think every shop should market every item that has a flat surface larger than, say 15cm square, as 'doubles as mouse mat'
tin of biscuits - doubles as mouse mat!
large box of tampons - doubles as mouse mat!
etc..

Hi, Just got the link to leave my opinion. In 2017 Aldi's one graphics tablet for £29.99 was one of the best affordable drawing tablets. It has some unique features hasn't others graphics tablet at this price. But now Wacom brings some exceptional drawing tablet with awesome features at the affordable price that under 100. It's Wacom Intuos Draw digital drawing & graphics tablet. Most of the professional artist suggest this tablet. I got it from this list https://www.drawingadvisor.com/best-drawing-tablet-under-100/ then gone to Amazon and bought it and using it since Dec - 2015. I personally suggest this tablet for beginners.

I already have an older Wacom tablet but thought this one worth a try at £20 and I find it excellent TBH, so good in fact that I went back and bought a second one for my grandson!

FWIW My local Aldi had stacks of these even one week after launch!

I previously bought an A4 medion tablet and it was great. Ok, it's not the same build quality as the Wacoms, but for a piece of kit for your kids for christmas (if they are into drawing/photoshop etc) or for the amateur this is the bees knees. Unfortunately, my old one broke (I spilled coffee on it, it also triples as a nice table top) but oh happy day, I got one of these this morning. I think this one is going to be much more easy to handle then the old (I like to have the tablet in my lap while I draw)

For the amateur who wants to have a cheep tablet, this is ideal. It works and that's all that's important.

I take it these will not work with an Apple Imac ?

Had the previous version of this from a few years back and absolutely loved it. Following a change of laptop to Windows 7 it no longer worked as there were no updated drivers, so I can't wait to snap this up. I prefer this to the Wacom I got as a replacement. If you're a serious digital artist you'll want a high end Wacom but if you're not these are pretty brilliant.

This may be just what we need,thanks to op.Some people may find it a good substitute for a mouse for those with limited movement.Excellent find heat added

No. thats the bigger one aldi sometimes sell. It costs about 24.99 or 29.99. I had one for two years and punted it on an auction site for 50 quid. you can't lose

Im looking at purchasing one for my 9 year old who loves drawing, is it like a hetchasketch but more better quality when drawing pictures? u can erase when finished and stuff and can pics be saved onto it?

You don't need A4 for hobby use(photo retouching, painting etc), A5 or A6(wacom bamboo one) is enough. A4 tablet requires much more wrist/arm movement and in most cases it's an overkill.

Hi my 13 year old son is interested in graphics and hopes to take it as a GCSE next year. He also wants to be a game designer would this be any good for him? or should I get one of those bamboo ones? don't want to spend money needlessly and this is less that half the price of other ones.

It doesn't say it 'doubles as a mouse mat', it says "Graphics and mouse pad in one", which means the pen can be used as a mouse, as well as for drawing.

Problem is that people are comparing this to a professional tablet that costs £100's, this is a small tablet which for £20 is excellent value and does what it should, if you want one for amateur use for perhaps using with Photoshop this will work if you want one for business use buy a Wacom for around £300.

As far as size is concerned I have a wacom A6 size tablet and a larger A4 tablet and I have to say that the l find the larger A4 one more difficult to use, a lot more distance to cover with the pen and it gets quite tedious and now always prefer the smaller tablet.

IMOH this is a good buy and a good way of trying out whether a tablet is for you without spending a lot of cash! :smiley:

eh? isn't a "necessity" pretty much the same as an "essential"??

This and the basic bamboo one are too small. The Wacom tablets are the only ones I would look at. Though I don't know about the Median one. For design you need a larger tablet, but the price goes up to a scary amount. But the people who use them would never have anything else but a Wacom. My small Wacom has lasted me 4 years and is still going strong and as new. If it ever breaks I will by one with a larger active area. (this is the bit of the tablet that works not the full size)

The cheap Bamboo ones are excellent - I have a Trust tablet which was twenty something quid and it is ok, I reckon this one will be similar. The Bamboo just feels so much better made. Just bought 10 of them for my school.

Not an ideal solution but Insert->Object->Bitmap image then draw what you want. Given that it's a signature, you'd want to do it once and save it as a file for embedding.

Depends, if he's working with graphics and colours with odd shapes, then a tablet is what he would be using.

However lines/mapping and orthogonal views don't really need a tablet.
