I would if they did a model that would pull my caravan, and have the specs (4 or 5 door, room for an EE Flat Tuba etc.) for what I paid for mine... 10 grand for a Mitsubishi Lancer. The Nissan choice is not exactly poking my eye out!
I previously had a Coventry built Peugeot 206 2.0Hdi Diesel, (not enough doors anyway!) and wouldn't buy a Pug now for half the price, as they are actually junk, and far from cheap to run whoever builds them (and the new "equivalent" models wouldn't pull the van either! :-(
Anyway... we digress!

Tempting at the price and slick looks, but I dont really see the point as its appears a compromise on every level; non HD dvd, lack of Video inputs, wired ethernet, flaky USB support.
Only use I see is as a decent set of speakers/amp for somewhere like the bedroom. But then the price becomes questionnable.
But I am prepared to be persuaded otherwise!

I have one of these for the bedroom, absolute bargain for this price, and I am used to hi-fi separates in my main system and this compares well. Havent tried media streaming but is nice to use with dvd and whole unit is very well constructed and sounds excellent for an all in one system, even with music. Build quality feels more like it should at the original rrp! only let down is a lack of inputs for video switching but guess you cant have everything.

Systems like these are becoming redundant as well. They're not HD Ready, as in 720p or 1080p, and so they'll only play DVDs. I'd recommend investing in something that IS HD Ready.

If we went by that line, then who WOULD we buy from... eg. I live in Coventry, so what car can I buy now?
I come from Sunderland - ALL the industries from there are all now well and truly gone and moved on to various parts of the world.
I go along with the principal, and used to even try to do this sort of thing, but as manufacturing is all but extinct here now, sadly it has become impractical :-(

but the 360 now supports divx/xvid streaming, as well as the previous mpg/wmv capabilities, and the standard music codecs.
works a treat as well.

there are 1000s of tutorials explaining how to set up xbmc and stream media to your xbox you will need a chipped/softmodded console with the software on and a serving program on the pc like tversity.
I've got three X-Boxes with XBMC installed and they're great bits of kit - but waaaaaayyyyy to LOUD!

Actually it's not really possible. There was a company a while back, Friendtech, selling Xboxes with 1.4GHz processors but I'm afraid you can't just drop in another CPU. Shame, as I really liked my XBox with XBMC but it struggles with high def content.

It doesn't support streaming hidef video according to the review above so the XBMC Xbox's get a reprieve.
I can't understand why MS didn't employ the XBMC guys to do a version for XBOX360 with legal codecs etc and sell it for £40 or whatever. I for one would buy a 360 if they did, but for now my faithful old XBOX1 remains under my tv.

Get the Hi-def cable from ebay for £12.
Download the PAL/NTSC switcher disc.
I've got the XBMC firing through vga on my projector at a 720p equivelant resolution.
Some of the hi-def tv content i play gets a little jumpy, but you can put a newer intel cpu in to make it smoother.

So it's £146 for an ethernet networking streaming device? My £10 Xbox + XMBC does the same job, leaving me another £136 for speakers...

I have a XBMC configured xbox as well, love it to bits. However the noticable advantage of this system would be the fact you can output to HDMI, with todays HiDef technology our xbox's are becoming redundant.
Still seems to be around £300+ everywhere else. So HOT from me.

So buy a pair of Powerline adaptors - some were in a post earlier this week for about 40-odd quid, (the Dabs ones were cheaper, but there is a wait for them coming in stock) and you are sorted. Simple plug in and it works, more reliable solid connection too. I am using them instead of wireless now, and use them for media streaming to an old Hauppauge MVP too.

sounds quite good, except media streaming is ethernet only and not wireless, otherwise i'd be tempted.
