This doesn't seem too different to their current F1 engine!

I'm not going to anything bad about Honda petrol engines but Briggs & Stratton aren't exactly bad either.

Hi Chis - thinking about an Izy as well - what model did you go for?

Excellent mower. I have one and it's never let me down in the nine years I've had it.

Honda all the way for me but how many slabs could you buy for this money?
Steel deck though. If you're spending this much on a lawnmower you really need a rust proof aluminium deck. Any decent engine will outlast a steel deck.

Thought the same but I hit a stone which went through the side of my Alu deck. Wish I had an easy to weld steel deck now.
Think this is a bit pricey though as paid around the same for my now holed brand name Alu deck model from a small independent and given the recent very cheap Quailcast deal with B&S engine. Would advise pricing small independents to see if they will price match/beat to keep them in business since they will be eventually needed for the eventual breakdowns.
Not voting either way.

Personally I think this is over priced, I'm sure all the Honda fan boys will rant on about how good they and in sure they are right but is it worth double the cost of the competition? In my opinion no, I bought a makita propelled briggs and Stratton powered mower 8 years ago and paid £169 at the time. The Honda powered models were more than twice the price. Ive done nothing to my mower either, is had fuel and oil and that's it. No other maintenence.
