This was great at the start and I accumulated over £20 in credit. I've gradually got less and less surveys though. I think i've had about 2 this year so they're either cutting back or i'm no longer the target demographic.

Getting close to uninstalling as I've not had a survey in about 6 months. I set this up for my Mother and she was getting bombarded with surveys (I guess they're are much fewer people in her demographic using it) but that all but dried up over the last few months. Last year, for me, this was a great deal. Now, it's dead in the water.

It is also good to declare yourself a female when you first install the app, I know it is anecdotal, but many times me and my girlfriend went somewhere together and she gets a survey and I don't (she got almost 3 times as much credit as I did in the last year or so). I am not sure if this would actually work, or if google already has this information but, maybe worth keeping in mind.
The reason for it, I am guessing, is that they have much fewer female users and for various statistics purposes they would need a balanced amount to get a representative sample.

I changed jobs in January so travelling much more than the same route every day- I find it tapers off a bit with the location side of things if you're going to the same places frequently (i.e I go past a Superdrug most days) rather than asking you every week, although I'd have no issues with that!

Reading all the comments it's good to hear how many people have had a great experience over the couple of years. Definitely an app I'm going to keep on my phone, a little gutted I was so late to the party. The location services doesn't bother me, it doesn't drain your battery as much as GPS. Most people will have location services on by default (without realising), so having this app installed won't affect anything for those I would imagine.
I understand privacy concerns (for some), but if you're a cautious person you be careful what you tell them. Google knows where I work, and occasionally where I eat/visit and my experience. This is no more informative than what I post on my social media anyway.

The app is more or less based around your location history hence why it's best turned on it's one of the things it uses to check if your telling the truth when it gives you a list of shops you might have been to. Just in case you do want to switch location history back on you can fully manage your history here: google.com/map…ine google allow you to delete your location history both by individual day or all the location history they have on you by selecting the settings icon in the bottom right side and then pressing delete all location history.

Go to a shopping centre/Park and stroll past as many shops as you can, you don't even have to go in, the location tracker on your phone will fool the survey into asking you questions. Great app, I have earned about £15 so far. You get more surveys if you travel and have location on but rarely will get a random survey on wifi. As said, answer honestly. There are many trick questions like 'have you visited ------ recently?' And then multiple choice of destinations, some of which do not even exist. Paired with location data they have a good idea if you have been near to your answer.

The only way I'd leave it on even for a few minutes is if I was running a fake GPS app and answering surveys based on the fake locations I chose but that's too much bother and battery juice for a few quid's worth of free credit. Google's main line of business is in advertising, not anything like IT such as the Android OS, Pixel phones or Chromebooks or whatever else they put their name to. The vast majority of their revenue comes from advertising, analytics, etc.
Even though you can delete location history in Google settings, to have noticed an increase in the frequency of surveys that pay out you'd need to leave it on for weeks. I'm not fussed about Google knowing my business (I'm posting from a Chromebook, all phones are Androids, I use Google search engine so they already know everything they want to about me) but in the space of weeks that personal info only you and Google know will be passed onto thousands of 3rd party companies, and those 3rd party companies will sell on the info they they bought to thousands of other 3rd party companies. In a couple of weeks of location history being left on what info was once only known by you and Google is now known by millions including spammers, Nigerian princes, hackers, Canadian pharmacies based in Panama etc etc, as well as genuine advertisers. That's why I don't have location history on at any time. Not in a futile attempt to hide online activity from Google but the fallout of them having my permission to pass on what they know to any Tom, Dick or Harry who'll pay them for my personal info and online habits.

Turn on high accuracy locations and be honest with your answers as it can detect false answers and will reduce or suspend surveys. Supermarkets are a common place to earn survey as well as fast food chains retail parks and major high street shopping centers. Random surveys tend to be aimed at the female market so prefer Not to say if it asks your gender if you initially selected male in your setup survey as ansering female or male may result in less or suspended surveys if you try to falsify your answers.
