This price is based on 2 people travelling from London Gatwick on 6th February returning 10th February and staying in the well reviewed The Hotel 91 based on Manhattan island!
You will be flying into New York JFK airport which has excellent links to the city so you don't have to worry about getting lost on the way to the hotel!
New York is a city on everyone's bucket list and is definitely worth visiting. With so many things to see and do don't forget you can amend your trip to go for longer, Norwegian offer so many dates throughout early 2016 so dates can be pretty flexible!
New York is rather chilly in February so don't forget to take lots of warm clothes as you'll be site seeing and the days will be long.
The hotel is situated on Manhattan Island so you are within distance of many of the main attractions. There are many other cheaper hotels to stay in if you would like to keep the cost down, there are tons of hostels to choose from or hotels with shared bathrooms if you don't mind staying with limited facilities. Another way to keep the cost down is not to stay on Manhattan island itself however it's always nice to be close to everything! The hotel has good reviews on tripadvisor with an average score of 4/5.
If you want to fly from another UK airport it will cost quite a bit extra as Norwegian only fly direct to New York from Gatwick!
Norwegian offer 10kg hand luggage and a handbag which personally for me is a decent amount however many people who go to New York go to shop if this is the case it will be worth adding a bag which will bump the cost up of around £50 return so I suggest always try to take hand luggage only!

This is pretty misleading... If you include checked luggage, seat reservations and a meal then the price rockets up - flights alone for this cheap period aren't much less than £400 per person, which is about £50 more than you can find on Sky Scanner. Cold.

How is the deal misleading? They state it's extra for luggage and having a meal and reserving a seat is a personal choice and one that I never take up. So why should the deal include all your criteria and not someone's the same as mine?
Nit-picking.
Good deal, if someone wants extras then that's down to them and their wallet.

This is a fairly standard price, I'd say. 298 for a Norweigan flight from LON to NYC is actually more than the usual 'deal' prices (more like 250), so I'd imagine there's better deals to be had..

The flights only £271 not £298 and the only other flight cheaper on there at the moment is £269 return, this flights direct, I can assure you there's no cheaper direct flights out of London at this moment in time!

We've been to NYC 8 times in the past 10 years, 6 of those have been in February half-term and it's been brilliant every time. 30 days in total and 27 of those have been beautifully clear, crisp skies. It's lovely and quiet with virtually no queues at the major tourist sites (i.e. Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building) and overall much less 'touristy'.
I wouldn't go at any other time of year.

Don't just choose Norwegian...
There are many excellent deals available with the main carriers at this time of year, which offer you the meals/drink, in-flight entertainment and luggage. When you add these on to a Norwegian ticket, they are not such a bargain.
Delta are offering tickets for £323 from November right through to March for this price if you book with Netflights, and you have multiple flights per day available to choose from. Norwegian flight doesn't leave London till evening and will not arrive into NYC till late. With Delta there are 4-5 flights available in each direction, with the first flight leaving London at 10.35am and getting into NYC at their lunch time.
While many people rave about the Boeing 787 (Dreamliner), which Norwegian fly, the 767's Delta operate on the route are all recently refurbished and feel like brand new. They have new seats, with large on-demand seat back TV's, pretty decent leg room and I have also found them to be quite liberal with the drinks service. With plenty of wine and spirits flowing!

I agree with you that the main carriers can be nearly as cheap. BA tend to have a sale around November time. I wouldn't fly Delta 767s... They can improve the cabin but they are old aircraft and notoriously have technical issues.

Have you ever travelled before? Food, checked luggage and reserved seats are bundled together into one ticket with Norwegian. I'd consider the latter two to be pretty essential if I'm going on holiday, so then I also get food for no extra cost.

I went in early March which obviously will have been a bit warmer but in general the cold didn't spoil our holiday at all.
Hot tip: To warm up on a chilly morning, take a visit to Central Park Zoo. They have a tropical section which as you'd expect has a much higher ambient temperature.
To be honest I think the hotel sounds a better bargain than the flights, assuming it is decent (I would typically budget around £100/night for Manhattan but I guess at this time of year there are deals to be had).
If I didn't have a young child I'd probably take up this offer (or variant of).

Helps beat the long immigration queues as well... last 2 times Ive flown under ETSA we got fast tracked (we can use electronic machines) past a plane that landed from Mexico & another from China.

4 nights isn't enough, I felt stressed when I went as I felt I wasn't getting enough stuff done and there's a ridiculous amount to see and do. You want to at very least book a tour to see all the tourist stuff in one day if you feel you can't go back without having seen the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building although I can tell you that if you want to go up the Empire State Building just for the view then don't bother. Then for the other days plan what you're going to see and do way in advance. If you want to go and see the Ghostbusters HQ bear in mind that it's really out of the way and it's still a working firehouse so be considerate and mindful.
Top of the Rock has a better view and way less waiting time than the Empire State Building; we got stuck in the ESB for 3 hours even with a prepurchased ticket that let us skip half the queue. Don't know if they still do this but they also make you have your photo taken in front of a greenscreen as part of the queue then heavily try to sell you the photos which consist of you looking cheesed off after being in a queue for an hour in front of a poorly photoshopped background of the ESB in the distance.
I have many other New York stories/tips but probably not the place to put them as I don't want to put anyone off going :innocent:
