Hmm, that's interesting. The same did not happen for me because i've never had an account with BT. I just filled in my address in the form to receive one of the free Google Cardboard headsets, and it showed the same location as both the billing and shipping address. My friend however, had been with BT for line rental and fibre-optic broadband up until a few weeks ago when he switched providers, and his has already shipped despite the order being placed around 18 hours after mine. So what you're saying is that, BT account holders may have preferential treatment over non-account holders?

I'm not a football fan at all, but out of interest just tried to watch a little of this.
The quality just isn't good enough to watch surely? I'm trying on a OnePlus3, it really is quite blurry. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. The cardboard app demos are much more crisp.

Makes a diff if you hold VR slightly away (end of nose) from your face.
Some images are clear and others little squares. (one bowling game is fuzzy)
Diff between apps. Prefer the ios as get Kaleidoscope
5" phone gets more 360 view than 4"

Anyone know what the deal is with the SKUs?
My partner and I ordered one each to our two separate addresses and at every step they've sent each of us almost two duplicate e-mails at each step regarding the order, invoices and then two tracking numbers each where the only difference is that one says "Google Cardboard Sku 12" and the next says "Google Cardboard Sku 14".

Yes - basically you are looking at a low resolution letterbox-cutout of a much higher resolution video which makes it look blurry. The lowest acceptable quality for 360º videos is actually 4K, but this requires a lot more bandwidth when streaming.

Some nice moving images on the Google Cardboard app. (esp. bird flying + Kaleidoscope) Good can interact via trigger and rotation. (planting flowers is good)
Google Cardboard camera is good. Amazing 360 3D photos (esp. camper van)
Youtube has some nice videos (split screen) esp. an aquarium

u should remove the thin plastic covering the lenses. There is a capacitive button which when pressed touches the middle of the screen. That is recommended guidelines by google now instead of the magnetic pull switch.

Thanks for the responses. I believe the second reason is definitely the most likely explanation, as to why the headsets are not shipping in the order we would expect. Anyways... Everything seems to be alright here now, as i received an email late this afternoon informing me that my order had started processing. Hopefully it should ship tomorrow and arrive before the weekend. :sunglasses:

It could also be that having an existing BT Shop account has no bearing whatsoever, and they simply started processing the huge backlog of orders starting with the most recent first - before the offer was withdrawn on Sunday evening "due to unprecedented demand".
This has been known to happen with other deals posted on HUKD in the past - i.e. the orders are not processed on a first-come first-served basis.
