They've apparently changed their storage policy from fragmented files to storage in actual data centres with 128-bit AES Security and TLS encryption so might be worth checking out.
Some pros and cons in the reviews, like most services, but might be worth looking at again with the new storage policy.

very slow to signup/download. I will give it a miss.
I already have my 50gb megacloud storage that I got for free and works very well. Dont use it for anything personal just comes in handy for transferring clips or things over to my phone via pc.

So it runs without fuss in the background, so inconspicuously that I forgot I had it!

Just a heads up, i asked them about file retention and how long they keep hold of your files if you don't sign in to their clients or website. They replied (albeit a month later) "Your backups will remain on the cloud for as log as you keep your account active. To stay active, all you have to do is allow Degoo to run or log into your Degoo account page (https://degoo.com/me). Your backups will be deleted after 60 days if stay inactive."
That being said, this is an awesome freebie backup solution.

Symantec not allowing the installer so looks like something is not safe here

It'll be a false positive. The download is clean. I tried it out on my MacBook and it seems to work ok. I wasn't happy with the limited functionality though, so uninstalled it.

It does seem a bit silly that they don't have an IOS app yet. You'd have thought with a service such as this, being far more space than any other provider, they'd want maximum exposure.

On the basis of those reviews I think its worth a try, good amount of space which I'll use as a secondary back of certain files. Watch out for the Avast sign up though during the registration process i.e. don't just click through it, unless you want Avast you need to decline this option...I think it was either on the second or third page of the installation wizard.
