ordered mine on the 15th(ordered the 50p on card and the 1st day cover stamps)and they both came yesterday,nice to hear that they are reimbursing those that didn't get them and also giving them the stamps too(which are quite lovely),not many companies go out of their way to make sure customers are left with something as well as a refund

Farce. This type of con always makes me smile at christmas. Even if your a collector you must see this as a sanctioned con. 50p is worth 50p they are literally cashing in.

Im going to draw a snowman on all 50p pieces that pass through my hands to devalue these coins. Im doing it now! Mwahaha

50p? Didn't think these were legal tender in the UK only the IOM, therefore treat it as collectable only, I ended up with the 24ct gold plated one in a card and I am happy with my purchase. :smiley:

Also happy to acknowledge your point, it is fair to say this is HUKD and this is technically not a deal, as there is no saving on RRP if you like today, and the future is unknown. Don't think many of us voting hot are coin collectors, just avid snowman fans. Also makes for a decent pressie. I was happy to vote it hot believing in all likelihood this will prove a great long term deal.

If you're a coin collector fair enough I see how this might be interesting to you and I'm obviously not disputing the right to collect coins. That said I was under the impression that this site is meant to be for sharing good deals and special offers as opposed to advertising interesting/ unusual/ niche products which why I won't vote it as a hot deal. Sure it could be worth a fortune in the future., it could also be worth 50p. Buying it in the hope that you will gain from it financially is, in essence, gambling. Particularly as the more people buy this the less likely that eventuality actually becomes.

I do. But I am unsure of it's value. Keep meaning to shove it on Ebay but can't be bothered. Will keep it for the kids probably.

I bought early and paid £4.25 on IOM Post Office site, wanted to be 100% sure I got the giftpack. I see there is also gold plated and colour versions of these coins on ebay.

Have to admit I have no experience of coin collecting, but given it is the much adored Snowman and any merchandise relating to that tends to have good value in later years I'd say its a safe bet to buy a few as you can't lose. Its not a fortune to invest, and worst case scenario you will make a small profit.

I'm sure these coins are lovely but I can't bring myself to vote hot on a 'deal' where you deliberately pay quadruple what the item is worth.

Then again maybe I'll regret saying that if this coin ends up being a rare and valuable collectible a few years down the line.

Some of these comments are just utter nonsense. The fact it is a coin is not relevant. It is just the same as stamp collecting or any other collecting really it just happens to be a specialy produced coin in this case. Seriously.... as if anyone buying these is going to be buying their newspaper the next day with their 50p Snowman coin.
