The main visitors car park at Newham General Hospital is currently FREE to park.
The payment machines have been covered and notices are displayed as shown on the attached photo.
This is not a permanent arrangement and I'll update this daily until my patient gets discharged and I stop visiting the hospital.

You had to pay here, otherwise all the West Ham fans would park in the and walk up for the football! Not a problem anymore though

If I have to visit my local hospital in past I used to walk there as was about 15 minute walk. I'm further out now so drive but always find somewhere close to park the car. I just hate paying park, I have many cities I park my car in for free too within reasonable walking distance of city centre. Obviously if you have a pretty decent car you might want security of a car park in event something happens it will be on cctv ...

Like yourself, I strongly dislike paying hospital car park charges, especially when you're bringing a loved one in for an emergency or visiting someone.
The usual charges for this car park when the free period comes to an end are:
3 Hours £2.20
6 Hours £4.50
8 Hours £8.00
24 Hours £16.50
Blue Badge holders can park for free.

Nothing is free - just paid for another way. Do you really believe in Labour's money tree?

It is much more business friendly and entrepreneurial, with added bonus to create business climate to attract foreign investment in parking, just increase rate to £50/hr. Capitalists want sick people to be monetisd to boost the gross domestic product. Who wants Corbyn style free parking, lol. Every £50 per hour charged increases the GDP by £50. Every little bit helps.

All sorts of freebies at hospitals. Well worth breaking your leg, so as to enjoy the free plaster cast. Break both legs, and get two!

Thank you for your feedback.
Newham General is fairly remote and it would be unlikely for most people to park here unless they were visiting this hospital for a medical reason.
Having visited here for a number of consecutive days, both before and after my initial posting, I have found many parking spaces available at different times of the day.
Hope this helps.

This free parking cannot be helping the country. A successful country is built on enterprise not silly ideas of social justice such as free parking when visiting a hospital.

Take a read of the manifesto, you'll be pleasantly surprised to see that unlike the tories manifesto that it is actually FULLY COSTED, who'd have thought it, full transparency from politicians  Have a read here

Not Labour (or any other party) - it's the nation which is living beyond its means. You could have a valid discussion about the distribution of that wealth if you wish but the Labour approach of buying votes by promising the earth had failed again and again and again; maybe you're too young to remember or just take a 'jam today' attitude?

So, what are these parking charges spent on today and we can determine what will have to be found elsewhere. Maybe it's valid to fund these things a different way but, like I said, NOTHING is free.
OptimusPrimeval
22 May 17#21
Maybe not, however Labour are being totally transparent with their costings so everyone who cares to read their manifesto can see exactly where the money is going to.
Something that the tories haven't done. They are relying on people blindly voting them back in so that they can do as they please. Won't be any NHS left under them anyway so car parking charges will be the least of our worries then. :disappointed:

I see Labour's daily bribe today is to abolish tuition fees from this year - worth £billions. I guess they just reached down the back of the sofa over the weekend and found the cash for that one.
The Tories, on the other hand, don't seem to be afraid to announce policies which will be unpopular with many (eg re social care costs). It's the difference between a party which knows it will have to carry out its promises and one which knows it has no chance. Just look at their first line team and imagine them negotiating Brexit for us!

May I ask where you obtain your daily news from please? As you are just spouting out the same old soundbites that it is getting very tiresome to hear.
"Strong and stable leadership" from a Prime Minister who has just performed a MASSIVE U-turn on her social care policy just 4 DAYS after it was announced in their manifesto. I wouldn't call that leadership, watching her news conference in Wrexham just now she just comes across like a cranky old woman after her pram gets rattled from an uncomfortable question from journalists.
Also the fact that she is frightened to debate against Jeremy Corbyn says it all. John Mcdonnell has called out chancellor Philip Hammond to debate him "Anytime, anywhere" surprisingly enough that offer has yet to be taken up, I wonder why? Because Mr Mcdonnell chewed up and spat out Damian Greene yesterday on the Andrew Marr show. The tories are serial liars and cheats and this fact is now slowly starting to catch up to them.
Conservative Britain, a country run for the privileged few on a campaign of fear and hatred, I for one certainly don't want to be part of that.

Oh dear - are you just quoting from the Socialist/Marxist manifesto or did you make all that up on your own?
You haven't even attempted to explain where the new £billions for tuition fees are coming from - or were they hidden somewhere in the "fully costed" Labour manifesto? Actually, manifestos don't need to be costed at all but Labour know they have to try because most people know they are financially incompetent and irresponsible.
As I read it (even on the left leaning BBC) TM has added a qualification to what was announced previously; is "massive U-Turn" one of those phrases Victoria Street tells you use in the hope that the hard of thinking will start to believe it?
"Conservative Britain, a country run for the privileged few on a campaign of fear and hatred, I for one certainly don't want to be part of that. " When are you leaving? 9th June would be a good suggestion; book early to get the best tickets.
'The trouble with socialism is that, sooner or later, you run out of other people's money' You don't have to go very far back in history to see that happen several times over. Like I said, there's no such thing as free money.
Anyhow I can tell from your empty responses that you haven't read the manifesto and it doesn't look like you are going to as you have been blinkered into backing those who favour the rich.
I'm now going to leave this discussion as I don't think it's going anywhere worthwhile. In actual fact your right wing bias is most boring. I suppose you will reply again as most right wingers love to hear themselves defend the supreme leader. But I won't be here to read it as you are promptly going on ignore
Roll on June 9th when Jeremy Corbyn gets handed the keys to number 10.

Anyhow why do I need to explain to you where the money is coming from? Can't you get your servant to research it for you as you are obviously upper class (guess that's why you use hotukdeals).
