Belief???? It's not a strict code people should follow being vegetarian, people just don't like the idea of animals being killed for food. Doesn't mean they don't like the taste of meat. I don't see if your not vegi (like I'm not) how it even affects you? Makes no sense for people to moan about it wtf different does it make.

Not at all hypocritical. I'm not vegetarian because I dislike the taste of meat; it's because of the cruelty involved (don't fool yourself by thinking some meat is 'humane'-there is no such thing!). I'm sure this applies to a lot of vegetarians too, otherwise they'd simply be people who don't like eating meat. I don't care if my food looks or tastes like a sausage as long as there are no body parts in it!

You're confusing shapes with meat alone when any food can be any shape. Sausages and burgers are very simple shapes at the end of the day. There are several possible reasons why veggie stuff does this such as simply making the transition from a meat diet to a veggie one as seamless as possible.

When was the last time you saw a sausage or burger shaped animal?
Maybe the food is shaped that way as it's easier to eat and combine with other foods? I don't eat it because it's "shaped like meat", thanks for making me chuckle though! Bless you.

I work at Tesco - national deal! ;question though- why do people who claim to be vegetarian want to eat food that looks like meat???? surely against their belief of not eating animals?? just seems hypocritical to me!

FFS meat eater alert ! Why are meat eaters obsessed with veggies? Why don't you just eat the animal instead of turning it into sausages, burgers, pies ect? Thanks for your help now go pick your animal and put it into what you like?

Ethical vegetarianism is more about preventing killing and suffering rather than avoiding products that look and taste similar to meat. Also, many of the 'meat like' products are aimed at meat eaters wishing to explore vegetarian alternatives.

But by buying items that are burger or sausage shaped, surely you are promoting the sale of such items, most of which are made from the souls of your farmyard cousins.

I actually miss the taste but can't deal with the cruelty or fact that I'm stomaching something which once had emotions and feelings and relationships.

Yep...that's capitalism for you...cruelty to animals and cruelty to humans... costs before concern
