Just having a quick look at the watches and came across this, looks like a good deal. Amazon don't stock this model any more so don't know if they are getting rid of old stock but all the new ProTreks are £100+

Pro Trek model PRG-270-1AER - a vast feature set for lovers of the outdoors. The PRG-270 is solar powered, 100m water resistant and built to operate at much lower temperatues than normal watches can achieve. The triple sensor measures alititude, atmospheric pressure and temperature - vital information for the serious hiker or climber.

I like the concept, but surly your body will effect the sensors on this

Think temperature measurement on these watches is only accurate when removed from the wrist but can't quite see the need for this function anyway.
Good deal though, the solar powered function should ensure the watch stays waterproof for longer.

I've got a similar casio and you are supposed to take it off your wrist for 30 mins to take a temperature reading, according to the manual. Conversely you're supposed to keep it on your wrist for pressure measurements.

I have a top of the range PRW2500 and it's a waste of money. Yes, you have to remove the watch from your wrist to get an accurate temperature reading, and the altimeter and compass are inaccurate. I have been at altitudes of around 1200ft above sea level near where i live and the altimeter is reading approx 400-500ft less!
Don't bother with these ProTrek watches!

The emperors new clothes , story comes to mind after the advent of smartwatches. I think these watches have about £2 pounds worth of technology in them.

I still have 20 years old casio triple sensor (preasure, altitude and depth) and always was well accurate. one issue I've got now is to find genuine strap. anyone can help? BM-100WJ 1BV

Not sure this is a great deal, I bought it for the same price in November/December last year. Should be less by now! ...and yes, the temperature reading needs to be off your arm to work, which is kind of pointless.

I have had the double & triple sensor. The latter adds temperature to the barometer that provides altitude & depth.
The strap on the double broke just after I bought the triple, who's strap also burst about 15 months later. Based on this I only get cheap Casio watches now (basically when I forget a watch on a trip etc or to run until the battery dies). To seal the watch after swapping the battery is also costly if you intend to use it in water. Replacement straps are overpriced & hard to find.
The altitude is calculated from barometric pressure. So unless you know how to use it, its likely to give you the wrong altitude. However, even without that being set (which should be each day), it will show you what you climbed on the same day, as its unlikely there will be a massive change in pressure in that time. To be 4-500ft off in altitude takes a 0.13-0.17mbar change in pressure.
Most smart phones can tell you your altitude too, so this is a fairly useless thing to have on a watch if you also have a smart phone. They also don't tell you your altitude in flights, as cabins are pressurised, & tend to show about 13000ft (which is unusual as aviation law requires pressurised cabins for over 10 000ft).
Unless you are into gadgets, gimmicks, collect watches, or find some weird specialist use - it just doesn't really make sense.

Ridiculous looking watches.

If I was trekking and needed to know the information this watch claims to give than I would probably invest in separate dedicated Readers than to take a chance with this, a cheap plastic thermometer on the outside of your backpack works fine.
