can't say i enjoyed it myself, could be only limited cards to start mean fewer strategies but when i played it was all about the character power to clone a card and super buffing a row. enjoyed w3's gwent more than this, it's all about manipulating your units numbers efficiently.
not played since early beta mind you, but a lot of the other strategies seemed to rely on unlockable cards and fog or frost setups need both random chance of card packs and getting the right cards at the start of the game.

I agree - loved the game in Witcher 3 but soon gave up on the beta. It has a very steep learning curve as you start with very basic cards and even the AI opponents will suddenly come up with a card that knocks out half your own cards at a single stroke.
@Marra - kegs are basically card packs and the premium content of Gwent. You can earn in game currency to buy them by winning against human opponents but I never found the matchmaking worked well enough to earn many kegs :disappointed:

Man, I sucked at Gwent in game... what makes me think I'd be good in a stand alone version? :-P
Nice card game, fresh approach, I like it more then Hearthstone.

Just GOG have keys now, Thanks for the link Buzz.
edit: Not sure if anyone else as noticed but when you go to the game in GOG there's a offer if you sign up to a sub email they give you a card keg for Gwent (not sure what this is yet) and Witcher the enhanced edition for free.
Thanks - I also recommend the Witcher novels on kindle!

Have played this a fair amount of time. Really enjoyable and a massive improvement on the in game version (which was really good). Worth trying to get a key if you enjoyed Gwent.
Opening post
{EDIT} If Eurogamer run out, the keys are also for grab at http://www.pcgamer.com/get-gwent-closed-beta-access/
{EDIT2} Both run out.
