Wonder why we call them prunes instead of dried plums. We dont have a different word for the dried form of any other fruit. Not that I can recall anyway.

Dried grapes are either called raisins, sultanas or currants, depending on the variety

Lol, when my kids were littlies, I used to call them Giant Raisins, and had my own names for lots of food- once they started school and learned they were Prunes, they wouldn't eat them. I love prunes anyway, so added heat
