Good price for good batteries. Ordered a few packs for ourselves. Seems to be about the cheapest atm.

I'll just add that the ebay seller states they are an "AUTHORISED DURACELL SUPPLIER", because there were a couple of concerns in the thread regarding fakes. Hopefully this should alleviate that fear.

Kodak Xtralife batteries are comparable in terms of price and performance. Available from the Poundshop, six for a quid. Box of 60 delivered from Amazon for a tenner.

Bought some red and black Procell 9v batteries last year. First one failed in a smoke alarm after 6 months. Replaced it with a new one from the same pack which also didn't check out. Not sure if I got a bad lot or if they were fakes. You might want to check the voltage when they arrive and compare with a brand new Duracell from a high street shop. If they are very cheap they could well be fakes. I buy batteries only from know sources now having had to change the batteries in 6 smoke alarms.

How do you know these are genuine and not fake?

That's the problem isn't it? If genuine it is a fantastic deal, however I would be dubious...

I bought this last year and they really last longer than the normal duracell batteries. Worth every penny!

I doubt many people are buying these for commercial purposes. Besides which, they're certainly practical commercially in a lot of cases where it is only pure laziness that is preventing the slightly more disciplined routines for rechargeables being put in place.

Studies show the brands are broadly similar in terms of performance, so the technology is the important bit.
we have never had duracell leak til recently and im not sure where that batch came from..im going to stick with ikea or toysrus ones x

At home maybe but in a lot of commercial environments rechargeable are not practical.

Indeed - you have to ask just why someone would need so many disposable batteries - sounds like an ideal candidate for rechargeables if you get through them that fast, and as they're equivalent to a penny or two per battery over their lifetime, why would anyone who wants to save money not do so?
And just because something is expensive it doesn't make it good value either. But at least if you go for the cheap option and its sh*te, you don't feel as ripped off.
Who really needs 50? What are you using these for?

Not at all. Everyone loves a deal but just because something is cheap doesn't necessarily make it good value for money.

What a very sweeping, and stupid, statement. These batteries get good reviews, as do the Kodak Xtralife batteries. Value for money. If you want to spend loads of money on something better, please point me in that direction. I'll be waiting a while!

Comment use these in the hangar I work in, tried all sorts of brands and variations, but these all seem to be the most reliable and hardest working (mostly used in torches and light power tools) I love them, and always have a dozen in my toolbox, just in case
I would be wary of Duracel from eBay. Most have been lead acid fakes I have bought over the past few years, leaking and destroying amongst other things a £50 LED torch.

Bought these from this supplier many times (OK, Procell before these). Great delivery times and no problems at all with these batteries.

looking on Duracell's site these are suggested for smoke alarms, remotes etc. Suggests lower power than some consumer ranges.
