2 actually, one on the front and one on the side, but still woefully inadequate for a lot of people these days. Cheap though.

I don't see how it's ever an issue? I have an hdmi auto switch box. 5 sockets. cost like £8...
With 2 of them you'd have 10 sockets on this TV
I've always been under the impression this kind of thing loses quality, even with a powered box.
I pass most of my HDMI inputs through my amp and don't notice a difference but I'm not sure how an £8 box would compare with a £600 amp.
Do you actually have one and if so what do you reckon?

It's digital, You've either got a signal or you haven't, Hence no loss of quality.

I have one with a PS3, PS4, X360, X1 and Wii U all connected to it. Picture is fine, never had an issue. comes with a little remote too in case you have a device with an always on hdmi that may or may not cause an issue with the auto switch.

True being digital it should either work or not (don't tell the guys at Monster cables!). I guess getting a box that supports HDMI 2.0 should cover all bases.

Is this any good for gaming?

Looks exactly the same as the 50" Hisense that I just got from Amazon for £320. Same spec and connectivity too. Must be a rebrand.
48" panasonic with 6 years warranty - and 2no HDMI inputs instead of the 1 with LG (important if you have blue ray, consoles etc and dont want to be constantly unplugging !)
Well I'm now £399 poorer courtesy of this site..... followed the link and saw that they have the LG 50LF580V (50" smart TV) for only £50 more and convinced myself that the 42" I have in the front room is too small...... So much for the promise that it would last 5 years when I bought it 2 years ago.

good price for a panny, but seriously.. unplugging? 3-1 boxes are less than a fiver

Are all LG TVs made by LG or are any outsourced to the mighty Vestel?

Copy and Paste Job
Samsung and LG, two major vendors in the global LCD TV market, have mainly adopted in-house produced components for their sets that they are also manufacturing in house. But LG made contacts with Taiwan's ODMs about the outsourcing orders in 2014.
Samsung Electronics has outsourced production to China panel maker BOE's TV manufacturing subsidiary Beijing BOE Multimedia Technology, while LG Electronics has outsourced some of its LCD TV models for the North America market to Compal Electronics.
Sounds like they used to be in-house, but have recently started the outsourcing thing as well, which is a bit disappointing...

lol, dream on, all digital signals transport some electric current with them try to split a signal to 3 different tvs and you will see a massive drop in IQ.

I used beat my price for the smart version of the LG and 5 days later they gave me a refund, no explanation and no opportunity to buy elsewhere now. Not impressed, wont use again.

Wont make difference whether its a good LG tv or not if you are looking at them through turd tinted spectacles - which i suspect you are.

As I'm contemplating purchasing this could you tell me in what respects Samsung beats LG? I currently own a Samsung LED however its only 40" and could do with a slightly larger screen, not fussed about smart features as its hooked up to a box anyway

Does anyone who have this can measure? What's the distance from the tv table to the bottom of the screen?
I ask because I have my surround sound speakers sat on the tv stand (just kinda in front of the set)

3 inches from table to screen....
unhappybunny
3 Oct 15#40
Thanks for that... hmm I think my speakers will obscure the screen a little, they stand just over 3" tall. My current 48" (one of the older sets with a thicker rim) is 4.5" from table to screen....

Better quality picture - smoother, you have so many options in the advanced menu to tune the tv settings to how you like it as well. Seems to be more responsive as well when using the remote.
