"Was 449.99" ...yeah, right - for 7kg washer with only 2 years warranty ?
£300 is just about standard price, hard to see any special offer or bargain...

You cant fault Bosch build quality and would recommend a reconditioned Bosch over a new Beko or similar product any day. However they do know how to charge for parts, we have a Bosch generator iron and the heating element has gone but they charge a hefty £140 on their website for a new one!! The iron in the first place was only £120 new so not sure where they get their pricing strategy from?! Then again, charge people a fortune for the parts when it goes wrong and hopefully they'll not get it fixed so will buy new.... this increasing our sales figures!! The website below is not for everyone but hopefully it might help some people out, they have the contract for disposing of old/slightly marked or reconditioned appliances from John Lewis, Currys Argos etc.... here

We have had almost every make of washing machine over the last 40 years ( yep I am on oldie) every one was purchased with the optional extended guarantee and boy did we need it!!! Hot point the repair man after so many visits was on first name terms ! Indesit/ beko and others constantly broke down, I recall my domestic and general insurance premium going up to £86per year due to the number of claims! Decided to buy Bosch on a friends recommendation and honestly haven't looked back, 9 years old and not one problem, used constantly / Dailey . The wife even putting heavy bath mats in, shower curtains trainers etc etc, honest from my experience I would not bother with any other make, so impressed so much so that I've bought Bosch fridge , built in oven , ceramic hob when/ if the freezer packs up I'll replace with Bosch. Highly recommend. Sad to here others have not been as fortunate

I dont think this is even a warm deal. I got the next model up and it was £315 so I dont think this is hot. Also looks like one of those made for Curry's models if you google the model number. Not sure what the hype is about a 2 years guarantee is? Most Bosch have 2 years warranty.

This kind of great deal but i missed it. But while searching this kind of deals' discount code i found website named VoucherShops. It is quite a good site to get the discount code for various product categories. I have purchased headphones, games and glasses with the discount code this site has and saved some bucks.

Washer/dryers are notoriously unreliable what ever the brand though. Much more complicated than normal washing machines.

Bosch werent even interested with all the problems i had with the machine and even though the bulk of the repairs were covered under warranty they refused in the 3rd year to even consider any form of compensation or a replacement and this was speaking to customer relations. They were just like 2 years are up! Ive know gone with a miele washing machine with 5 years parts and labour that i managed to get for a little over £500 after their cashback offer. So far so good better build quality and so much quieter and no annoying beeping at end of cycle!! Glad to have the peace of mind of having the parts and labour warranty for a washer that are designed to last 15 years.... Although the proof is in the pudding!

Dont rate bosch. We paid £600 for a bosch washer dryer. Had 2 new boot gaskets, new motor, new bearings, new element and then the pcb board went in the 3rd year deeming it an uneconomical repair = scrapped! I believe only the higher end models are made in germany with these models made in poland. Having 2 young ones this was inconvenient especially when youd wait days for an engineer to come then to be told you need to wait a week for the parts and then you dont have a washer for a whole 2 weeks.

When I was on the website for a little while it came up with a window saying register for the newsletter and get £20 voucher, I put my email address in and clicked the button on that popup and got given the code on screen.

You won't have that issue with the Panasonic as its really refined in operation. It has a load weight sensor and balance sensor. The only issue is if you create a unbalanced load the washing machine won't spin as fast. I tend to only do near enough full loads but I guess if you just put in one heavy towel it would limit the spin speed. The panasonic is not a direct drive induction motor just a conventional design with a drive belt that helps isolate vibration same as Miele. I think in all fairness LG are probably the best washing machines with regard technology.

Here's an LG being tested for vibration.

Another thing to think about is floors.
We had a fantastic LG washing machine, but it actually came out into the middle of the kitchen; it was direct drive and should never have been put on a suspended floor - had to be solid/concrete etc.
Was sad to send it back as it was really impressive in other ways.
Peeps need to ask about that sort of thing as all the rubber pads/mats in the world won't make it stop dancing.

We used to have a Bosch in our rented flat, it was very average at best. Got a Miele in our new place, difference is night and day.

Another option here. £280 but about £10 back going through topcashback. Free 5 year warranty (parts and labour). Effectively making it £54 for each guaranteed year compared to £135 for each guaranteed year for this model. Not quite as fast 1200rpm instead of 1400rpm. You will need an old washing machine to dispose of to get this price otherwise its an extra £30.

As for Panasonic vs Bosch, Bosch would be rated higher for reliability but at the end of the day the Bosch could still fail shortly after the 2 year guarantee and be too expensive to fix but the Panasonic has 3 extra guaranteed years of operation after that. Both are very energy efficient. A+++

I have a similar Panasonic myself, build quality is brilliant, low noise, nice large portal, feature packed. So far only had it for about 10 months though.

Actually a quick look shows the Bosch appears to have lower sound levels but also slower washing times with both 40 and 60 degrees being over 3 hours long.

'Oldie' like yourself
We've had a few machine machines too.
Got a top of the range 'Which' recommended Hotpoint - wish we'd read the reviews :disappointed:

Repair man never away, so many parts replaced repair man says it's 'as new'.
Wife hates it (not too keen on me for buying it either - only bought it because previous British designed Hotpoints were always good - these Italian jobs are best avoided).

Bosch are still good, but there's no doubt they've recently joined the pack following the 'uneconomical to repair' strategy - and for me that's a clear drop in standards (but would still buy their stuff ahead of many other brands - just wish I could afford Meile  ).

Thanks tryn2help! I have used AO before and love their service, this is an awesome buy I think plus you can register your email to get an extra £20 off! on top of cashback hopefully, fingers crossed.

Looks like TCB worked, its gone into my TCB account already, so a great machine, great features (self cleaning powder tray, 10kg load, load monitor (adjusts water & power used based on weight of the load), £35 /year running, A+++, looks good, Good reviews). Starting price £299 - £25.25 TCB - £20 email registration discount voucher + Free delivery ends up £253.75 Bargain!
NOTE: I can install myself so no install price for me but add £20 if you want it installed

Only washing machine company i would consider, I have had my Bosch 14 years and only had to replace the brushes. I only came across this thread/Deal as last night she started to boil the washes as if the machine doesn't know when to stop heating the water. I hope I can save her and have started a thread in the ASK question area. http://www.hotukdeals.com/ask/washing-machine-running-hot-washes-2280147
Since there are a lot of people on here I was hoping that maybe someone has experienced the same and can assist me.

Hi, sorry I can't make any recommendations - but I must have been fortunate (reading the comments) as I've had a bosch washer now 13+years amd have had only 1 repair in the last 5 years. Guess I'm sayimg I would buy it based on brand however I'd some research etc

This one gets a 'best buy' award from 'Which' and reviews on almost every website are positive.
AO are giving a £20 off voucher with everything over £299, and Topcashback are giving £26.25 for zanussi washing machines bought from AO; means machine can be bought for around £305.

Think it was the 'Which' magazine that recently exposed manufacturers for deliberately building in faults in newer machines.

Don't know about this particular model, but Bosch were also shown to be using the same 'dodgy' build formula.

# Just read Which; they haven't tested this particular model, but they do recommend Bosch as a 'fairly safe bet'.

Most modern machines have the 'sealed' drum, making it impossible to repair, thus forcing replacement parts priced in such a way that it's uneconomical to repair.
Haven't read it all, but I think Meile are the only manufacturers still making non-sealed drum units.

Wife bought a Hoover H160 2 years before we met we had first child in 2006 2nd in 2008 & got married in 2009.

In that time I've had to fix it 3 times

First was oldest decided to swing on the door snapping the hinge £18 and 5 min fix

Second was 5 years ago carbon brushes wore out replacement was £19 & 15 min fix (dead easy lower machine onto side, pop plastic panel off undo 2 screws per brush pull off & replace)

Third was carbon brushes again last week another £20

1600 spin means clothes come out almost dry sometimes.

I do wonder when it does come time to replace whether "modern" machines actually have parts that are replaceable or not. I've read about machines with sealed carbon brushes so it's motor out for a refurb or replace whole thing. Crazy. Anyway sorry for OT rambling. In the time we've had this machine my parents (both parents, nan, 4 foster kids) have been through 3 washing machines & 2 dishwashers - Scary!

I'm assuming these Bosch machines with the similar electronic panel are the same - if the constant beeping drives you loopy (it's the first thing I Googled when I bought it!) there's solutions on Youtube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Doqz_jn43w

The instructions with mine were pretty bad, it was just one sheet of paper and not very detailed.

Comment.

Does make you think. We have the same sort of Bosch washing machine as this but bought it during their additional 2 year warranty (4years in total) promotion. Well one month before the warranty ends we are having leaks, so I am having the door seal gasket replaced and the bottom front filter plug changed (thought it might be the detergent pump behind it that's the problem).

Bosch sell the replacement door deal for £120 on their website!
