If you want to save even more bring a mallet like I do and smash the sweets on the checkout counter. Don't go to the Birmingham wilko though the staff are extremely rude and impolite, apparently trying to be savvy with my money means I have to leave the store. For some reason using a mallet is unacceptable behaviour, I just think the fat lady at the checkout was jealous i got 4000 marshmallows in one cup.

If you layer the sweets with some strategic planning and a little brute force you can get a lot into the cups.

The xl cups are smaller than they used to be in my local. They are no longer labelled as Candy King, but instead as "Wilko pick & Mix", as in the OP's picture. Although unlike the picture, you wouldn't be allowed to buy a cup if it was overflowing like that.

Here's a hint - the bags work out cheaper than filling up a cup. Fill up a cup then empty it into a bag and weight it and enjoy the savings.

Or weigh the full cup and subtract weight of empty cup then only empty cup if it works out cheaper otherwise if it didn't you'd have to pack it all back into the cup.

It did not say that the sweets were half price, so we got 1 large cup just in case.
When it went through the til it came up at half price.
We crammed it full of sweets and it weighs in at whopping 1640g.

Ever been in Wilkos & a tannoy announces, "Code 17, Aisle 4"?
That must be for the the supervisor to catch the mallet sweet smashing cup fisters contaminating the pick'n'mix. Or just to let security know the local scrote is robbing a years supply of air freshener.
Either way the tannoy always makes me chuckle. Off there tomorrow for a sweet challenge. Big cup vs 2 smaller cups, hmmmm :man:

Last time I got low 900s, but can't remember what I put in there. Definitely had some strawberrys, choc eggs, choc raisins and couple of different bits. Shock it about abit and fisted it and used a couple of lids so it's got abit more strength to hold it together:)

After you overfill them, squeeze them in with another cup and then right after placing the lid on turn it upside down and shake down (once) to shift them all to the lid (make sure this is held in your palm), as they expand up in the upside down cup where a gap is, there will be little pressure on the lid risking it popping off. Turn it the right way up in the queue and marvel at your weighty beast full of contents staying within their boundaries.
