Did you have to enter your bank details on Quidco? I've just looked as fab deal but it has asked for my bank details and i've not had that before? Thanks

I have been a quidco member since 2006. So far I have earned over £2800 in cashback. I have my bank account detail saved and also few credit card numbers registered with them for in-store cashbacks. I was like you bit reluctant initially giving my bank account details and gave them my student bank account detail. But never had any issues. Millions are members and I cannot recommend quidco high enough. Go ahead and register I am sure you would be fine. I think you can register with your paypal account. They donot send cheques for your cashbacks.

Hi powerjumps18,
Is this for an AXA landlord insurance policy? If so, please PM us with further details and we'll look into this for you!
Thanks,

Me too. They pay sometimes bit more but CS no where near Quidcos. I had couple of missing cashbacks with quidco that became successful last October but did not get paid. So had a chat with one of the CS agents and Quidco paid me the money even before they get it from the companies responsible. Quidco is superb!!!

Was this for a house ? I tried them a few years ago for flat cover and they said no flat coverage. Maybe theyve changed policy?

Quidco and TCB used to be really good at tracking a few years ago, nowadays I'm only getting around 50% track so cash back claims on the other 50%, if you don't mind the extra work go for it (They hope you forget about it)
Just to add I don't think it's Q/TCB fault just companies getting greedy and wise to it, the old days you could "earn" £60 on home Insurance!!

Quidco tops anyday .... I am currently tracking £4750 since I have been a member.
CS always gets the things sorted and tracking works almost every time.
TCB is a hit and miss.

Nice if it was that price for everyone dependant on property value, postcode, tenant type, flood history etc etc. Good deal on the cashback though.

Does this cover stuff like broken boilers?
Jimmyboy
25 Jan 15#25
No this will cover damage to the property from the tenant.
I currently use Direct Line which costs me about £6 per month. I might go for this for another property I own though as for at least the first year can't imagine getting this cheaper.
I actually switched to TCB after Quidco refused a couple of genuine cashback. Not had any issues with TCB.

Does landlord insurance apply if you're a live-in landlord with a lodger?
jm_millercbl to Youngy
25 Jan 15#36
No you would have standard house insurance however you must tell them you have a lodger. They may exclude theft cover except for forcible and violent entry.

25 Jan 15#29
Home Emergency is usually something extra which you can add (seems to be around £50 mark) onto the landlord policy, and some do include basic boiler cover.
For proper boiler cover, have a look at some of the offerings from British Gas:
One thing you might want to consider is getting boiler cover with British Gas but I'm sure they will charge more for a tenanted property. However you could always just tell them you live there and if you're happy to attend when they do then they would be none the wiser.

That would be for buildings insurance not landlord insurance?
jm_millercbl
25 Jan 15#35
Jimmy boy. Landlord insurance is building cover + loss if rent + property owners liability. Standard cover will be for professional tenants only (working tenants) non standard cover will be for student let's, DSS lets and vacant properties which AXA will not do. Thats with my insurance head on for a Sunday.
Jimmyboy to jm_millercbl
25 Jan 15#45
I have landlord cover with Directline and doesn't include buildings insurance. The one I have with them is a flat so no buildings insurance required as included in the service charges.
Jimmyboy to jm_millercbl
25 Jan 15#46
Looking at the details of what AXA offer there's no mention of buildings cover apart from an optional extra of subsidence and landslip cover. Also loss of rent is an optional extra.

I use British Gas home care for landlords. Its cheaper than my own home care cover even though my rented property has older boiler.

I never bother will Legal, did reduce excess down and went for accidental as this never increased the premium.

Are you one of those that automatically sends out section 21 notices when an AST is coming to its end, and ignores section 5 of the housing act because you like to charge a renewal lease fee each time for a silly amount to both the tenant and landlord for just a few minutes paperwork?
Very nice to threaten to evict tenants if they don't pay you a lease fee, when the law (sec 5 housing act) actually says they don't need to. Letting agents are just greedy thieves.

I got the same error and called them to see if I could get a quote on the phone instead. Found out they don't provide insurance if you already have building cover in place.. My flat is in a block where the property management company take out group building insurance and they said they don't cover such flats, though I didn't see anything to that effect while applying online. And also the error seemed to disappear once I switched from 'Block of Flats' to 'Individual Flat' for the property type. The lady on the phone said the type should have been 'Individual Flat' in my case unless you are looking to insure more than one flat...
Wondering if I should I go ahead and purchase the insurance online as it's a good deal after the cb? Don't see any mention of exclusions for flats that are already covered for building insurance... Should I even bother taking landlord insurance in this case?
