That logic doesn't necessarily hold true, the Smart ultra 6 is made by ZTE, I'm not sure that this one is therefore the simlock could be totally different and harder to get around.

Get another £20 off if you live in Birmingham or London and use the prime now app.
Code is Birmingham for delivery in Birmingham
londonnow for delivery in London.
Did the same got the moto 360 earlier but they have limited stock in prime now warehouse so first come first served.

anyone rooted this? i've read 2 methods: KingoRoot, and some dongle. too many stories of the first bricking the phone (not sure if this is reason or not, not clear), the 2nd means buying an expensive bit of hardware.
anyone tried to root?
typical! anyway just got my unlock code from ebay # 261560491238
and it worked.
so for less than £80 all in (with unlock, case and glass protector), pretty impressed with this phone.. might keep it for someone else, how often have i actually bought parts for phones..?
anyone comment on the Camera? (vs the MotoG, which everyone said was crap but really wasn't that bad).

That's the one I was going to use but he was away for a few days when I wanted to unlock mine, I messaged him the week before and he said it was for the Smart Prime 6 phone so should be OK. I've used him before for many Vodafone locked phones and would expect the transaction to be unproblematic.

See post 46 for ebay listing which worked for me. Buy it, wait for code to arrive in ebay messages, insert sim other than Vodafone and Vodafone variants, enter code you received from ebay, phone is unlocked. Was cheap and easy for me.
It covers two types of phone and two type of tablet. VF-895N is the model number that appears in Play Store so I think it's the correct device.

I used that seller in July and he couldn't unlock, had to fight for refund.
I've tried 5 different eBay sellers, 8 different online code suppliers and still no unlock!
The 2 big unlocking software outfits (furiousgold and sigmakey) can both unlock, but only by direct cable connection, no remote code servers have so far been able to supply.
I'll message him and see what he says, not that I don't believe you, but I had so many begging messages of him to change my neg feedback!

It's basically the same. The build quality is slightly better on the Moto, whereas the chipset is slightly better on the Smart Prime 6.
Get the Moto if you can find it for £70. The overall experience is just a little bit better. Otherwise get the Prime.
chancooluk
20 Sep 15#50
The lower score is likely down to chipset throttling to reduce heat. Yours was probably running cooler, so it produced a better result.
All phones with the Snapdragon 615 or 810 will have occasional performance issues due to throttling to reduce excessive heat. The worst offender with the 615 is the Sony M4 Aqua, and Sony Z3+ with the 810.

The 'low internal storage' problem exists with all Android phones depending on how you use and maintain them. Even with 16gb you can face the same problems. It's nothing new but a sad state of affairs when you get to the point where it affects you personally.

Just received and entered unlock code without problem. I used ebay item 291539382130 which cost £3.75
I would have used the cheaper one (£3.25 IIRC) but the seller was away when I wanted to purchase the code.

I got this phone unlocked in Burton upon Trent for £10 at Christmas time. It WAS a great phone, but my son kept up with the updates etc & used it for apps, messaging etc like an 11 year old does IT IS NOW USELESS. The storage is UP TO 4gb, therefore I believe you generally only see about 3.1gb in reality, so even after being wiped/factory reset this month, the phone is no longer fit for purpose. (Insufficient storage). My son cannot even get his ONE favourite game to work on it. (Not enough internal memory to download then transfer to large SD card even!!) Local Vodafone shop were brill trying to help, but this is just not a great phone unless used minimally.
We are now after the Vodafone Smart ultra 6. Which is 16gb, apparently Vodafones version of the iPhone 6??? Reviews are good.

Got moto 3rd gen other day £140 I should of waited this bargain if unlock it.
It's a different phone for a different customer. Antutu scores from the Ultra 6 I have and Smart Prime 6 I have are 22721 and 21968 respectively which surprised me a lot. I was expecting a much better score from the Ultra 6: this having double the RAM and an octacore processor. As a comparison my Xperia Z1 with, albeit quicker quad core processor, 2GB RAM scored 41292 on Antutu. Compared with this I think the Ultra 6 is somewhat disappointing. My old Note 2 scored over 26000. Antutu scores aren't everything though.
In terms of Antutu territory the Smart Prime 6 is on par with Sony Xperia Z which is pretty good for £70. Good cameras, almost clean Lollipop, adequate storage with the possibility of moving some apps to SD card, good screen, looks and feels nice, good feature set, nice size. This is a lovely phone for general purpose use and will suit most people. If this was made and marketed by the likes of Samsung, HTC or Sony it would be a very good seller at £120+ I think.
Don't buy it for a couple of days though because I'm waiting for a Bespoke Offers quote as I want to buy another one if they can shave a few more quid off it

The ultra 6 is still £125, is this model a big step down?
Not as much as the £55 difference in price in my opinion. It isn't as advanced, but it's fantastic value at £70, it's certainly good enough for most people, especially if a 5.5" phone is too big.

This is made by TCL/Alcatel and is a good phone for the price. Specs are similar to HTC Desire 620, only real difference being the front camera resolution and HTC is running KitKat. If you can find HTC Desire 620 for £70 then please let me know where because I'd buy 20 at that price.

Nice cheap alternative to a Apple iPod touch, The 16GB 6th gen version is £159. You could buy this phone + 128GB MicroSD + Xiaomi Pistons 3 earphones + a decent music app (Power Amp or GoneMad Music player) + phone unlock code for around £130.

It is a fairly decent, budget, stock Android device very similar to the Moto G 3rd Gen in terms of specs, but at a much lower cost.
Personally I think a 1GB RAM, 8GB storage device is a little too low spec, however, so I would very much recommend saving up for the Smart Ultra 6 if you can (as it has twice the RAM, Storage and a much better SoC). In fact, the SU6 is the best value smartphone that you can buy in the UK IMHO.
