Does this mean you have to have a bank account with them?

It should be refunded to your 'Platinum Account Credit Card'. Did this before with Halifax, and they did likewise.

Got this for travels. Its a good free card. But their customer service is non assistance. You have to mail in a signed form to set up a direct debit payment and it took months of messing about. They said they didn't receive the first 2 forms that I sent and only after I sent a complaint letter did they finally set it up the 3rd signed direct debit form.

Good card for using abroad as you'd get the same rates as post office charge when you want to exchange money. Regarding customer service; they're not the best but do their job after a few phone call
