I'll be phoning Virgin Media for a better deal. This is going to change the way we, in the UK, browse the internet. Big changes ahead, well done Aldi. If this was a deal it would be stratospheric.

My partner works in the education sector with a focus on engagement/disengagement and is not aware of that research - would be really grateful for some links to it.
Thank you very much.

Surely this would be a freebie? Not a deal? Unsure what the actual deal here is?

So you can google a councillor after trying to pack as quick as the checkout operator scans.

Cold!!! I can just imagine the road blocks in the isles. Supermarket doesn't need wifi :disappointed:

Why on earth is there so much vitriol over an innocent post stating that one may, if they so wish, get free Internet access in a supermarket? Some people should really get a life!
I am so incensed that I shall be outside my local Aldi for opening time in the morning (having peed off genuine commuters en route of course for it is what Ethyl and I do each day) so that I may electronic-mail my Member of Parliament once more with my thoughts and recommendations.

I can see what you are saying but a younger way of thinking and way forward is that Internet (sic) should be available anywhere - quite a common thought at the moment.

This wifi service is so you don't get bored waiting to pay at one of the 3 tills which are open.

You should have waited till you were outside your local Aldi before posting all these negative comments. Soooo many words!!!

To check HUKD of course and see if something is a bargain?
Not to mention just keeping in touch - lousy mobile signal in my nearest Aldi, this'll mean I don't need to wait till I hit the car park to see a message!

Great stores. Great prices. Great quality.
But WiFi? Thanks, but no need - the best thing about Aldi is the ability to get round it, with a family shop, through the tills (always very quick here, with plenty of assistants) and out again within 15 minutes. Try that in Waitrose, or anywhere else!

we use a shopping list on "Evernote" so a WiFi signal would be useful where we can't pick up a mobile signal (normally right at the back of the shop)

Never had any problems although took me a while to withdraw as I only tend to make use of the free offers as I only really shop at Aldi.

Yes, exactly. No mobile signal in my local Sainsbury's or local Aldi, which means it can get stressful going there when on a project deadline. Wifi at Aldi = no missed emails

Beat me to it, I get really P***** off when people stop for a chat blocking the freezers how dare they slow me down. This will make it worse whilst they update Facebook saying they've met their mates in aldi, take a selfie share it. Get out of the way I've got better things to do, like shop.

Free WiFi helps them more than it helps the consumer, as an installer of public WiFi Access Points I know that they can use your device to track your movements whether you connect to their WiFi or not (as long as you have WiFi or Bluetooth enabled on your phone). They can see if you pause for a while to look at something, which parts of the shop people spend the most time at etc...

Can't understand people knocking this. if you've got data on your mobile then you've got data, but those that haven't got data then this is useful to them, eg people like me.

Many times I have no signal inside a store. So wifi is very helpful to get an email, text, or even phone calls via wificall... It's good to know Aldi has a free wifi. Thanks kexas!
