Decent for the money, add some memory and an SSD and it would be a reasonably quick machine. Hot from me.

Don't forget to use trimforce enable command in terminal.
I'm not able to decide which one to buy from the below three.
I will use laptop mainly for web browsing & watching movies etc (not interested in playing games)
My budget is £300 to £350 pounds. Can someone please help!!
I think a 2.7Ghz dual core i5 seems fine for the price, especially since it wouldn't be used for gaming...

They are low performance parts designed for battery life rather than performance - they have similar performance to second generation (i.e. Core i5 2xxx) 'M' parts.
There is nothing wrong with them, you just need to know what you are buying and why  If you want a laptop that is as thin and light as possible, with as long a battery life as possible, they are great; otherwise get a 'M' version that's slightly heavier and thicker, and you'll find it has much more performance.

i had the same issue, what to buy for internet browsing only and ended up with a Toshiba chromebook CB30-B-104.
it has 4gb ram and a full HD 1080 screen, with up to 10 hrs battery life and silent with no internal fans. It is amazingly fast on start up and works well as it has no other programs to load up that you never use. Think about a chromebook?

Ordered this yesterday for £294 labelled as damaged box but perfect condition. With that saving I'll buy another 4gb ram, so I'm pleased with the deal I got.
No point looking at M processors unless you are willing to spend at least another £100.

4GB RAM is ample for the basic needs described, honestly. An SSD would be a far far better buy than additional memory.

All i5 are dual core when using on-board graphics, can only get quad with dedicated graphics which pushes price up considerably!
try looking on the dell outlet site. I just got similar speck for just over £300

Go to dell UK site and look for this one,NEW! Inspiron 15 5000-Series 5559, £449.
Windows 10, 6th Generation Intel Core i5-6200U Processor (3M Cache, up to 2.80 GHz)
8gb mem, 1TB hard drive.
Far superior to anything mentioned here,
A direct link to Dell doesn`t work.
