done it all with out issue. Sure an impact driver would have been quicker but to say this drill can not do it is madness. Sure its not an SDS drill but it don't pretend to be.

If it was more than one then I would be buying a few just for the batteries! Good deal but drill is lower end of Makita range although will be more than adequate for most DIY users. Shame it doesn't have a light which i find invaluable.

People remember this is just a drill as well  and only a drill really, and not that powerful drill.
I have this model as well and its super handy when you need to drill small holes/pilot holes in wood. But this won't be able to actually act as real hammer drill and drill large holes in concrete or even wood.
Also this wont be able to drive any decent sized screw, for that you need an Impact driver.
Remember the saying- jack of all trades, master of none-this is it!

Complete rubbish, whilst this may struggle with really heavy duty stuff, it will easily drill any type of hole in wood or drive a 'domestic screw'.
Opening post
Drill, 3ah battery, fast charger and one screw driver bit included.
Click and collect or instore only.
Use code ccj2m or print the voucher at http://www.wickes.co.uk/voucher-spend-save
