Disagree. You just need to take a bit of care and attention and follow the instructions properly. This kit would easily retail for about £10 from places like the Science Museum so well worth £2.
Bought one for my son today from Lakeside Thurrock branch, and I pretty much hogged playing with it all evening when we got home!

I have had two of these kits. These are great for the money but the build quality is terrible. You need a very sharp scalpel or craft knife to remove excess plastic from the moulding process and the points where you snap the pieces out of the holder. Also when you build the gearbox you must make sure that the wires aren't touching the metal shaft.
also the solar cell only works in direct full sunlight. Even a glass window will slow it down a lot.

You get what you pay for but at 2 quid worth a punt.

I bought this about a year ago. Decided with my 5yo to go for the spinning plane. Rolled it out about 2 weeks ago andit still works perfectly. Now he is a year older and is asking questions about how it seems to work by magic. It is a kit and that is the point. You can show children how electricity is generated and carried to the motor and how propellers work. Not as effective if you bought a pre built toy.
This is such good value at 2.00 I'd happily buy another. Heat

Very poor quality, very small and fiddly and unfortunately mine didn't work. Suppose you get what you pay for.

The Solar Cell is pants and even that needs constructed. The individual parts for the kit all come connected together and need snapped off which leaves plastic blobs on each part where the snap was. The pictures of the models look lovely, but no one will be impressed with what they see when it arrives, and the constructing process will not be lovely. Chances of getting it working are probably LOW-MEDIUM at best.
1. Science Museum and the like would not put their name to this product and this is why they don't carry it, it is a very cheap and hence cheaply made alternative.
2. The reason Science Museum sell similar products in the £10 ball park is because they are better quality and non tat. You get what you pay for with this type of product.

Useless and fiddly and the bits don't even fit together. Instructions are almost impossible to follow too. Not worth it at any price.

May have to get one just for the irony of having a solar powered windmill!

The solar cell is a bit too small, it will only work in full on direct sunlight

Lot can go wrong, you need to do quite a lot to get it working. Connecting the cables is the hardest part. Not colding it, but I do think it is a cheap product and not worth any more than £2.

No, not £2 each. It's a kit to build all of them. The parts are interchangeable. It's a fun kit.
