This makes me so angry, why should you have to pay to protect what is yours? The laws of trespass should allow you to defend your property. If someone invades my home I should have the right to deal with them as I see fit, with no fear of recrimination.
Looks like a nice deal to me. more than 100 quid every where else

Are these any good and are they simple to set up? Been meaning to get an alarm installed for a while now but didn't want to have wires all over the shop.

They are fairly straight forward but the instruction book isn't brilliant. It includes lots of instructions for items that are not in this kit and you end up going back and fore the pages when setting up.
The alarm siren box contains 4 large D batteries. Mine lasted 2 years - site the box where you will be able to access it to change the batteries. The sensors have AAA batteries that last around 1.5 years. Easy to change. The door contacts have a CR2032 round disc battery that last about 1.5 years.
The kit doesn't come with alarm key fobs but these can be purchased separately and added on.
Use the test facility when setting up sensors and contacts to ensure they are in range of the siren before attaching them in place.
It's a good price (not as good as the Tesco misprice some years ago when we all got them for about £29
I would recommend writing down the following shortcuts and have then at hand when setting up:
Disable tamper - button A, 4 digit code, button A, button 2
Enable tamper - button A, 4 digit code, button A, button 3
Disarm - Open padlock button
Arm - Closed and open padlock button
Problem with wireless is that they do get interference I brought a response on which was on here recently and their is nothing more annoying that the alarm going off at 2am for no apparent reason. I tried a couple of the devices and same issue on both. Not sure if it was baby monitor, wireless phone etc but it's not ideal.

We've had a Yale wireless system for 5 years and not had any trouble with interference.

Also good for just using sensors/keypad etc to add to your existing Yale alarm (can even have the siren box as a 2nd one on your system or sell it on Ebay).
Wish I'd had done this instead of buying extra PIR'S, door sensors and keypad. :disappointed:

Maplin item does not come with 2 door/window contacts. I could be wrong, not very clear.
