I don't know if this has already been posted but "Ancestry" and "Find my past" is free in Essex Libraries you just need a library card, don't know if this works for other counties. You can only use it in the library though.

Don't worry. Your homelessness will hopefully be recorded and the information available to your descendants many years from now.

Oh Christ, it's worse than you thought - It turns out my mam's a ****, you're my Dad AND my Nephew and we're fighting over custody of our stepson, which they can't work out is either me or you.
And it turns out you owe me about 28 bags of Werther's Originals, or I'm telling the cops.

I thought I was the only person in the world with my full name, turns out there's one more person who was born three years after me with the same name (well atleast that's what it says). What a surprise! Voted hot

Ok if you search the section birth, marriage, death and parish records or censuses 1841-1911, partial census of 1939 these are free, any other records e.g. electoral registers etc it will bring up the select a subscription page.

This is good but come on folks, it's only 10 quid for a month sub.
In my experience it's best to just work out which months you have the most time to dedicate to genealogy and then pay the 10 quid on those months.
This can work out a lot cheaper than getting a yearly sub which you never get around to using and personally I always seem to find that I don't have the time to dedicate to this on the random free weekends.
