I thought The Purge: Anarchy was surprisingly good fun (much preferred it to the first one) and most people I know seem to love it.

Haven’t seen Mama, but I really enjoyed both the Purge movies. Less said about the other two, the better…
Fifteen quid for 5 movies isn’t bad though, specially when at least two of them are good

I thought Mama and AASB were okay, hated the rest though.

Same here. The first one was utter drivel, so only watched the second based on what people were saying on imdb, and really enjoyed it...

You don't watch horror films to be scared though.

You do though don't you? The tension and chill of a horror movie is what works for me, too many have cgi nowadays.

CGI splats look like crap yes. SAW though is a perfect example of how brilliant prosthetics and clever use of CGI can go hand in hand. For me it's about the effects of a horror and the imaginative way they die. Look up Wishmaster for what for me is pure class.

I agree but I see saw (giggle) as more of a thriller than a horror movie, I loved the first saw, was an amazing movie when it first came out it blew me away. Never watched wishmaster I know about it and my parents even owned it when I was young but if it's like hellraiser I doubt I'd enjoy.

It's nothing like Hellraiser. I do love the Hellraiser films though - those are classic horror!
