Couldn't get this to work. Code wouldn't work (yes, had to in basket to get it over £5), and tried 2 different credit cards and not accepting, saying please correct the following errors, and shows none!!

Finally got it working. Seems it was rejecting because I didn't have a telephone number in (wish it had told me!!)

Right at the bottom near place nord er it asks for email twice!

It is worth trying an alternative sim in the handset if you are just getting the deal for the phone. I've tried Vodafone sim in an Orange phone and it worked fine.

Bought one. Had a lot of trouble with checkout. Persistent error on (saved) payment details. Reentered details several times, but no joy. The solution was to delete saved payment details. Restart the checkout and enter new card details during the actual checkout. Phew!....

Bought from the same seller last week with the EE e1270 with £10 credit for £11 deal, phone came in fine. packaging could be better but its was sufficient and the phone was cheap, brand new and sealed so cannot complain. Btw its a 3rd party seller on rakuten.

Strange, I ordered 2, code wouldn't work. However, unlike others, the order went through with no problems.

The TCB 12.6% + the extra 10% off code [MARCHSALEDAY3] is NOT working, thus you get the 2 at £5.98 + the 12.6% TCB, which ends at midnight tonight if you are thinking about buying 2!

I see, I had to unlock (£1 for each unlock code) two of that Alcatel Pop S3 locked to EE in order to use Giffgaff(O2). (As soon as I put a Giffgaff sim in the locked EE phone asked for unlock code.)

eBay , I used trader called yz.communications.ltd , very prompt service, all done in an hour or less. Reminder this was for an Alcatel One Touch PoP S3 that was on ChittyChatter/Rakutan recently.

Hot deal, but a friendly word of caution for anyone planning to spend actual money topping up their new EE sim - I noticed that unsolicited texts were eating up £1.50 a time on my brand new EE PAYG sim (when I got a text saying I had only 50p left), I tried to call customer services (which was shut anyway) and found that they charge £0.25 per call just to try and report a fraud!

Send an email to ask the trader, these unlock traders do many phones than what they list on eBAY especially for the older style phones as they are not as popular these days.

Previously I had the Delight sim in a 100% unlocked OAP big button type phone.
The displayed network for the Delight sim was T-Mobile UK - unfortunately a visiting relative liked the look of that phone and took it home with them!

Earlier in the this thread it was said that a Delight sim, (along with many others) should have been okay with the E1270. I am disappointed but at £3 I cannot complain.

I can confirm that my Delight Mobile SIMs do NOT work in my E1270, which is indeed strange.

However my TPO (The People's Operator) SIM does work.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Virgin and ASDA SIMs are accepted...

I type in *#simlock# and it suggests all the locks are off - I don't have a standard sim to test though - are they definitely network locked?

Finally arrived today and it's a brilliant bit of very stylish kit, especially for the endprice of minus 2 quid! Keypad seems clunky compared with the Nokia basic phones I've owned, but that's a very minor niggle at this price.
The good news is that, although it's locked, my old Orange SIM works fine in it, so have ordered a Delight SIM (which apparently also piggybacks on the EE network) and will give that a try when it arrives... fingers crossed.

Did anyone who bought this phone manage to unlock from EE?

I bought this phone and got the EE pack with the offer but BEFORE I activated the sim I was told tat EE wont work in my home location very well. I use the Samsung as a little radio and worth the small cost just for that. I want to now use the sim pack I got to try and unlock a EE phone a friend had. I think I heard you can use that credit as part of the unlock cost. Wont put the sim in the other phone until I know what to do.. Look forward to good advise please. THANKS IN ANTICIPATION

Just topped up £5 so £10 credit in total and submitted unlock request via this link. Says it takes up to 10 days so I'll keep u posted.

I only paid £5 top up as £5 was already on SIM but unlock code took 2 weeks
