Had one of these this morning, it seemed great value
£3.99 for as many pork sausages, rashers of bacon, eggs, baked beans, tomatoes and slices of black pudding as you like. Also available to choose from were hash (potato, gammon and cheese & onion I think), potato rosti and toast (white or brown).
Served until 11:00am Mon-Sat and until 10.30am Sundays
If you're really hungry, this is the deal for you.
They also offer an upgrade with as much tea or coffee as you can drink included for £5.79.

a friend of mine went to this after working a night shift expecting it to be 'all you can eat' and so started with a couple of slices of toast and a cup of tea. She finished this and then when she went up to get her actual breakfast was told that it is limited to one plate and if she wanted any more she would have to pay for two meals. This was the toby carvery in tottngton, bury.
Im not sure if this is the nationwide rules or just an overzealous manager/employee on a power trip but my friend is in no way a large person or even wanted to abuse the offer, she just wanted to take her time eating her breakfast and not pile a plate high and leave a large chunk of it to waste.
anyway, thats my piece, maybe just ask before you get you're food on their policy and if its one trip make sure you pile youre plate to the ceiling

Toby Carvery is one of those places that annoys me. Their full price costs are not exceptionally cheap (though their special offers, like third Wednesday in Lent when a full moon half price), but they do not get the whole imported american concept of buffet. The chefs *shave* the meat of their products, i mean really, last time i went the slice of meat was so thin it could have doubled up as a screen protector for my iphone.

Tell your friend to write and complain. I complained about my rather tepid dinner and got a free 2 course meal for two.
