Been here twice with family, really enjoyed it and personally not a huge Harry Potter fan, The Hotel is 5 mins walk from Watford centre and 15 mins walk from the train station where you can pick up the Harry Potter Bus (Free) to the studios - Which is Watford Junction, they'll also bring you back afterwards.
Premier inn have hotels from £29 which is a bargain for a family (Various dates) i picked early next year -
Example
Prices are room only, for all rooms and guests
14th Feb 2016 £29.00 Premier Saver Pre-pay, no amends or refunds
Tickets via HP site £107 for family for 2 adults and 2 children (can be cheaper if less) total £136 = £34pp
Watford Town Centre itself has plenty of places to eat & drink, big shopping centre and pubs and bars the further end of town (5-10 mins)
It's worth it, you don't have to rush around either and the butter beer is pretty good!

My son and his gf went last year and loved it. They want to go back as new things have been added.

What exactly is this place? Just a tour? Or are there activities you do around the tour?
Also, can it fill a whole day?
Thanks.

Its a walk round tour. Not exactly activities. but a few "interactive" things.Everythings very expensive-including the tour. Even at a very slow pace, youll be round it in 4 hours. Its worth going as a one off treat, but wouldnt go again.
Agree, more like a museum or exhibition than anything else really.
If you are into Potter then it's very good and interesting, the quality of the sets and stuff is really good - the level of detail they put into the movies is incredible

Is this actually a deal or just the normal price?

it's a deal, considering you get to stay at the hotel for £29, you visit the next day or the day before, instead of travelling all day, it is really helpful.
