You can propose this offer on bespoke offers to get the price to around £290 from their merchant.

I came from Note 2 to G4. Compared with the Note its not as good but then I could easily get 2 days out of that, weaker phone with bigger battery.
G4 has mixed reviews in my opinion because from my experience some apps can be pretty draining on it. Medium use I can get maybe 1.5 days on battery whereas start filming or playing a graphic intense game and I'll find I need to charge by end of day (prob about 14-15 hours drained)
Having said that I'm not one who reaches for Facebook or twitter every 2 minutes I'm sure there will be people capable of sapping the battery quicker but beauty is to just buy another battery...no need for bulky battery cover or battery pack with me. In fact I have no case at all as the leather back is pretty nice in the hand in terms of grip and durability.
The good news is though you don't need to disable anything. I'm running my phone as it came out of the box - unlike the Samsung where I had to root it to remove all the bloatware...
For this price its a bargain. I've yet to see a camera on another phone take better pictures (again of course this is my opinion) but I know iPhone 6S users who agree.

Only £262 if you use code "JBUY599". Also 2% Quidco.
TrustPilot reviews for the retailer are mixed, but more positive than negative. 9.1/10 from over a thousand reviews on TrustPilot.
They handle the import process and any VAT/duty to pay. See section 16 of their T's & C's.
A lot of the reviews state that the item arrived with a UK plug too, which is not so suprising since Hong Kong use UK plugs and that's where the items are being posted from.
Most reviews state around 5 days for delivery, give or take.
UK 4G Network frequencies all look compatible here.

Just rooted LG G2 and installed 5.1.1 XenonHD rom. It feels just as fast as G4 my wife got...
Thus I have reached to a conclusion I ain't upgrading to another hardware until my handset is fried/lost/stolen.
Before you say anything I'll leave a comment to self - "Cool story bro" :-)

My LG G4, after 7 months of use (carefully well looked after in case, never dropped, never customized) is now a brick. Stuck in bootloop animation. Seems like a common fault with the motherboard on this device. Shame... no wonder it's cheap and LG want to push the G5 already

Frustratingly, the quality is not up to par. I got a gold one for £15 but I don't think it's genuine, because it's a lot more stiff to put on and off and it's got hairline crack on the back after one week use. And I've kept it in a case too. Pfft...

Anywhere else cheaper i can just buy a replacement back from?

You can probably sell your iPhone for £380 now, and I reckon by next year still be able to sell it for £300. If you get the LG G4 expect to keep the phone as it's quite good but definitely won't retain much resell value (G3 only a year later can be bought for £150)

iPhone 6 has far better build quality, better autofocus photos/video, sound quality, unity across apps is better designed and simpler. Plus it has fingerprint scanner which is so much faster and convenient than any other password/pattern unlock.
LG G4 is faster to use, has better photo/video quality, cheaper to buy. That's pretty much it.

2 Nov 151#298
To clarify: I have Music, Snapchat, Chrome, Facebook, Whatsapp, Messenger, Gmail, and these all use the most battery [in that order after screen]
1 hour journey in the morning listening to music reading news - 98% charge drops ~ 80% charge
periodically responding to emails and messages until lunch ~ 70%
45 minute lunch break maybe watch a few vids or send a few daft snaps or photos ~ 50%
periodically responding to emails and messages until finish ~ 30%. I will start charging the phone again now.
if not, the commute home might get me down to 15% with battery saver.
so yeah, 2 recharges a day. I do not see how anyone can only deplete 3-10% battery unless they don't actually use it as a smart phone... ?

Got my QI circle case as well as a clear silicone tpu soft case.
QI circle case is nice, as is the circle features. Hate that the top and bottom are exposed. Overall I think I'd prefer a good bumper or soft case as I do often drop my phones and I can see flipping the QI front cover can get annoying for me and it's actually less grippy when doing that.
Just like the bumper, the clear soft case doesn't fit the leather back very well either. Need to now spend another 15 quid on the original plain plastic back! Haha I'd been better off just buying the original non leather versions off amazon rather than waste so much time on cases and importing.

2 day observation:
* Battery getting maybe 4 hours of on screen use which then needs recharging. I've just ordered a aukey quick charge 2.0 mA plug to make this less painful. Hoping battery life gets better after a few more recharge cycles.
* I'm using the phone naked, still has the plastic wrapping on it. The black Leather back with seam in the middle reminds me of caressing some cardboard. I'd highly recommend getting a tanned Leather back as it feels softer and more premium. Still waiting for the LG G4 QI circle case.
* Speed of phone is great. Fastest android I've used. Love the ability to add extra Navigation buttons at the bottom.
* Love manual controls of Photos and image quality. I wish this option extended to Videos as well. Tap to focus could be a lot better though - Samsung and Apple nail it so much better. Video here also suffers from extreme jello - needs firmware updates on its OIS probably.

Pretty much the same as above. I think the quality is fine, I am coming from an iPhone 6 plus which has been jerky and horrible since iOS9, this is much smoother. I've stuck a screen protector on it but other than that will use as is with the black leather back. The supplied earphones are okay but they fall out of my ears (I don't get on with in ear ones anyway)
Very happy overall though.

Got mine last night.
From eglobal.
Box had been opened but the phone was untouched.
Is the H815 model.
Is the TWN model so no unlocking the bootloader at present (don't want to anyway).
No plastic rear case with it.
Came with headphones, ear pieces look quirky but fit my ears OK.
Sound quality is fine for me but I'm no music specialist.
General thoughts on the phone, a bit plasticky compared to my replaced S4. Will get a plastic rear case and a decent case cover to give it some protection. Fitted a glass screen protector which I'm happy with, never used glass ones before.

No the loudspeaker at the back is fantastic. Powerful and as loud as my laptop, though lacking bass.
My problem is via headphone jack and audio driver via bluetooth (I believe the guy on the xda developer forum also noticed). It's not bad but I've heard better. Same argument for the display quality. Not a huuuge dealbreaker but this and the plastic bezels is the only gripes I have.

Okay I pulled the trigger! I just received my Black Leather edition. Yup, no ceramic cover included. Box looked opened but phone had the plastic seals on. Seems like they declared on customs it was a $10 lithium battery... haha dodgy.
Audio recording quality and playback via devices is not near as good as other phones - even worse than Samsung S3 and S4 Mini and iPhones which is a shame. I can tell distinguish hum and not as deep bass and frequencies. If you listen to music a lot, I would double check as it may be a deal breaker. Go with the rivals or wait for V10. Great fast phone and good camera otherwise though though.
One thing to note is that the cases I had bough like the clear plastic cover and plastic bumper cases are no good on the leather edition. The screen sticks out abit on the lip so the only protection you'd get is maybe the side. And taking it off is a pain as it snags on the back cover.
May get the LG Circle Case, although that negates having a leather back in the first place, and it doesn't offer protection on the bottom/top.

Can you comment about headphone quality? I've always been consistently impressed by the output from Samsung/Apple/HTC but LG have been very iffy on this. For anyone else to help them avoid the same silly mistake.
Well I seem to remember a code showing initially, but I went looking for more information about where to use the code as it then opens a page saying:
TopCashback
One second, we are just opening Ebay’s site for you.
Just shop as normal and we take care of the rest.
So I understood the message to mean the code was already taken care for us,
I did not find any additional information about where to use the code so when when I went back to the page it did not show any code and opened the page with the message above followed by ebay web page again so all looked good to me.
Sorry but to me that is just plain poor coding, and lack of help information that could have so easily been avoided. Now I am just left with very poor feeling for whole experience, and highly unlikely to use or recommend them further, but i will await their response before making final judgement.
I will try and put some pressure on Topcashback to change message used coming from a voucher action and to provide a little bit of info such as "You must enter the voucher code in the ebay check out to ensure the transaction can be validated for the voucher offer" or similar.
chapelhill
24 Oct 15#260
Did I mess up on my purchase through TopCashback and Ebay 20% offer?
Joined Topcashback
Went to ebay offers page which showed 20% discount
Pressed button to get voucher code
That opened browser on ebay with message something like everything is taken care of just purchase as normal
Made purchase
Now on my account it shows as transaction pending but only for normal 1%
I did search around on topcashback site for more information about using the voucher codes before going ahead with purchase
More than miffed as I would not have gone ahead with purchase without additional cashback.
Even more so, I most humbly apologise to anyone if they also missed out after following the link I posted to the Topcashback offer
If I have missed out was this a special deal between topcashback and ebay or ebay only?
I have put in a support ticket to Topcashback, but I guess they will have to be pretty lean on support staff so not expecting a quick answer.

I've had to return my LG G4 Black leather to Amazon because the battery life was atrocious. Looses nearly 1% for every minute I'm on the internet (browsing) even on wifi & screen at 60% brightness; so if I used it at 100% within 30 minutes or so it would be down to 70%. Also, at the same time, the handset got REALLY warm around the camera area. The odd thing is if I'm using Youtube or listening to music the battery life is great & lasts ages - I watched a YouTube video on it the other night & after an hour the battery only dropped 7%.
I tried a factory reset & different browsers but it made no difference.
Anyone else experience battery drain & heating issues when browsing?
Juzza12 to Cmberry20
21 Oct 15#242
I just put my brightness up to 60% although on Auto, and it started going down quite quickly when I was browsing, probably at about the same rate as yours.
It's probably just me but I find 60% way too high, I only have mine set to 20%! I still find the screen looks great.
I'm having an issue with the home screen going totally black. Sometimes pressing on the screen to open an app, and then backing out of it sorts it. A couple of times I've had to restart it. The lock screen stays fine when this happens.

21 Oct 15#240
Mmm, okay I didn't realise that...I have asked them again to confirm that they are European ones. They reply as if I am interested in LTE bands which makes me wonder if they don't understand the issue.
mankymanning
21 Oct 15#238
I do not think that is correct, the different variants have letters at the end such as H815T. If the code is definitely H815 then it is the European version.Asia middle east etc are *not* H815.
chapelhill to mankymanning
21 Oct 15#239
Hi I think you are technically correct, but I don't think the suffix shows up on packaging box, phone labelling, nor through software, so I think the only way to tell is by trying to unlock? I specifically avoided mentioning the suffixes so as not to confuse.
ake7861
21 Oct 15#237
There is different Variants for the H815 but Only European versions are bootoloader unlockable. As previously said in the last few Comments.. 20 Oct 15#234
Thanks for the reply mate it definitely does seem a language/knowledge issue there. I will also wait and see till if one comes available in a black leathered back soon. If not I will bite my tongue and order one from eglobal. After all I suppose its early stages yet and developers will start developing lots of roms for locked bootloaders as in other phone. Im only a rom guy but like you said extra functionality for the money would be great:)
chapelhill
20 Oct 15#233
I think you can root almost all of the differing versions. Unlocking Bootloader is only to put on a customisable recovery allowing flash of any rom, fully system backup, flash of Superuser root etc.
To be fair to LG they do seem to be one of the better manufacturers supporting security and system updates and relatively standard Android experience and still supporting micro sd (Coverage problems where I live).
Even if there were only locked bootloader versions I would still consider it, but for the moment my preference is for leather backed H815 with unlockable bootloader.
There is other thread Ebuyerpage for ebuyer at just under £300, but not for leather version>

Hmm... Thats very interesting I would also like to know as I also end up rooting my phones In the end. One thing I Do not understand from LG is why not make different models for different regions like before..
ake7861
20 Oct 15#228
Considering that they state it as a H815 Model Which is the Europe version. It should be bootloader unlockable as states on the LG website.. Maybe im wrong just a thought☺
The first page says:
Q> Which device can get a bootloader unlock key?
Unlocking the bootloader was supported in LG G4 (H815) for the Europe open market only.
From September 1, supported devices are added.
Now, the H815 (G4) for all European market are available to unlock the bootloader.
There are other region H815 for Asia, Middle East etc which are not unlock-able at the moment. There is some work going on for a hack to unlock, but there is no confirmation it is working yet, and if it is it is not publicly available. They may be waiting for the marshmallow update to drop first to ensure vulnerability has not been patched.
Not sure if I would use the unlock, but want it to be my choice as I keep my phones for a long time and it can help to extend life when updates are no longer forthcoming and makes the phone much more interesting for developers to make alternative versions of the software.

I think theres a reasonable number of S6 sales going though, although the S6 battery is supposed to be quite poor, which put me off + the bloatware. Good spec phone though!
Z5 is still pretty expensive (same with the M9)
i6.. whats that? A Chinese phone that will never get an update in its life?

Just ordered the G4, paid £303 to get it fulfilled by Amazon (it's available for just under £270 elsewhere as others have mentioned, but I paid a bit more for peace of mind in case of a return and fast delivery).
Upgraded from my G3 and gotta say it's worth it, it's pretty much the same but display and camera are way better (more saturated colors compared to the dull g3 colors)

Yes one touch call block was a neat feature. I miss the air gesture where you move your hand close over the screen to see if you have any messages etc. It's not big loss really. At first I missed the quality of the Samsung icons. The LG ones are a bit flat and look a bit like my wife's Moto G. I downloaded a few launchers when I got the G4 but in the end I deleted them and just used the stock one. Am used to the phone now so it doesn't bother me anymore. I remember whn I got my S2 and looked at the home screen when switching it on and thought I don't like that. It was crap compared to my HTC Desire. I put the S2 back in its box and nearly sent it back. I came to my senses after a week and starting using the S2 but downloaded a Sense clock which I used on the S4 as well. Sad I know but I couldn't get a decent deal on a HTC at the time and when I got the S4 I went for that as it had the best camera. The G4 maybe hasn't got the best camera according to the pros but I bet most people cannot tell the difference between the G4 and S6. With the G4 being £100 cheaper when I bought mine it was and still is a no brainer.
A quick and easy way to add call block as follows.
In call log click on the number as though you are going to ring it back
Click on the 3 little dots at the top right of the screen
Click reject call
Caller is now added to your reject list
Another thing I miss is if I am looking at one of my messages on the LG when you press home and press messages again it takes you back where you where last. On the Samsung it just opens up messages which I prefer as on the lg I have sent a message to the wrong person because of the way it does this.
That's about it really. I like the basic apps set up without too much bloatware from LG but wish I could get rid of all the google ones I don't want. If Google are not careful they will get as bad as Microsoft !!!

I forgot to say about the battery. Much much better than the S4. I am an average user checking stuff reasonably frequently esp. FB. I have Bluetooth/wifi on permanently. Never been below 50% in a day.
Smartguy1, what are the bits you miss? I found some extra tricks on the G4 that I wish the Samsung had of had. The S4 had a one touch call block but the G4 you have to copy the number and go into a sub menu to add. G4 has a text message preview on the main screen where you can do a quick reply which is neat.
I use the remote control function and found it was a little hidden but now customised it to be very easy. G4 is much more directional though.

I just thought I would add my personal mini review of the G4 in case people were in 2 minds about this phone.
I have just upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S4 and previously had an S2 as well. Whilst the dimensions are bigger than the S4 it isn't too big a leap. What is great is the screen resolution and quality is fantastic. The G4 is so much faster in every aspect to the S4. The GPS is so much quicker to lock on which is a bonus when using it as a sat nav. I regularly moved apps to the external memory on the S4 and knew how long it took per app. The G4 does this task in a blink with the same memory card.
It is taking me a little while to adjust to the rear button and controls but not a bad feature, just different.
The camera....oh the camera is simply amazing for a phone. This will actually save me taking a compact around. Sure it's not gonna replace my DSLR's but it's a leap forward.
There is one little annoying thing. I had to fit a wireless battery pick up to the leather back cover, which was kinda simple but took a few attempts to position right. Here's the rub. If you power down the G4 then place it on the wireless pad, it wakes it back up. If you power it down whilst on the charger, it reboots back on. The S4 stayed off. OK more of an inconvenience I suppose but I used to charge overnight. I would have to mute the phone now to do it as messages would wake me up.
Overall, I love the phone. No bloatware either.

That could have been my review. I had the Samsung S2 then S4 and now LG G4. I thought the Samsung Galaxy S4 was an extremely good phone. I miss a couple of things from the Samsung but not much. I gave mine to the wife and she likes it. She says the LG is too big for her and called it a man's phone. I like that. I like the G4 and glad I bought it. Amazing camera although I ditched my Panasonic TZ10 when I got the S4 as camera on that was excellent quality. The G4 is better and faster which was the main reason I bought the phone. It also looks very very nice in it's Nillkin leather quick circle case, purchased from ebay at £7.98. I may try a maroon colour next time.

Also the video is from Croatia so it may be a European phone or it maybe not. There are just eight other people with the same issue but it doesn't say where they are from. This is 8 or 9 issues out of 1,000's of units sold. Personally I don't read reviews from places such as Youtube. For genuine reviews from actual owners then you have to look at REVOO as you need to upload a copy of your receipt to prove ownership in order to post a review. There are loads of people who are raving about this phone who own one like I do. Buy it, you won't be disappointed. As for the ipone 6s, well it's just another iphone. My son just got one and I tried to be enthusiastic but not for me.
See the reviews below from people who have bought the G4.
No doubt there will be some moaning about the battery life which I find amusing. Some people have everything switched on, spend 6 hours gaming or watching videos then complain their battery is a 40% !!!! Good job these people don't have an electric car. If you use your phone the battery drains. The more you use it the quicker it drains. The more apps you have running the quicker it drains. Bigger screens use more power. Use the phone normally the battery is fine. Don't use it and it will drop 3% a day on standby. Turn off 3g or 4g if you are at home on wifi. Turn off gps at home. Turn off bluetooth if you don't need it. Set facebook to manually play videos. If you have a tablet use that instead for gaming and watching videos. You may just be surprised just how long the battery lasts. Turn everything to manually update, eg weather etc.

So tempted by this. Bought a nexus 5 when it first came out , had it two years now and it just upgraded to android 6.0 at the weekend and it still running really well though I think the battery life is starting to dwindle a little.
I was waiting for the reviews on the 5X but this G4 is £80 cheaper than what the 32gb 5X will be and from what I've read the better phone over what the X5 will be. Slightly concerned by what I've read about lag from the outset though. Decisions decisions.

Proves my point you haven't installed a custom ROM to know much. There is no need to hack bootloaders anymore, not sure if you have heard of autorec? Anyway google it rather conveying - "Android doesn't work....I love apple or need a new android phone every 6 months because it gets slow..." mentality.
Since 5.1 there have been amazing perfomance improvements that do last read up on it..
As Mr. trotters said - "He who dares wins", applies to common non-tech person too especially when google is at your disposal!

Thanks for a classic "it's your fault, not the phone's/poor operating system"...
I am using Android since forever myself, and contributed to modaco, xda etc, I know enough to know one week is not enough to evaluate. You seem to go ahead with your assumptions all the millions users that complain about lag on android phones not only don't know how to use (as if they don't want/know how to tinker with custom ROMs makes them less knowledgeable, right? ) but also that they install "junk apps"
I never game, I am sure I have 0 junk apps, yet the phone is slow. The very fact that you have to go through the whole painful experience of rooting/bootloader unlocking/installing a custom recovery/installing custom ROMs to get a decent performance proves my point. But hey, what do I know, I don't know how to use an Android smartphone.
Maybe you should make a guide? Of course you should mention unlocking bootloader usually invalidates warranty (there is a big warning about that on my Moto G each time I start it), custom ROMs have all some limitations (in LGs case it takes out some camera features) and that you can brick your phone at any time. And of course that it takes a few good hours to install a custom ROM, and reinstall everything... geez... some people have a life.
PS: I am sure a phone is not as good as the one using it. I am sure there are plenty of non-tech people you should also allow to use a phone, including your grandma, and all the iphone users, but those phones just work... such a sweeping and offensive statement.

1 week gone still the same speed ( I am sure it will be like that if I don't install junk apps). Considering I am using android since 1.5 (HTC Hero) and installing custom ROMS since then, I can assure you that installing a custom AOSP based ROM can help decent device like LG G2 especially removing the bloat apps these providers come up with.
In the end, a phone is as good as the one using it!

If taking pictures is your thing i dont think you can fault this handset. Its really weird because a lot of people post things saying the Nexus 6P, iPhone 6S and Samsung S6 all have significantly better cameras, but i have yet to see anything that really warrants the price difference between all those top end phones and this LG which i also got for a snip under £300.
One of the things that drew me to this phone aside from the removable battery was the microSD card slot. You also have the ability to shoot in RAW and JPG which if you like to edit pictures, is absolutely great.
Whilst i cant comment much on the gaming side of things, every other aspect of the handset has been amazing for me.
People are saying that they have better cameras because they have been reading the expert reviews who probably go into it in far greater depth. In reality I bet none of us could really tell the difference. I have the G4 and camera is amazing. I thought my Samsung S4 took good pictures, good enough to have as wallpaper on my 17" laptop and 22" works monitor. The G4 is better and faster. Bear in mind also that tech reviews may not be un-biased as we all have a favourite whether that be android or apple, Samsung, LG or HTC.
I bought the G4 because overall it was the best deal. Samsung need to stop trying to beat Apple. People who want an iphone will buy an iphone no matter what Samsung do. I am a massive Samsung fan but the S6 has been aimed at trying to be an iphone beater. It is not. It may be a better phone or it may not. It makes no difference as hard core apple users will only ever buy an iphone where us who prefer the adaptability of different free apps, launchers, custom roms etc will buy android. This is the market that Samsung needs to be top of but they have priced themselves too high in my opinion.
LG know where they need to be pricewise and are taking Samsung on and winning. Every deal recently for the G4 has been hot hot hot. I reluctantly moved from Samsung after 4 years but am glad I did. I got a similar spec phone to the S6 for £100.00 less. I got a bigger screen, a camera that I am delighted with, a removable battery, upgradeable memory, a better battery life, a nice nillkin quick circle leather case, no bloatware and not tied into a rip off contract. Ok if the S6 had been same price as the G4 when I bought in July I would be happy with that I'm sure but £100.00 is £100.00 and am really pleased with the G4.

The video selling it showed it been used in the pool!! MaximusRo to helllraiser

Everybody now hold their breath for 6.0 Marshmallow... don't understand why everybody gets so excited about a new Android version, every single time they only brought more limitations, more bugs and worse battery life. KitKat is still just fine. I wonder what features will 6.0 remove.

Only brown and red leather, I would like a black leather one myself. But nice find, seems like the price will keep going down. I remember the £150 deal for the G2, I got one from Vodafone, there might be some similar ones for the G4 soon (but probably only when all the G3 will sell out and a new model will be launched).

I have to say Amazon Marketplace sucks big time! I had a defective item bought from UK seller who agreed to refund the money upon return the dashcam but never bothered to refund me. Complaints to Amazon.co.uk up to CEO Jeff didn't yield any results. Here is what Amazon CEO office replied:" Message From Executive Customer Relations
"Dear Ilkin,
Thank you for your reply.
we are unable to intervene with regard to a contract between buyer and seller. We do not act as a mediator, and are not responsible for the actions taken. You may have a contract with the seller of this item, and any disagreement regarding this contract must be taken up directly with them.I suggest you contact the seller via your account.

Thanks, very useful comparison. Agree with you on the fingerprint scanner. When Apple bought AuthenTec in 2012, they knew the latter were streets ahead of other peddlers of fingerprint scanners - I don't own an iPhone (Android fanbois) but my other half does, nothing comes close to the accuracy and repeatability of AuthenTec's scanner installed in the iPhone. I believe a Motorola exec once commented that they did not add a fingerprint scanner to the Moto X because they knew that every other solution on the market was second best to AuthenTec's.
That seems to be the leather back one. Which one is preferable, the leather back one or the regular back?
What would be the benefits/drawbacks of the leather back?
I wonder if it adds to the bulk?

I have to disagree, essentially all the specs are the same including the battery!
New features include:
A 0.2" larger screen (battery will drain quicker over very little bragging rights).
32 extra internal storage (Fabulous).
A second front facing camera (Gimmick? yet to be seen).
A fingerprint scanner (still to be impressed).
A second always on screen (screen use usually equates to 70/80% of battery usage).
A new metal case (adding weight and some durability).
Overall a few new gimmicky features that you will have to pay an extra £100-£150 for and get a phone that will probably have a much shorter standby time.
On a second note is a second screen on a phone really useful? Just download Lightflow or get a smart watch?

Leather backs are ok but you also get a normal plastic back with them. Best of both worlds.
They add hardly any extra bulk. I bought an otterbox "commuter" case for mine which says it does not fit the leather backs. Its fits absolutely fine.

Any users care to offer opinions on real world battery life? I'm reading a mixed bag in reviews, but i personally hate the battery life on my S6, having to disable all the key features to eek out an extra hour or two isn't great, particularly when they are features that drew me to the phone in the first place! :disappointed:

b_nar to ben1979
14 Oct 158#11

You are looking at about 4 hours screen on time on average
Having got one on Monday, today my g4 got its first real road test. It went from 100% when i got up at 6am to 15% when i got home at 6pm, this was after about 1 hours use of gps and google maps, about 3-4 hours of music, podcasts, facebook and some youtube on the train, then a full days worth of periodically responding to texts, emails, facebook and skype. 4g on, set to 50% brightness , syncing all my accounts every 15 minutes all day.
Overall after coming from a nexus 4 that can usually last about 4 hours doing the same things, im happy.

I've been watching it gradually drop in price over the last few days. I was close to purchasing (and posting on here :stuck_out_tongue:) but then looked into what the video quality is like which is where I got put off. It uses its OIS to stabilise video but in turn creates a warping effect that makes uneasy viewing. It would be fine if there was an option to switch it off, but there isn't.
There is a fix for it on XDA that involves editing the build.prop file to disable the OIS, but you need to be rooted and frankly you shouldn't need to mess about to do something that should be an option out of the box. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62624145&postcount=86
Just rooted LG G2 and installed 5.1.1 XenonHD rom. It feels just as fast as G4 my wife got...

It took me a while to leave the G2 behind. There is nothing wrong with the phone even at the end of 2015. The only thing I upgraded (to the LG G4) was the camera and ability to save RAW pictures. If you don't need it, keep the G2 for a bit longer as it's still a great phone. Galaxy S6 Edge VS LG G2

Owned it since the day of release and this is my 2p's worth on the battery life:
It was/is fantastic, I use my phone for shopping, facebook, browsing, emails. I would same a moderate user.
I have bluetooth, gps, wifi, data & nfc on at all times.
At home on WiFi I can unplug at 7am and be on 50% left at 10pm easily.
At work (7:30-4:30) on 3G I can get to around 30% left by 10pm.
The biggest problem has been in the last 3 weeks, I had an OTA software update for 'bugs' and this has caused lots of issues with my battery life on 4G.
In work it was the same as above using 4G/3G, but since the update the 4G is killing my battery (needing charge by 2pm) and the GPS seems to be being used for 5+ hours while 4G is connected. Tried to contact LG but they said it's normal for low 4G signal. I explained that it was never an issue before and asked why my GPS was on so much. They didn't have an answer. I switched 4G off and all is fine again so something changed with the software update.
I had a message from Three last night saying there is a bug on the software from LG and will be fixed shortly.
Fingers crossed the patch/Marshmallow (whichever is first) will sort out the 4G battery drain.
I would recommend this phone highly if you want really good photos and are interested in photography. I came from a Galaxy S5 and wouldn't look back

Superb 'all-rounder' phone which has the 2 most important things that the S6 lacks - removeable battery and SD card. That's bad, I moved from an iPhone 6+ back to android, having been offered a great deal on an S6, the iphone lost maybe 2 or 3% in standby over night, on holiday last year in the states, the phone was getting hammered with snapping pics, google maps etc and it lasted the day no issue! I am properly underwhelmed with the S6! Carrying an anker external battery isn't necessarily a chore as such, just not ideal! I regularly travel on day trips to Birmingham from Belfast, and the S6 doesn't last the whole trip! That's with mild/moderate use while I am away!

I'm running a fairly stripped rom, minimal apps and it lost 11% in 7 hours last night. Even with the Samsung 'doze' mode in the latest COI9 rom.

I can't even get that just on standby! Still a great phone I get a day on normal use, heavy use have to top it up thankfully quick charge helps there, hopefully android 6 should help a bit

the 6p has better camera than the g4 and iPhone 6s according to dxomark
Thanks for the informative reply, may just go for this, I had the G2 on release, was very impressed with it, but now, at this price and as you say removable battery, with the added benefit of microsd storage(the pros and cons are a whole other debate, but I approve of it's inclusion) seals the deal after your reply! :-)

Also has optical image stabilisation which the 5x doesn't. I was waiting for the 5x but this is what I'll be buying. Price is literally dropping every day though so I've been holding off to save a little cash. Hot price  close to pulling the trigger now.

Real world I get about 10 to 12 hours before it's starts watching me to charge it.
That said I do spend hours on the phone, Bluetooth and WiFi on, loads of browsing, the odd game or two. The screen is that good I use my computer less and less and this more and more, so I suppose that's not too bad at all

It definitely has better battery life than the s6 but it's not the longest lasting out there. But that's the beauty of a removable battery! You can buy a spare battery with a charger for fairly cheap. The battery life is such that I'd imagine that you'd get a day of normal use, but for those days where you use it more, just swap the battery and you're good to go!

Thus I have reached to a conclusion I ain't upgrading to another hardware until my handset is fried/lost/stolen.

Anyway i thought it would be safer to buy a new back instead of voiding warranty on the original, Newisdom do the receivers for £12 or an entire back cover with the chip in for £40 http://www.amazon.co.uk/NeWisdom-Wireless-Charging-Replacement-Housing/dp/B010UT72DS/ref=wl_mb_wl_huc_clickstream_1_dp
Unfortunately only black or gold available atm, but do you think it would be worth it to save the warranty?
Anywhere else cheaper i can just buy a replacement back from?
I want to do it that was as i dont like the flip covers which seem to be the only wireless charging ones available atm.
LG G4 is faster to use, has better photo/video quality, cheaper to buy. That's pretty much it.
Interested in the wireless charging but would only want a nice rubbery case that is open fronted, Like the tortoise shell ones on our iphones. is there any nice wireless charging cases out because Amazon just seem to have those circle flip ones.
Mine is currently at 43%. Screen on time is 4h 13m and I have 7% battery left still. My display is 20% with auto on.
Very happy overall though.
My problem is via headphone jack and audio driver via bluetooth (I believe the guy on the xda developer forum also noticed). It's not bad but I've heard better. Same argument for the display quality. Not a huuuge dealbreaker but this and the plastic bezels is the only gripes I have.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62257042&postcount=11
I guess it is all a bit subjective - the guy on that post thinks it is good...
We apologize for any inconvenience. "
Can you comment about headphone quality? I've always been consistently impressed by the output from Samsung/Apple/HTC but LG have been very iffy on this. Mobile reviews don't seem to focus on this much except with fancy graphs and a general "it's good" but watching youtube videos a couple of people said there's a hiss in the headphones. Hrm...
Cheers
Does anyone know how the marshmallow rollout is going? Anyone with a taiwan one got updated yet?
Did it pass through DHL customs alright? I keep hearing conflicting reports on here of people getting stung the next day.
Can anyone tell if Bluetooth headphones (or normal ones for that matter) have a hiss or not when connected? This is a major factor that I'm very worried about. Cheers
Does anyone know if it is just the international ones that can get Marshmallow at the moment?
Hope this helps anyone interested.
By the sounds of it we are getting the Hong Kong version - cant say I'm bothered at that price.
Sorry chapelhill but mankymanning is right - you needed to enter the code at the point of paying. Its not cash back it was £50 off the price you pay.
Regarding whether or not the parcel contains a plastic back case for the phone, I will let you know.
They could be Asian models
I hope it is the 20% off ebay one, as I went for it from eGlobal
Many thanks to mankymanning for the heads up
I tried a factory reset & different browsers but it made no difference.
Anyone else experience battery drain & heating issues when browsing?
It's probably just me but I find 60% way too high, I only have mine set to 20%! I still find the screen looks great.
I'm having an issue with the home screen going totally black. Sometimes pressing on the screen to open an app, and then backing out of it sorts it. A couple of times I've had to restart it. The lock screen stays fine when this happens.

Not sure if I would use the unlock, but want it to be my choice as I keep my phones for a long time and it can help to extend life when updates are no longer forthcoming and makes the phone much more interesting for developers to make alternative versions of the software.
is there.
Z5 is still pretty expensive (same with the M9)
i6.. whats that? A Chinese phone that will never get an update in its life?
Upgraded from my G3 and gotta say it's worth it, it's pretty much the same but display and camera are way better (more saturated colors compared to the dull g3 colors)
And also the fact it'll be getting marshmallow upgrade soon...
If them I'd pay the extra and buy from Amazon direct, can't beat their customer services.
could you check if yours has some light bleed on top of the screen?
I wonder if it's worth returning if it's a common problem... thanks
See the reviews below from people who have bought the G4.
http://www.reevoo.com/p/lg-g4
I watched tons of vids before buying it and it seems to keep up with the best. Also seems to handle multi tasking better than the 810 chip phones.
You have to factor in price when comparing phones. At the moment i think price v performance the G4 is rocking it at the moment.
i was under the impression that the 32gb version eas not officially available in the uk.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jttoOoC8k_Q
I was waiting for the reviews on the 5X but this G4 is £80 cheaper than what the 32gb 5X will be and from what I've read the better phone over what the X5 will be. Slightly concerned by what I've read about lag from the outset though. Decisions decisions.
Also, just to let everyone know I'm using the Google Now launcher and it looks identical to a Nexus device, even 'double tap' to wake up works (but not to turn off) when using the launcher.

Sold by 'Salesland' and fulfilled by Amazon. It was delivered the next day & came in an Amazon box from the Amazon main delivery depot in Gourock, Inverclyde.
Going back to your orignal question about the rear buttons: I believe they are all the same colour as the silver colour has a 'goldish' tinge to it so it might appear differently depending on the photo.
Its kinda like this: http://www.periodictable.com/Samples/022.46/s13.JPG
its just awful, i used 10% in an hour of doing near nothing and yet the seller said to chat to the manufacturer...
Since 5.1 there have been amazing perfomance improvements that do last read up on it..
As Mr. trotters said - "He who dares wins", applies to common non-tech person too especially when google is at your disposal!
In the end, a phone is as good as the one using it!
Check these out:
Colby Brown - Photographers take on the LG G4
MKBHD Youtube review on LG G4
This phone will be the first 3rd party manufacturer to get Marshmallow 6.0 btw

To me Amazon Marketplace should be banned as eBay.
You have been warned.
Did yours come from Fireworks Merchants via Bespoke and handled by Amazon? Sorry for the million questions!
What would be the benefits/drawbacks of the leather back?
I wonder if it adds to the bulk?
They add hardly any extra bulk. I bought an otterbox "commuter" case for mine which says it does not fit the leather backs. Its fits absolutely fine.
86% charge left from 8am but only made calls and checked hotukdeals a few times today

Good phone try this excellent rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/h815-7-hd-4-1-t3213742
Overall after coming from a nexus 4 that can usually last about 4 hours doing the same things, im happy.
There is a fix for it on XDA that involves editing the build.prop file to disable the OIS, but you need to be rooted and frankly you shouldn't need to mess about to do something that should be an option out of the box. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62624145&postcount=86

Galaxy S6 Edge VS LG G2
Any Android phone is quite fast out of the box (or right after a ROM instal).
But in time, they get extremely slow. My G2 is slow as hell

One last question can you confirm that when you said same seller you meant "eu digital" ? thanks a lot
I bought my wife the white version from Amazon (sold buy ebuyer) for £309 if you're after a UK spec white version.
And also if this is the international version H815 ? many thanks
Seems to be the same phone ... although leather back but around £20 quid cheaper... anyone use Simply electronics before?
They also list a H815 T and N model for differing prices. whats the difference??
Deets here!
But for the sake of a few quid i would be buying the Amazon deal.
So Salesland Ltd are the seller on amazon listed with stock at this price, but they are a US based seller. I asusme that as its fulfilled by Amazon it would be a UK model that was shipped from the UK and not from the US??
the stock g4 camera app does have manual control but doesnt have any filters effects built in like sammy and iPhone.. quite easy to download a 3rd party app if thats what your after...
I came from a Galaxy S5 and wouldn't look back
Incidentally, you can get the official leather backs for circa £40. They do look classy but not sure about their durability....
if so are European phones fully compatible with UK frequencies? I know Asian/American phones are often not fully compatible here..
there warranty returns is the best!
Went on Sim only last year waiting for note 4 to come out, but didn't bother.
So saved close to £250 in not upgrading.
Zerolemon battery all the way for me - my Note gives me about 4 days use (light user) without a problem.
battery is better than s6 but there are better battery's out there but overall the g4 is prob the best all rounder.
got quick charging, removable battery and you can add wireless so battery power shouldn't be an issue!
"the same scene at 1080p resolutions on both devices ran at 17 fps on the Snapdragon 810, and 10fps on the Snapdragon 808 - a large difference at such low frame-rates."

S6 has a crappy battery.
Best android this gen, seems to be the z5. The only thing it's lacking is a higher rez screen, but matched with the adreno 430, it flies like dragon on steroids. Match it with the IMX300 sensor and waterproofing, its by far the best
I bought the Neewisdom Wireless charging sticker and replaced the NFC chip in the brown leather back so now I have wireless charging too. Very very happy.
Do you think EU Digital are better than Salesland? Any reason? It appears as they are both registered in New York, but have you had better experience with EU Digital or something?
Thanks!

5x and 6p have the same camera sensor
That said I do spend hours on the phone, Bluetooth and WiFi on, loads of browsing, the odd game or two. The screen is that good I use my computer less and less and this more and more, so I suppose that's not too bad at all
Here's the link to take you directly to the G4 sold by EU Digital.
