Anyone familiar with a woodgasifying stove will understand the fantastic fuel saving potential of this unit..
Woodgasifying is a secondary burn of fuel by form of ventilation over the coals & often a dual chamber to force that air through, this makes cooking faster with a lot less fuel.
I have a proper WGS which runs on fir cones, sawdust, twigs etc, so I never actually take more than a handful of starter fuel with me to ensure its dry..
The controllable fan aspect of this unit makes for faster light up to cooking ready time & getting more heat ((energy)) out of your coals so you are not spending more time than necessary over the stove, ...theoretically.
Fuel is in the inner chamber, air forced from bottom vents up & over the coals..
Dual wall will make for cooler handling of your stove bbq should you need to move it, (I simply grab mine by the sides, its cool enough to hold, but that is mine, ..no experience of this one).
Great camping stove potential...
What lidl say...
Fan assisted portable barbecue heats up charcoal in minutes, perfect for festivals or picnics
With adjustable fan speed for additional temperature control and a sealed charcoal chamber which keeps grease and fat at bay
Double-shell construction reduces housing temperature
Carry bag and batteries included
Charcoal and fire lighting gel must be purchased separately
3 Year Manufacturers Warranty
In theory if you wish, you could stick a big old pot on the grill & do more than bbq.
I would stick to bbq charcoal as fuel unless you wish to lift the grill top to pop scavenged fuel in also, which is why most of the gasifying type have an open top with a supporting x frame to pop bits in from time to time for a quick meal.. obviously bbq coals last a lot longer...
So at £39.95 this is a bit of a steal.. very picnic portable & added controlability over a regular small lidded bbq.
recommended based on design, this style aint cheap! (it will likely run on a couple of good AA's for many hours over a summer of use.

NOT for indoors, whilst combustion of secondary gases when rolling ensures a more complete burn, (there will always be nasties created with fires) ..there is the start up & the close down both of which create more carbon monoxide, so ...outdoors, outdoors outdoors, or an incredibly well ventilated area,...like outdoors.

I do stress different fuels produce different results, but to give an example with my little woodgasifying campstove..
We turned up late to a local park where the county cubs were having a cook & play, families bringing their own picnic etc..
I loaded my stove with starter tinder & a proliferation of lollysticks from the ground & lit, ..it was at a cooking stage for hot dogs & burgers within 5 minutes kicking out 3kwh of useable directed cooking heat, that meant a very quick turnaround to cook for 3 people, a child champing at the bit to eat & play plus us two adults, the fan control aspect means you can quickly temper the stove to what you need, e.g. eggs vs steak (different thickness & liquid vs slab of meat) ..no messing around.
Plus we use it as a night time mini fire pit & heat source, with the kid scampering around for pine cones.
You dump your coals out to put it out if moving on in a hurry & douse em with water, otherwise just let it run it's course with the fan off.

Hot from me! This is a complete rip-off of the Lotus Grill, which retails for £100-130. I saw a demo at the Royal Bath & West Show last year and my son was desperate to get one, but at £130 it just wasn't worth it.
This is a neat portable barbeque. The cooking area is only about 30cm, but sufficient for adding some barbequed food to a picnic.

This is interesting- voted hot. But, where do the batteries go?. Wouldn't they just get so hot, they would just explode??

wITHOUT HANDLING THE GOODS (i HAVEN'T) i'm speculating..
However, as a twin wall unit there will be a cool sid & a hot side to this, battery pack will sit within the cool element of the design, likely alongside an air intake..
My own WGS has the battery pack sit on the floor by the unit, they are fine yet only inches away.

Do you still get a barbeque charcoal grilled taste with the meat you cook as I understand the fat from the meat never hits and burns on the coals and I've been led to believe that its this that gives the flavour?

Flavour SHOULD com from food & fuel carbonisation / smokiness imparted when cooking directly over a flame / residual compounds according to fuel type. ..I cold smoke & bbq, so the fuel adds to he flavour of my foodstuff (e.g. oak, cherry, maple, wood-dust etc) ..not forgetting marinades, & flavoursome cuts of meat rather than processed crud, besides, you could stick a pan over the grill & cook in existing juices & fats, I don't see that this wouldn't do it!

Yup, however they are both rip offs of a standard technique known for years & improved upon by spenton LLC amongst others, ...point yourself at this site http://www.silverfire.us/stoves ..many stoves for inside & out, proper kit & cheap considering.. i'd love one.
