Special preview screening of the awards nominated film **Hacksaw Ridge** on Thursday 26th January
Starring Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington, Luke Bracey, Teresa Palmer, Hugo Weaving, Rachel Griffiths and Vince Vaughn.
Directed by Mel Gibson
HACKSAW RIDGE is the extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss (BAFTA and Golden Globe nominated, Andrew Garfield) who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he single-handedly evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers. Doss was the first conscientious objector awarded the Congressional Medal of Honour.
Yes, but the poster wrote that the screening is on the 26th. It's on the 24th.

Get there early if I was you. Had tickets to see this on Sunday at Odeon Preston, arrived at 10:15am for 10:30 showing. No staff around so joined queue for drinks/popcorn, ten minutes later staff member appeared to say only had 2 seats left, which went to the couple in front of us. :disappointed: People had been queuing from 9:45am and most of the seats were gone shortly after 10am.
Been to a few screenings over the years and you're lucky if they're half full and never turned away due to being sold out. Maybe Preston don't get many free screenings or maybe due to the Oscar nominations contributed to the popularity of this one?
